S: MRS. GAUER'S KINDERGARTEN CLASS 2011-2012
BC: We love you, Mrs. Gauer!
FC: Mrs. Gauer's Buckaroos | Calvary Baptist Day School Kindergarten 2011-2012
1: In August 2011, thirteen little faces entered our kindergarten classroom. Some were anxious, some were quiet, some were enthusiastic about their new adventure, but all were image bearers of our Heavenly Father. Later in the year, we were blessed with two more precious students who experienced the same emotions. Through these children I saw God’s creativity, gentleness, compassion, forgiveness, and humor. Like the threads that come together to weave a beautiful tapestry, these fifteen unique children have been purposely put together to create a beautiful reflection of our Heavenly Father. We have used the term “kindergarten family” all year. We do what families are designed to do. We take care of each other, love each other unconditionally, forgive each other, and accept each other for who God created us to be. My prayer and hope for each one of my kindergarten children is first, they come to know Christ. Second, they grow and pursue the design God has for their lives. Third, they share the love of Christ by serving others. And finally, they change their world for the glory of God. I have been so blessed by partnering with you in this important endeavor of educating your child. Thank you for sharing them with me this year. They have left a lasting impression on me. Have a blessed summer. In Christ’s Love, Yvonne Gauer | A Note from Mrs. Gauer...

25: FUN RANDOM STUFF Ellie said all the class parties rocked! Faith's mom said that one day when she gave Faith a hug and kiss and said, "I love you," Faith responded, "that's what Mrs. Gauer tells me everyday!" She also said Faith picks what shoes to wear based on which ones help her run faster than the boys! Beau Tucker's mom said that on the second day of school, Mrs. Gauer told her Beau Tucker was so polite! He told her, "Ladies first. But boys get to go first tomorrow!" Ella's tooth fell out one day when she was eating a peanut butter sandwich. When Rex's mom asked him his favorite part of kindergarten, he said, "LUNCH! Can I buy everyday? Jeffrey gets to buy everyday."

36: Some thoughts from the parents... Mike & Holly Shelton (Ellie): Mike and I's favorite thing about CBDS was the wonderful teachers and families. We were welcomed with open arms! Ellie has never come home with anything negative to say about her day. She feels loved and secure with all her classmates and teachers. The whole year has been such a blessing! Our favorite thing about Mrs. Gauer was the amount of care and love she shows each child. She has a mother's heart and also a heart to serve like Christ. We are beyond thankful for the way she has taught Ellie with creativity, kindness, and excellence. We could not have asked for a better Kindergarten teacher! Amy Willard (Ella): I have loved lunch duty. These sweet children make you feel so loved and welcome & it is a pleasure to help give Mrs. Gauer a little break! Ella has grown up so much in one short year. Her faith has blossomed, she has become an excellent reader & knowing how much she loves school & and is loved at CBDS is so comforting as parents. Tina Baity (Beau Tucker): Taking the kids to lunch on Friday's. I loved seeing their faces light-up when they would get ice cream! By the end of lunch, almost all of them had ice cream all over their face and clothes. They were always on their best behavior during lunch on Friday's because they loved earning extra marbles toward their next Marble Party!
37: Some thoughts from the parents... Andrea Kelton (Wyatt): I have two favorite memories. The first is the Easter Egg Hunt at the class Easter party. I was so impressed by how well the kids worked together. They would yell out for each other if they found an egg with another classmate's name on it. They were so willing and eager to help each other - even if that slowed down their own hunt. It was a blessing to witness firsthand the friendships that had been developed and the genuine care and concern they felt for each other. The second is lunch duty. I learned more about these children during lunch duty than any other event. They were always so excited to have a parent with them and so eager to share stories. And the manners on these children were exceptional! It was also very entertaining to hear them try to convince me why they did not need to finish their lunches before getting ice cream. Oh, the imaginations and determination these children possess! Michelle Taylor (Claire): I loved being lunch mom with Claire's little brother Chase. Best memory from lunch mom was my second time (was by myself) and having to ask Ella how to get to the cafeteria. :) Tammy Irwin (Pierce): I've had many wonderful experiences with this kindergarten class. One of my favorites is listening to them pray. It is so humbling. They don't try to impress their friends, worry with what to say or attempt to use "churchy" words. They simply talk to Jesus. I love that!
