2: Mark Zuckerberg | Mark Elliot Zukergerg was born on May 14th, 1984 in Dobbs Ferry, New York. His parents are Karen and Edward Zuckerburg. He has three sisters named Randi, Donna, and Arielle. He comes from a comfortable, well-educated background. His father ran a dentist office at the family's home. His mother, Karen, worked as a psychiatrist before the birth of her four children. Zuckerberg developed an interest in computers at an early age, creating a messaging program to be used in his father's dental office. Mark went to learn at Phillips Exeter Academy, an exclusive preparatory school in New Hampshire. In school he showed great skill in fencing he ended up being the team captain. Zuckerberg still remained fascinated by computers and continued to work on developing new programs. He became known for his talents for writing software, and some companies even expressed an interest in hiring the then-teenage computer programming expert.
3: After graduating from Exeter, Mark went to Harvard in the fall of 2002. Some of his fellow students recruited him to work for Harvard’s social networking site called Harvard Connection. A short time later he stopped working for the website to make his own social network site now known as Facebook. The creator of Harvard Connection claim that Zuckerberg stole their idea Mark has maintained that they were two very different types of social networks. Although an initial settlement was reached between the creators of the Harvard connection and Mark the legal dispute over this matter remains ongoing. Zuckerberg co-founded Facebook with Dustin Moskovitz, Chris Hughes, and Eduardo Saverin. The group ran the site—first called thefacebook.com—out of a dorm room at Harvard until June 2004. After his sophomore year, Mark dropped out of college to devote himself to Facebook full time, moving the company to Palo Alto, California. By the end of 2004, Facebook had a million users. In 2005, Zuckerberg's enterprise got a huge boost from the venture capital firm Accel Partners. Accel invested $12.7 million into the then-college-only network. Soon adding high school and international schools, Facebook had more than 5.5 million users in December 2005. The site soon attracted the interest of other companies, wanting to buy to be the popular online social hub. Not wanting to sell Facebook Zuckerberg turned down offers from Yahoo! and MTV. Instead he has focused on growing the site, continuously adding more features to Facebook just the other month they added a new profile set up. The company has opened up the site to outside developers, allowing them to offer their games through Facebook. There are more than 500 million users on Facebook today.

7: Teen Depression & Suicide Teens are not as happy as they may seem, they don’t have perfect lives. The happiest girl may be the one the most depressed. The girl that’s your best friend may be the one considering suicide. Teen suicide and depression is on the rise because of bullying, hard home situations, and relationship problems. It’s on the rise and it needs to be stopped! Bullying is a growing concern in schools. It can’t be completely stopped but people are working to stop it. All the mean stuff people say to others not only affect their school work but also their life. Teens are getting depressed more because of all the torment they get from others. Surveys indicate that as many as half of all children are bullied at some time during their school years, and at least 10% are bullied on a regular basis. If you get bullied you should get help because holding it in can lead to suicide and it won’t only kill you it will kill your family’s heart because they will be losing you. Everyone has had relationship problems or a hard break up but those are no reason to beat yourself up over it. You will find someone else. If you do end up depressed there are support groups out there. Just move on because you can’t hold on to someone forever. If you are considering suicide you should talk to someone about how you feel. If you don’t know who to talk to you can always call the suicide hotline the number are 1-800-SUICIDE (784-2433) or 1-800-273-TALK(8255) or if you are deaf 1-800-799-4TTY (4889). There is help out there so there is no need to kill yourself you have stuff to live for.
8: How to lose weight in 2 weeks Losing weight is a hard thing to do. There are many steps and processes to do and things you can and cannot eat. The very first thing you start doing is eating less junk food. You could switch unhealthy food snacks, for example, Yoplait yogurt. Yogurt is very good for your body and contains calcium. Calcium is a plus because it is good for your bones. Next step toward losing weight is to exercise. Exercise is important to staying fit and in shape. There is a ton of ways to exercise, for example running, playing a sport, and going out for walks, going to the gym, or even jumping on a trampoline. If you exercise more and eat healthy, then the older you get the happier your body, heart, and mind will be!!! The last step is usually the even hardest for people. It is temptation. Temptation is hard to control when you are around a lot of sweetening/ greasy foods. A lot are hard to pass by, but try to stick with fruit and veggies. Also try and stay away from unhealthy drinks like soda and alcohol. Drinking juices and sports water are much better. You could even replace your usual, soda drinking, to a usual, fruit smoothie drinking. A little bit helps a lot!
