6: Port Aransas City | Port Aransas is the only established town on Mustang Island.It enhabits 8 miles of the 18 mile long barrier island.According to the 2010 census its population is 3,480 people. Port Aransas is a city in Nueces County, Texas.Mustang Island is located north of Padre Island, the longest barrier in the world.

7: Mount Bonnell Land form | Mount Bonnell, also known as Covert Park is a park next to Lake Austin. This has been a popular tourist destination since the 1850's.Mount Bonnell is 0.31 miles long and dogs are allowed but bikes are not. The elevation at its peak is about 790 feet above sea level.Mount Bonnell is known to have been named after George W. Bonnell.

8: Texas State Cemetery Historical Importance | The Texas State Cemetery is located about one mile east of the state capitol. Between Navasota and Comal streets and is 18 acres. This cemetery provides a permanent resting place for people who have made a significant contribution to Texas.It was expanded into a confederate cemetery during the Civil War. It is divided into two sections, the smaller one has about 900 graves and the larger one has about 2,000.

9: Dr. Pepper Museum Recreation | The Dr. Pepper Museum is located in Waco Texas on 300 South 5th Street. It was founded in 1988 to educate and entertain the general public through the objects relevant to the history of Dr. Pepper. The museum opened in May 1991and has hosted over 1,200,000 visitors. Besides an operational fountain,also recreates the soda where Dr. Charles Alderton first mixed the delicious flavors that make up Dr. Pepper.

10: Edwards Plateau Landform | The Edwards Plateau is in South Central Texas, east of the Pecos river and west of the Colorado river. It is the southernmost unit of the Great Plains and is an erosional region with thin soil over beveled Comanchean limestone exposures that extend as limestone beds.Its distinctive features, especially the lack of deep soils suitable for farming, cause the Edwards Plateau to be an amazing grazing region of Texas.

11: Fort Worth City | Fort Worth Texas is the 16th largest city in the United States. It is located in North Central Texas just southeast of the panhandle. This city covers nearly 300 square miles. According to the 2010 census there are approximately 741,206 people living in Fort Worth. The city was established in 1849 as an Army outpost on a bluff overlooking the Trinity River.

12: Guadalupe Mountains Landform | th | The Guadalupe Mountains are located about 110 miles east of El Paso Texas. It has the Guadalupe Peak which is the highest point in Texas at 8,749 feet. Produces plants from cactus,creosote,and maple trees to juniper and ponderosa pine.Some animals that live in these mountains are jackrabbits, mule deer and elk as the elevations increase. The park contains the world's largest and most significant Permian limestone fossil reef.

13: Sam Houston Statue Historical Importance | The Sam Houston Statue is located in Huntsville Texas.This statue is 67 ft. tall and named "A Tribute To Courage". It watches over the Huntsville Visitors Center on highway 75.The statue is the tallest statue in the world of an American hero.It was built after to celebrate Sam Houston "The Father of Texas".

14: Inks Lake Water | Inks Lake is located in Burnet Texas about 60 miles northwest of Austin.It is 1201 acres long and provides flood control in tandem.Has Several species of fish and wildlife.This lake is about 888 ft deep and has no significant vegetation.

15: San Jacinto Battleground Historical Importance | The San Jacinto Battleground is located in Harris County Texas,just minutes from downtown Houston. It holds a significant responsibility to preserve the proud history of the state of Texas. The famous battle that brought independence to Texas was fought at this battleground. This battleground contains the San Jacinto monument,the battleship Texas and of course the battleground!

16: Kilgore College University | Kilgore College is located in Kilgore Texas on 1100 Broadway. It is a community college and has an annual enrollment of 5,000 students.The school was established in 1935 at the height of East Texas oil boom.The school is famous for the Kilgore Rangerettes, the first precision drill team in the world created in 1940.The Rangerettes are known for their amazingly high kicks and wonderful dances.

17: Lake Abilene Water | Lake Abilene is located on Elm Creek 20 miles south of Abilene Texas.This lake is regulated as a community fishing lake.The maximum depth of the lake is 25 feet and the sufrace area is about 595 acres.Lake Abilene was impounded in 1921.The water is usually very muddy and prone to long periods of water dropping levels.

