Dear Ralph, I don't understand how you are chief. I mean, you don't even hunt! You are too bust caring about your stupid smoke and fire to care about anything else that we need. especially meat. You are a horrible leader. You treat me and my hunters badly, even though we are just doing our job that YOU partially assigned us. You think you are better
than all of us here. Well you are most certainly are not in my book. I should be chief! You think you are all big and mighty with the conch. Well you are wrong. The conch means nothing. Just like you. Just because you were voted a leader, does not mean that you are worthy enough to be one. I will not follow you or your rules! Sucks to your rules and sucks to your wish of rescue!
Dear Jack, I still don't fully understand why you pick on me constantly. I have not done anything to you. I would appreciate it if you laid off a bit. You make me feel very left out and you never listen to me! We need to maintain order on this island if we want to have any chance of being rescued. You should also listen to Ralph more. He is the chief, you know. We all need to be one tribe again as well. You should come rejoin and actually listen to Ralph. We need rules to keep order and actually follow the rules instead of ignoring me all the time!
I absolutely hate when you all pick on me, yell at me, hit me, and ignore anything I have to say. Also, what you did to Simon was incredibly wrong. Do you not remember anything we were taught? There may not be any adults on this island, but it is still a necessity to keep composure and follow rules or else chaos will break out. It has already been quite chaotic, and that is why you must rejoin our tribe, And just a side note, I would really appreciate it if you stopped picking on me and gave me my specs back. Sincerely, Piggy
Schoolboys Alone on Island News Article
After a plane crash, schoolboys from 6-12 were stranded on an uninhabited island with no adults. Ralph and Piggy met and found a conch. Ralph blew the conch which assembled all the other boys. Jack then shows up with the rest of his choir. Ralph was voted chief. Ralph says that the most important thing is the fire which was started by Piggy's specs. They almost burn down the forest. Mulberry birthmark boy disappears. Ralph calls a meeting about how no one is helping with shelters and they are going to the bathroom in the wrong place. "When the meeting is over, they'd work for five minutes, then wander off or go hunting" (Golding 51).
The "Beastie" is mentioned. A ship comes, but the fire is out. Jack kills a pig. Jack goes off with his own tribe. "I'm not going to play any longer. Not with you" (Golding 127). Jack killed a pig and put its' head on a stick to give it to the beastie which is found by Simon. He called it the lord of the flies, because of all the noise made by flies. Jack comes back to steal fire and he holds a feast. Simon gets killed trying to tell them about the dead parachuter. Ralph and Piggy didn't kill him, but they didn't stop it either. Piggy gets his specs stolen by Jack. A boulder thrown by Roger kills Piggy and smashes the conch. Everyone else remaining gets rescued.
