FC: Geometric Transformations By Aimee Barnhart

Transformations are movements of geometric figures. Transformations can be in the form of a slide, flip, or turn.

A translation is a slide in any direction.

I remember that a translation is a slide because of the SL sound in the middle of the word tranSLation.

You will be able to translate figures on a coordinate plane.

A reflection is a flip. I remember that a reflection is a flip because of the FL sound found in the word reFLection.

You will be able to reflect figures on a coordinate plane.

 A rotation is a turn.

You will be able to rotate figures on a coordinate plane.

You decide, are these translations (slides), reflections (flips), or rotations (turns)?