18: University of Texas Marine Science Institute University | The University of Texas Marine Science Institute is located in port Aransas Texas,on 750 Channel View Dr.The institute is referred to as the university's "Window on the Sea." The institute has a resident staff of about 100, including scientists and support personnel.The visitor center includes an aquarium with Gulf life and plants.

19: University of North Texas Universities | The University of North Texas is located in Denton, Texas. UNT offers a four year public reasearch university. It is also known as the "Mean Green" university. UNT provides schooling for 36,000 students a year. There mascot the eagle.

20: Odessa City | Odessa is located mostly in Ector County, although a small part of Odessa is in Midland County. Odessa's population consists of 99,940. Odessa is home to the West Texas Roughnecks their indoor football team. Oil began to draw residents in Odessa in 1925. As a result the new population increased by 10,000.

21: Pecos River Water | The Pecos river is located on the Texas- Mexico border. It is also 55.3 miles long and is not your relaxing trip to the river. Before emptying into the Rio Grande River the Pecos passes by many county's and is right below Lake Amistad. The name Pecos came from the Spanish name Pecos Pueblo. It flows in Texas and also in New Mexico.

22: Quitman Mountains Landfrom | The Quitman mountains are located in Hudspeth County, Texas. The Quitmans climb up to 6,686 feet above sea level! These type of moutains are also known as peak mountains. Water that flows on the mountains flow into the Rio Grand, The Gulf of Mexico, and the Atlantic Ocean. The Quitmans are steep, rocky, and havebox canyons.

23: Red River Water | The Red River is located beetween the border of Texas and Oklahoma. This is the second largest river system associated with The Lone Star State.It is also the largest river system associated with Oklahoma. The length of the Red River is 1,360 miles long! The River flows through Texas, Louisana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

24: San Marcos City | San Marcos Texas is is located beetween Austin and San Antonio. It was fonded on the banks on the San Marcos River. It is home to the Texas State Univerisity Bobcats. The population is 52,927. It is also home to the Aquarena Center.

25: Texas A&M University University | Texas A&M University is located in College Station, Texas. It is the sixth largest university in the United States! The school also ranks in the top 20 research institutes in animal cloning and petroleum engineering. The team colors are maroon and white to represent their mascot Reveille VII a dog. Their incoming population of the school is about 50,000 students.

26: Unity Theater Recreation | Unity Theater is located in Brenham, Texas. It was founded in 1995 by two sisters Teresa Beckers and Gretchen Jones. The theater's first main show was on February 9,1996. In 1999 Unity Theater became and important regional theater. Itis now their 17th year of running The Unity Theater.

27: Volente Beach Recreation | Volente Beach is located in Austin, Texas. It offers a fun way for family's to play in the water. Their are water slides, and their is a small pool. They also have their own sandy beach front. Boat rentals are available to anyone who wants to ride on the lake by Volente Beach.

28: Waco City | Waco Texas is located between Temple and Arlington Texas. Their population is abut 124,805 people. Waco's nickname is the "Heart of Texas" because it's near the middle of Texas. Waco was founded in 1849. Baylor University is located in Waco. Waco is known for their Dr. Pepper museum and the Texas Sport Hall of fame.

29: Youkum County Park Recreation | Youkum County Park is located in Denver City, Texas. It has great camping spots and also and R.V. parking and camping place. their is also lodging and many special attractions. It was established in 1839 when the Wason Oil Pool developed. The park also has a playground and a golf course.

30: XIT Historical Museum Historical Importance | The XIT Historical Museum is located in Dalhart, Texas. It is used to preserve culture of one of the best known ranches in of the American West. The museum models what the ranch would look like today. They exhibit an early model of a kitchen, parlor, bedroom , and inspirational chapel. They also exhibit hundreds of old photographs, collections of guns, hats, and cameras.

31: San Antonio Zoo Recreation | The San Antonio Zoo is located in San Antonio. What is now the San Antonio Zoo used to be a small city in 1914. One of the small cities main citizens placed bison, lions, deer, monkeys, and bears in the small town. This caused the town to become what it is today. The zoo was founded in 1929. They have more than 3,500 animals located at this zoo.
