1: The British were more advance in fighting and strategies. They also had more troops. With a professional army of 50,000 troops, British forces greatly outnumbered the continental army. One of their weaknesses was the distance between Britain and America. The Americans where often short of supplies. the Americans other great was their commander.

2: Madison combined five basic freedom into the first amendment. These are freedom of religion, speech ,of the press, and of assembly, and the right to potion the government the second amendment the right to bear arms, the third amendment quartering troops in homes. The forth is searches and seizures. The fifth is legal rights and protection.

3: One touch of nature makes the whole world kin. -William Shakespeare | On April 30th,1789 George Washington took the oath of office as the first president of the US. Congress eventually approved three departments a department of state was set up to handle relations with other countries. A department of war was establish to defend a treasury department was set up to oversee the nation finances, congress also created and attorney general to serve as the president's legal advisor, and a postmaster general to the head the postal office.

Free Africans usually held low-paying jobs. African Americans in the north lived freer lives. But blacks experience discrimination, or unequal treatment, everywhere they turned. whether they owned slaves or not, white southerners understood that their economy depended on cotton. slaves worked on farms of various sizes. 6: Different areas of the north had distinctive natural features. The jagged new England coast, for example, had hundreds of bays and intents that were perfect for use as harbors. The south economy was based on agriculture, and southerners were proud of it. Whitney's cotton engine, "called the cotton gin for short, was a simple machine that used rotating combs to separate cotton fiber from its seed. south seemed to rule the north in cotton. in 1700s, however, investors started to devise machines to make products more quickly and cheaply. Factories produce more good and made them affordable.

8: There is something of the marvelous in all things of nature. -Aristotle | The men who fought for the confederacy were proud defenders of southern Douglas after fort Sumter, “only patriots-and traitors.” president Lincoln's response to attack on fort Sumter was quick and clear. he called 75,000 volunteers to come forward to preserve the Union. To win the war, the north would have to invade and conquer the south. the south main weakness was an economy that could not support a long war. A lot of women supported the war

9: By the end of the civil war, Americans longed for peace. Reconstruction, or rebuilding the south and bringing the southern states back into the union, would not be easy. During reconstruction, slaves were granted the right to marry and live with family members from whom they had been separated. One of the black codes purpose was to limit the rights of freedom. The second one was to help planters find workers to replace their slaves. The third one was to keep freedmen at the bottom of the social order in the south. Sharecroppers, such as these shown growing cotton, rented their land from plantation owners. Most of them paid one third to one half of their crops back to the landowners.