9: Hockey Hockey is a very athletic sport. There are two different types of hockey, ice hockey and field hockey. Ice hockey is played by boys and girls but ice hockey is a very physical sport and can get dirty sometimes. Field hockey is played by boys and girls but is usually played by girls. Both ice hockey and field hockey are similar because they deal with a stick and a ball/puck except ice hockey is on ice and field hockey is on a field. My opinion about field hockey is that I believe field hockey should be played by just girls and I have some reasons why to back it up. My sister, Maggie, is a great field hockey player and plays for the school district and key state. Key state is a travel field hockey team that travels around the U.S. and plays against different teams. Sometime I will travel with her and cheer her on. I noticed that while my sister was playing, there was a boy’s field hockey team playing too. I was surprised that I saw boy’s playing because I never knew that they played. There were only a few boys’ teams about ten-fifteen in the whole competition. The girl’s teams were about fifteen-twenty teams in each division!! The reason why I think field hockey should be just a girl sport is because a boy’s field hockey team isn’t that popular. I never even knew that boy’s play field hockey because when someone says the word field hockey, I imagine girls playing and probably a lot of other people do too. Some other reason why I think that field hockey is mainly a girl’s sport is because school districts do not hold boy’s field hockey teams. I play field hockey for the school and I play against other school districts and none of them have a boy’s field hockey team. Other people may not care whether field hockey should be a boys/girls sport and they are true. Yes it doesn’t matter that much but to me that is what my opinion is.

20: Pretty Little Liars Change can be a good thing, but also it can have devastating effects. Losing a friend is a big change, but is also a very hard thing. Let’s say five girls, best friends, lost their relationship because of the loss of a murdered friend. Now what would you call that?? I would call it transform. Sometimes you have to let nature do its beauty. This series, Pretty Little Liars, is a huge mystery about a murdered 7th grader named, Alyson. Now, the four other teenage girls in the series (Aria, Spencer, Hannah, and Emily) are still trying to find out the mystery of their old, best friend. A little bit later in the first book, the girls are getting threatening text messages, of an unknown caller signed, -A. The messages that they are receiving are their old secrets that they had only told, Alyson. The girls now do not only have one mystery to find out, but two. Who is sending them these text messages and also why, plus, who murdered, Alyson. If you are the kind of person who likes a good mystery, then you should read the Pretty Little Liars. This series has a great mix of mystery, romance, and drama. Each girl in the series has some major problems/issues they are trying to work out for example, Emily, has some close, strong, feelings for other people the same gender as her. Hanna has an obnoxious step-sister that tries to get her in trouble and tells her father about Hanna’s anorexia. Aria is in LOVE with a guy that she met at a bar, who now happens to be her English teacher. Lastly, Spencer thinks she is adopted and her house gets burned down plus her parents get divorced. There is much, much, MUCH, more to the series that it will be too hard to stop reading if you are in the middle of it. Now that I have explained a little bit about the series, I hope you are interested and read at least the first book because I have a strong feeling it will suck you right in, just like it did to me!

24: PARANORMALACY | By: Kiersten White Paranormalcy is about Evie a 15 year old girl who works for the Paranormal Containment Agency. Since she has a special skill and can see through glamours –Paranormals “skin” that covers their real monster look- her job is to capture paranormals. She has lived at the PCA most of her life. She was found wandering in a graveyard while PCA was looking for a paranormal. They took her in because she said she saw a vampire. The only way she would have known was if she could see through glamours. She has been living in PCA headquarters ever since. One day she went to Raquel’s office because the alarm was going off. She saw that under the skin it was clear, she then tasered “Raquel” because she knew it wasn’t her. It was a clear paranormal that called himself Lend. He could morph into any person. In this book they go through many physical and emotional battles. I liked this book because of all the suspense it put me in. It made me not want to put the book down –that’s why I finished it in two days-. It had romance and hardships. I would rate it a 5 out of 5. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sci-fi books or romance books.
26: The Royal Wedding | Everyone has heard about the upcoming wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton. If you haven't you must have been living under a rock for the past year. They announced their engagement on November 16th. They are set to be married on April 29th at 11 am Kate and Will’s romance blossomed at University, where they regularly saw each other in lectures and tutorials and around the University Halls. By the time they entered their second year at University, Kate and Will had moved in together, as flatmates, but insisted they were only friends. However the pair soon became closer and started developing feelings for each other.
27: Kate and Will tried to keep their relationship a secret from the press, but when they were spotted kissing on the slopes of the Casanna Alp whilst on a skiing holiday in Switzerland, in January 2006, they could no longer hide Catherine Elizabeth Middleton” may not be as Royal as Prince William but she was still given every opportunity by her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton. Catherine Kate Middleton was born at Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, Berkshire, the first of three children and was raised in Bucklebury, a quiet English village. Kate’s father, Michael, was an airline officer and her mother, Carole, was a flight attendant, before they founded their own business “Party Pieces”.
28: Prince William Prince William is the elder son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. He was born on 21 June 1982 at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London. Although Prince William came from a privileged background his mother, Princess Diana, aspired for William and his younger brother Harry, to lead as normal a life as possible. Princess Diana did her best to give her children a sense of fun and freedom. However Prince William’s childhood was affected by some traumatic events. In 1996, after a period of separation, his parents divorced. The following year, Princess Diana tragically died in a road traffic accident in Paris. William was only 15 years old.
