BC: All in all, Hippocrates was called the "Father of Medicine for many reasons stated previously that include, finding diseases were natural, classifying them, creating medicines, writing an oath, and opening public facilities. When you put what he did together, you get a man who left not only a legacy, but the truth in a field that was rarely studied in Before Common Era.

FC: Hippocrates, Father of Medicine-Knowing the Truth

How do we know the truth from lies? The answer is we don't. Some science principles are the truth because we have not found a thing to contest them. Maybe in a couple hundred years, Newton's law of gravity may not be the truth.

Hippocrates wanted to find the "truth" about death and how people died. Many people at the time just believed that people died at a young age from the gods but Hippocrates knew that was false. He studied, tested, and found that bad hygiene was the main reason people died at a young age 2,400 years ago.

The reason Hippocrates found out that diseases were natural and not from the gods was that he developed a correlation between medicine and philosophy.

Arthritis | Using his previous knowledge that some people became sick from diseases, he made a system of classifying them. This system was later adopted throughout Greece, so many Greeks believed that those names of diseases were the truth.

Hippocrates not only classified diseases, he created medicines for them as well. Although the medicines he created are rarely used today, people of ancient Greece thought that those remedies would work against diseases, thus making it the truth back then.

After conducting all his research, Hippocrates compiled all of his findings into one oath called the Hippocratic Oath. The Hippocratic Oath states how to treat a patient. One important line of the oath is a doctor should "do no harm." | A copy of the HIppocratic Oath.

The oath is still used today as a swearing in for people to become doctors. We believe that this oath is the truth because us humans still use this oath around the world, thus doctors treat their patients the same way Hippocrates did. | Doctors, to be, or reciting the Hippocratic Oath.

After all of his experiments and research, he opened a hospital that was the first of its kind because | it had the best doctors and it diagnosed and saved the most people in all of Greece.

Instead of retiring, Hippocrates opened the best medical school of his time. His medical school was the best one in the whole Balkan Peninsula because it was the most modern, meaning it taught its students many more ways to diagnose people and it taught them the new medicines rather than old remedies.
