FC: Geometry in Everyday Life Josh Miller Period 4

 Table of Contents | 1- Parallel Lines 15-Perpendicular bisector 2- Obtuse Angles 3- Tessellation 4- Hypotenuse 5-Right Angle 6-Scalene Triangle 7-Pythagorean Theorem 8-Perimeter 9-Octagon 10-Line Segment 11-Acute angle 12-Polygon 13-Base of cylinder. 14-Vertical Angles

Parallel Lines | Two lines that do not intersect and do not share a point. 1

Obtuse Angle | An angle that measures more than 90 degrees but less than 180. 2

Tesselation | Tesselations are geometric figures that are rotated or translated on a plane. 3

Hypotenuse | The longest side on a Right Triangle. You can find the Hypotenuse with the Pythagorean Theorem. 4

Right Angle | A right angle is an angle that measures 90 degrees. Perpendicular bisectors create Right angles 5

Scalene Triangle | Scalene Triangles have no congruent angles or sides. | 6

The hypotenuse of a right triangle is equal to the two other sides of a right triangle. a +b =c 7 | Pythagorean Theorem | 2 2 2

Perimeter | The perimeter is total length around the area of an object. 8

Octagon | An octagon is an eight sided polygon. This octagon is convex. 9

Line Segment | A line segment are two points on a line. Segment bisectors make line segments 10

Acute Angle | Acute angles are less than 90 degrees. if a triangle has a acute angle than it can be a acute triangles 11

Polygon | A polygon is made by line segments. There has to be at least three sides. can be convex or concave | 12

Base of a Cylinder | The base is the surface or plane that the objects sits on. 13

Vertical angles | two adjacent angles formed by intersecting of two straight lines. The opposite angles are congruent. 14

Perpendicular Bisector | A perpendicular bisector is a line that bisects another line to form a right angle. 15
