FC: Andrew Jackson was the 7th president of the United States. | "Any man worth his salt will stick up for what he believes right, but it takes a slightly better man to acknowledge instantly and without reservation that he is in error."

1: Andrew Jackson was born on March 15, 1767. His parents were Scots-Irish. Jackson's father died three weeks before he was born. | Jackson attended an old field school. Though he was just a hoy, he fought in the Battle of Hanging Rock. He was captured and imprisoned by the British. He was elected President in 1828. He was reelected in 1832.In 1837, he retired.

3: Andrew Jackson is on the 20 dollar bill.

4: Jackson's nickname was Old Hickory. | He defeated the Creek Indians at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend, And the British at the Battle of New Orleans. | The period of 1830-1850 later became known as the Jasksonian democracy.

5: Jackson married Rachel Donelson Robards. They had no children. | Jackson dies on June 8,1845. He is buried at the Hermitage in Nashville, Tennesse.
