10: FCA Flag Football This was Austin's first time playing football and he just loved it! It was so much fun watching him be an aggressive player by ripping flags off kids, diving all over the field and making interceptions. We were most impressed with what a arm he had as a quarterback. It could be just the start of many fun games ahead as a QB! | Kelley Randall and Fran Ruesink were his coaches this year!

13: Austin just loves making up his own football plays. He brings them outside for recess and the boys run them during their games. He and Jack also like to try them out with daddy!

18: Friday Math and Science Investigations Math+Science=Fun Learning! Each Friday Mrs. Anderson found creative math and science lessons for the students to complete. Here are just a few of them. | How many OREO's can you stack? | Leaf Search | Worms! | Estimating how many Fruit Loops were in the box and then sorted them by color!

19: Austin had to count the seeds in the pumpkins. First they estimated, changed their estimations and found the final answer...he said his had 400 something! | The second graders learned the phases of the moon by taking the OREO cookies apart and cutting the inside cream into one of the phases of the moon. What an awesome lesson from an awesome teacher! | Watching bebe's go down the tube to see just how strong gravity can be!

22: November 4th, 2011 | "I'm an Expert" Publishing Party! | We were so proud of Austin publishing his first book. He did a great job reading it in front of a huge audience in his classroom!

23: Here is some fall writing in a book Austin did. I was so amazed at the voice he used in his writing along with his "kid writing" when sounding out words. What a good writer he is becoming! | Fall Writing

24: Austin was soooo sick with the stomach flu the night before Halloween. He was on the couch and got up for about 10 minutes to cut the top off his pumpkin. Poor kid! | Carving Pumpkins! | Poor sick Aussie

25: Austin dressed up as Channing Barber (a senior on the football team). He has always looked up to the Barber boys so they let him borrow their real football jerseys. After trick or treating we went to the Quarriers playoff game in their costumes...Jack was Zachary and Jo Jo was their cheerleader! | Halloween 2011...Channing Barber!

31: Twins Caravan | Austin's good buddy Charlie Holm asked Austin to go along with them. Aussie met Dan Gladden and other Twins players along with getting autographs. What a neat experience for him.

32: Yet another neat project by Mrs. Anderson's second grade class. Each group had to create their own habitat canvas! | Eating president Obama's breakfast served by Mrs. Anderson | The class was challenged to find out what president Obama eats for breakfast. Someone turned in the correct answer so Mrs. Anderson had to serve his breakfast to her second graders. He eats toast, fruit and scrambled eggs.

35: Austin's 2nd Grade Christmas Program | Austin looked so handsome in his new shirt and tie for the big program. Daddy was down in Texas so we had to tape it for him when he returns. Austin's favorite part was singing "Holiday Lights" at the end of the program. He did a great job and knew all the words and actions to all the songs! | Thursday December 1st, 2011

36: Holiday Express | The entire second grade "traveled" to many countries on the holiday express. They learned about how Christmas is celebrated in that country along with their customs and traditions! | Daddy helped out with the food fair at the end!

42: Austin made sure Santa was left some cookies, milk and carrots for Rudolph. This year Santa stocked Austins stocking full to the top along with bringing him a new pair of Under Armour sandals and a Cabelas hunting game for his wii. He was up at 6:45 to find his presents.

48: Mrs. Anderson Just LOVES Books! Here is a book I donated to our classroom. Mrs. Anderson has thousands of books in her classroom!

49: More fun projects in second grade. Mrs. Anderson taught us how to weave and treated us with a "snazzy snack" once each month. There was never a dull minute of learning new things!

50: My baby brother Ryan was born on January 15th. I knew it was going to be a boy. I couldn't wait to meet him and I just love holding him! | My Baby Brother

63: Reciting the Apostle's Creed for Sunday School 2nd grade memorization | I believe in God the father almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ his only son our lord: who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He decended into Hell. The third day he rose again and ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.

64: Austin's entry into the Young Illustrators contest got 3rd and went on to the next level of competition.

65: The dinner and award ceremony! | Once again, Mrs. Anderson made the night so special for her students by purchasing their meals and coming to the awards banquet!

66: 3rd Annual Henry's Hitting Camp! | Austin won contact hitter award for his 3rd year in a row!

67: I thought this picture Aussie drew of our family was adorable!

68: Publishing Party | Austin wrote a story about gum stuck in hair (really did happen to him). He learned about sequencing a story with characters, setting, problem, rising action, climax, falling action and conclusion. What a great learning process it has been for Austin as a young second grade "author!" | Such a proud Author!

77: This year Austin's grade went to Augustana college, Sertoma Park and the Butterfly House. They got to do the "Kids Zone" thanks to Jeff Holm (Charlie's dad) who works at Auggie. They had beautiful weather and a great time together before the school year ended!

88: Ending Great | Austin struck out the last batter to get his team into the championship game...they ended up losing and took 2nd in the league out of 24 | SEBA

89: Baseball Seasons | Austin's Dells team ended up taking 4th and lost to the Baltic Riverbats...Aussie pitched great | DELLS

90: Spending time at Grandpa Jeff's cabin on Green Lake! | Austin had a great time up at the cabin swimming off the end of the dock and fishing as many hours as he could. He also got to go tubing and tried to get up on water skis. He was so close and up for about 3 second but fell. We will get it next summer for sure!

91: Austin's first time to Valleyfair and The Power Tower! | Austin just LOVED all the rides at Valleyfair! His favorite was the Power Tower in which is wasn't scared of a bit. He will go on any ride any day! | July 29, 2012

92: T | W | I | N | S | G | A | M | E | July 30, 2012...Twins Win in the bottom of the 9th (thanks to Aussie's rally cap) and it is a great way to end our summer vacation!

93: Selling our house on August 9th, 2012...a tough time for Aussie having to let go! | Aussie said he will always remember his sandbox, his first swing set, learning to play baseball in the yard and most of all his tree from grandpa Jeff. | Saying good-bye to our house for the last time. | Aussie's Green Lake tree from grandpa Jeff. When Aussie planted it 8 years ago, it only had 2 leaves. We were able to dig up a seedling tree from it and put it in Mrs. Anderson's yard. We hope it can be in the front yard of our new house someday!

94: Austin's first year of Junior Football has begun. So far he has had 2 weeks of practice in very hot conditions. He is working hard and enjoying it so far. He was so excited when he got Channing Barber's number for his jersey! | First day in pads! | Getting his jersey | Junior Football

95: Dear Aussie, I just wanted to tell you how proud I am to be your dad. I'm proud of you in sports and school, but I'm most proud of how nice you are to everyone you meet. You have a wonderful heart for people. Love, Daddy | Dear Austin, Wow have you grown up this past year. You have become such a great athlete and a good student. I could not be more proud of you leading the way for our family. I love you beener bop! Love, Mommy