29: Guest List The guest list for the royal wedding of course is esclusive. Some of the popular people invited are David and Victoria Beckham, Kanye West, Sir Elton John and some of there old flings are even invited. But yet President Obama and Michelle Obama aren't invited neither is the President of France. Food Their wedding cake is going to be made byFiona Cairns. A British "floral theme" will adorn the creation. It is going to be a multi-tiered, traditional fruitcake.
30: Queen Elizabeth's head chef may be as eager for the royal wedding day to arrive as Prince William and Kate Middleton themselves. Mark Flanagan says he and his 21-strong team at Buckingham Palace are "excited" about treating the 600 guests to canapés made from the best of British produce. He's keeping mom on the full menu for April 29, but the selection of canapés (two-bite decorative finger foods) could include smoked salmon on a beetroot blini, confit duck-leg terrine with smoked duck and pear chutney, and quail eggs with celery salt, goat cheese, caramelized walnuts and parmesan crisp As the day nears, tensions will "ramp up," Mark says. "Any canapé event is all about fine detail at the last minute. So there's lots we would like to do earlier [but] we really can't do until we see the guests coming into the room." Royal pastry chef Kathryn Boyden, will have a bit more prep time for the sweets, (which may include dark, milk and white truffles and blood orange pate de fruit) though it will prevent her and her team of three from taking in the festivities.

34: Shows Nowadays kids watch a variation of different shows. For my survey I chose four shows that I hear people talking about a lot. Glee is an up and coming show that started May 19, 2009. It is about a high school glee club which goes along with my audience of teenagers. Glee is rated #1 on tv.com under comedy shows. There are new episodes every Tuesday at 8 on FOX. Another one of my choices is sports. All types of sports are popular in all ages. I don’t know many people that don’t pay attention to a sport. Pretty Lil’ Liars is not only one of my favorite shows but also a great book series. It’s more popular in girls and is #2 on tv.com in most popular kids/teens shows. It is returning this summer to ABC Family. My last show I chose was Jersey Shore. It’s a reality TV show about 8 roommates from the Italian decent. There are hookups, break ups and make ups in this show. There is a lot of drama but also a lot of humor. It is rated #4 on tv.com under most popular celebrity shows. Right now they are filming in Italy and the show should be returning soon. But you can watch reruns on MTV. Results Glee- 5 Sports-5 Pretty Lil’ Liars- 3 Jersey Shore- 8 | Favorite Shows in Teens
35: Hannah Reddecliff | Rebuilding Lives Almost a month after a devastating farm house caught on fire, the rest of the family and community is rebuilding their house. Seven children died in the blazing fire although 1 child along with the parents made it through. After 10 pm on March 8th, Christina, 11, Brady, 7, Isabelle, 9, Heidi, 6, Hannah, 4, Miranda, 1, and nine-month-old Samantha died in this awful fire. Three-year-old Leah ran outside to the barn to tell her mother about the blazing fire. The children’s mother was milking cows and their father was sleeping in a milk truck, unaware there was a horrible, disastrous fire. The mother ran straight to the house and noticed the whole home was burning down, second by second. The mother tried to go in to save her loved ones, but the smoke and blazing fire was just too much to breathe in. She tried to get a hold of her husband, but he was nearly a mile away. So she ran to a neighbor’s house and made sure they called 911. Help was on the way but not soon enough because even if the firefighters had gotten there a bit earlier, the smoke was just too hard to even bare a second breathing in. The whole community decided to come together and try to make things easier for the family. They began building a new home for the family. The father, Ted has asked for some safer features in their home, for example, a window with a clear view of their barn, a sprinkler system and an extra staircase leading up to the playroom. The family expects to move into their new home in two months after the devastating tragedy. The nine-month-old girl, Samantha, was found in her crib while the other six children were in each other’s bedrooms. All died from smoke inhalation. Family members came to help them with their loss and each of them explains how they miss the noise of the family’s excited children. The uncle says, “In the evenings and mornings when I get here are probably the worst.” The couple is living with their only child who has made it through the fire, Leah, in a mobile home just a few feet away from the charred debris of their former home and hopes to move in soon. More than $100,000 has been donated to help the family with their troubles and to also help rebuild their home. Ted explains that you don’t hear the kids jumping and screaming anymore. It’s a little rough. The parents go into Samantha’s old bedroom and find her burnt crib just broken into bits of pieces in the corner of the room. One of their neighbors, Deana Doran said she saw the first floor of the home burning and immediately went to the phone and called 911. After Deana called she went outside to check up on the house and saw the flames spreading quickly throughout the home. Yes, it is very devastating, the neighbors explain, but we all pitch in time to help the family in their process of rebuilding a new home.
