Dear Grandpa, When Miss Sims asked us to write to the two most influential people in our lives, the first person that came to mind was you! I love you so much and you have helped me through a lot. It has been a while since we have talked and I wish I could talk to you again. We have been through a lot. You truly are the best grandpa anyone could ever ask for! From the Saturdays you would take me to the dump and “the yoo-hoo store” to when we all got together on Christmas! Even though I don’t remember the first time I met you I’ve always loved you and looked up to you like you were my older brother. Every Saturday morning you would come to our house and grab a pancake (even though you had already eaten) and take me off to the dump and we would take the trash. Afterwards you would take me by “the yoo-hoo store” and get a yoo-hoo. We had fun every time we would go (which was every Saturday) and then would drive home to watch Saturday morning cartoons. One of the fondest memories I’ve had with you is just about every week you would take me to McDonald’s. Now this doesn’t seem like very much but when we would get two apple pies and eat them in the parking lot that really left memories. You have influenced me in unimaginable ways. You taught me how to love and have fun. You would always thank the drive through person and they would smile because most of the time they knew you. Yes you did know everybody. I have always loved that about you: no matter where we would go you would run into somebody you knew or meet somebody new. Again this taught me how to love people. Pawpaw you were like my best friend when I was little (and when you was alive) and I looked up to you very much. It broke my heart to hear the news of your death in 2003. I cried for weeks and wish I could see you again. Well I will see you again when I get to Heaven. We can run, laugh, and play just like before. That will be fun and we would joke around. You had no enemies and everyone that met you loved you. Momma was heart - broken when you passed on too, just like me. I love you pawpaw! You, Pawpaw Ben were my best friend, my role model, and simply my grandpa. I am so blessed to have a pawpaw like you and so glad you’re my grandpaw. I miss you very much and always will. Every time I think about how much we spent time together I get chills and cry. We have truly been through a lot and I love you so much! Love your grandson, Travis

Interview | The person that I Interviewed was my pastor, Dr. Cliff Black. Dr. Black has been a great inspiration to me, and thousands of others. He has faced, anything imaginable and has over come them by the powerful grace of God and I will always use his story to encourage me along and help me through each day. He has touched so many lives, saved so many people, and loved everyone as he has me. Once he said this is his motto that he lives by and always will live by, to Love God and Love Others Everyday in Everyway.

My Family's History | Travis – A toll collector Parrish – From Paris..?. My family crest - The Parrish coat of arms came into existence centuries ago. The process of creating coats of arms (also often called family crests) began in the eight and ninth centuries. The new art of Heraldry made it possible for families and even individual family members to have their very own coat of arms My family’s place of origin is Paris France. My families first immigrated in 1852, there were only 3 of them. My life expectancy is around 70, 72. Top occupation – Farmer , :-/

My Family Tradition My Family Tradition is me and my family get up every Christmas morning (after I drag everyone out of bed) and we open presents at my house, and then we load up and go over to my grandma’s house and have Christmas breakfast and open presents with my cousin his girlfriend, aunt her husband, and my family. Then after that we usually go to pigeon forge and stay in this one hotel that we like and always stay at every year. We usually do different things in pigeon forge and it’s a lot of fun. About new years we head to Raleigh to my dad’s sister’s house and we have a “Christmas” lunch and open presents there with my dad’s sister her boyfriend, her son and my grandparents, and of course my family. Christmas is usually busy for my family and we have a good time spending it with each other and we love each other very much. This is one of the reasons why I love Christmas and why it’s my favorite holiday. It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

My Favorite Place is: Walt Disney World | Walt Disney World is Located in Orlando, Florida | Disney is a magical place with many characters from movies like mickey and Minnie walking around and In one of the parks there is the biggest castle that you have ever seen it has lights shining on it and in another theme park there is this giant Icon that is a giant golf ball it's called a geodesic sphere it is really large. This place is so special to me because they suite anyones needs and love to help. 22: Self Image Venn Diagram

Carbon Footprint One think that I can do to reduce my carbon footprint is I can spend less time on my laptop, while watching T.V., while charging a phone, while texting, with lights on everywhere using so much energy. I can reduce this by cutting down on how much I use this, this in which every little bit can save the environment. In the summer what we can do is turn everything off during the day and spend the days outside enjoying beautiful weather instead of being couped up in my room being a little energy waster monster man, that regrets sunlight. If I can get my whole family to do this, then we would save a lot of energy considering those things are a normal day for us all, we all are wired and plugged in which there is nothing wrong with but if we were to cut down on our wired use and save energy then we could save the environment, one little step at a time.

My wildest dream is building and owning a theme park in Lenoir, NC. This is my wildest dream because I have always loved theme parks and I want a place closer to my hometown than Carowinds in charlotte. This will create many jobs for people that may have lost jobs and are struggling from the closing of the furniture Factories. It will also be a reasonable price other than the high prices of other parks and the food will be reasonable and not $4.00 for a soft drink. I want to achieve this dream before I die. I think this will be a great accomplishment and I want to be remembered that I have achieved many things without being told no. My obstacles are money, this will be much, much money and I would have to have help financing all of this. To overcome these obstacles I will need to raise much money and create a borrowing plan where I will pay back the people that I borrowed from in an okay amount of time. I think this is always been what I have always wanted to do this and I think I will strive to achieve it and will not stop at anything to do this. I will always have faith that I can do this and not give up to achieve my dream.

Letter to my self now | Dear Travis, You have done many things and I am so proud of you! You have won the Soil and Water Speech Competition. You have gone to Walt Disney World twice and going again soon. You became saved on April 17th 2005 and you live your life for the Lord. Congratulations on getting in Caldwell Early College High School. Things I would like to improve on is not procrastinating I am like the biggest procrastinator. I do get my work done but I still procrastinate. I need to start trusting in The Lord more I worry way too much and worrying is a sin which is bad. I always long to live for him. Also I have a big mouth sometimes and need to keep it shut (I know this sounds like I’m putting my self down but I’m not I’m just stating facts.) These are the things I would like to improve on. So We can do it!! WHOO!! Sincerely, Travis (self)

Letter to my self when I'm old | Letter to myself at age 50. Dear Travis, Good job! You have graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in the Bachelor of Arts. You have an undergrad degree in Math and History. You also went to UNCW for a degree in Marine Biology. You went to the Early College for 5 years as high school and that included 2 years of a community college. So then you transferred to Appalachian for your bachelor's degree in Teaching. You now live in Caldwell County, NC and work at CECHS. Which this is where you gradated high school. You work with some of your teachers that you had while you were in high school. You live a large house in Virginia Acres. You are married and have one child named, Walter. (Or Walt for short). By now you have taken a trip to Walt Disney World every year since you graduated from college. You certainly love Disney World and love to go back every time. You have one pet. His name is Roy and he is a Black Labrador retriever. The cars you and your wife drive are a Ford Expedition and a Chevrolet Suburban. Yours is the Suburban. These are large cars and when your son gets older you would need to drive him and his friends around. SO your life is awesome and you love it! Sincerely, Travis Parrish (self)

Self Reflection Project | What I enjoyed about who am I is that we got to find out who we are, and use technology to do all this. My favorite pieces were the 50's. The 50 I can and 50 favorites also the favorite places. What I would do different is, well there isn't much I would change except take out the technology timeline. That's almost impossible to do, thankfully I did do it. What I would take out would be the technology timeline. What I loved about who am I is the fact that we got to learn more about who we are and what we are about and it really was a self Esteem Building activity.
