S: Creativity Is A State Of Mind!
BC: Time for another activity. We need to make a food web with the organisms from Mono Lake. | Mrs. Moore will now pass out the activity cards, and blank pieces of scrap paper. Place the organisms in the pictures on your table, and correctly create a food web.
FC: Food Chains and food webs
1: Definitions: Make a T: Write the definitions of the words on the left side, draw a picture of the word on the right side. | 1. Food Web:A diagram to show feeding relationships in an ecosystem. Many food chains make a food web. | 2. Producer: create their own food that fules all the other organisms.
2: 3. Primary consumer/first level consumer: Can not make their own food, they depend on producers for energy. | 4. secondary/second -level consumer: Eats primary consumers. | 5. Tertiary/third level consumer: Top consumer.
3: Last One!!! | 6. Decomposer: Reduces organisms to chemicals. Producers and consumers that die are eaten by decomposers.
4: This is an example of a food chain.
5: This is an example of a food web.
8: Remember: The direction of the arrow is important!! | The arrow shows the direction of the energy flow in a feeding relation ship.
9: If the arrow pointed the other direction, the Gull would be eating the Coyote. Because this is not TV... that is not going to happen....
