1: Sacajawea was important because she made Lewis and Clark's expedition possible.
2: She made there expedition possible by translating, teaching them new things about the land and many more things that made life possible.
3: Sacajawea was there helping Lewis and Clark all the way on the expedition.
4: She would translate between her tribe (The Shoshone) and Lewis and Clark when they came to get horses for the journey.
5: Not only did she help the men on the journey she took care of her daughter Lizette.
6: Sacajawea also taught Lewis and Clark about the new plants and animals.
7: One day when the boat flipped over Sacajawea saved the important papers and other important objects.
8: Not only was she important then, people today still realize how much she impacted the expedition. Here are some ways people have honored her legacy.
9: Livingston, Montana This is one of the few ways people have honored Sacajawea
10: There is also a state park in Pasco, Washington to honor Sacajawea.
11: In Bozeman, Montana there is a Middle School named after Sacajawea.
12: They started making the Sacajawea dollar coin every year since 2000.
