FC: The National Civil Rights Museum located in Memphis, Tennessee, is the assassination site of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. which was once a motel before being converted into a museum.
1: The Lorraine motel was where Dr. King stayed while in Memphis for the sanitation workers' strike. On the right is a quote from his final speech that seems to predict his death.
2: The museum's exhibits display artifacts from various periods of the civil rights era Ranging from school desegregation, social activist groups,and protests which were usually accompanied by marches which unfortunately ended in violence.
3: "Sit-ins" were considered to be an effective method of protesting against segregation in public places.
4: The purpose of the civil rights museum is to remind future generations of the struggle for basic human rights. MAny people risked and lost their lives for their beliefs and so that we all could enjoy the equality in which we have today.
