2: Muffin Tin Cheesy Biscuits (from the Mumford Family) 1 1/2 c. Bisquick 3/4 c. buttermilk 3 Tbsp. sugar 1/4 tsp. vanilla 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Preheat oven to 425. Stir together all ingredients just until combined. Scoop into a greased mini-muffin pan. Bake 12-15 minutes, until golden. | Sloppy Joes (from the Harris Family) Brown 1 lb ground beef. Add 1 cups chopped onion and 1 cup chopped celery. Simmer a few minutes. Ad 1 can tomato soup and 1 can tomato paste. Simmer hour. Add 2 Tbls barbecue sauce, 2 tsp salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot on hamburger buns. | Bishop, thanks for everything you have done for our ward. We will miss you! 3: 1 bunch of asparagus spears 2-3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced 2-3 T. of olive oil salt and pepper Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Snap off woody bases from asparagus (an inch or two off the bottom). Place asparagus and garlic on a cookie sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss to coat. Roast for 10-15 minutes, stirring once or twice. Serve immediately. | Garlic-Roasted Asparagus | Dear Bishop, Maria Angeles and Francisco, It has been a joy to be in your ward and to serve with you. Bishop we have loved that way that you go right at the things that need to be done and get them done. You are obedient and you do things by the handbook. It was refreshing to serve with a leader so in line and motivated to do right. Plus, you were fun and always up for anything! David and I both learned from seeing you call me as the Young Women's president. You called us in there not knowing who was to be called and then relied on the spirit to guide you in the moment. It was a great display of faith and a lesson to us in truly working by the spirit. Maria Angeles, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve with you. I needed your knowledge and your love for our Spanish families. Thank you for serving so faithfully and for always being willing to give rides and do whatever asked. I KNOW that you have made a difference here with the young women! Francisco you are a fun little boy! You have this great energy and desire to learn and be involved. Keep learning and growing and someday you will be a wonderful missionary! We hope that you will find a lot of joy and friends and wonderful experiences in Idaho. 4: Chocolate Chip Cheese & Chopped Beef Cheese Balls | Chocolate Chip Cheese BAll 3 package cream cheese, at room temperature 1 cup butter, at room temperature 1 cup confectioners' sugar 4 tbls brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 11oz package miniature semisweet chocolate chips 2 cups finely chopped pecans or walnuts Directions 1.In a medium bowl, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Mix in confectioners' sugar, brown sugar and vanilla. Stir in chocolate chips. Cover, and chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours. 2. Shape chilled cream cheese mixture into a ball. Wrap with plastic, and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour. 3. Roll the cheese ball in finely chopped pecans before serving. Serve with graham crackers, vanilla wafers or Ritz type crackers Chopped Beef Cheese Ball 3 packages Buddig brand sliced beef (in packaged deli meats section) 3 packages cream cheese, at room temperature 8-10 stalks green onions (more or less to taste) 3 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 1/2 tsp. Accent (salt substitute) Directions 1. Finely chop beef and green onion 2. Beat together all ingredients. Cover, and chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours. 3. Shape chilled cream cheese mixture into a ball. Wrap with plastic, and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour. This tastes even better if left to mellow for 24hrs before serving. | Bailey Family | What a delight and joy it has been to know your family. 5: Ingredients 1 pound ground beef 1/2 cup uncooked long grain white rice 1 cup water 6 green bell peppers 2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon onion powder salt and pepper to taste 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Directions 1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 2.Place the rice and water in a saucepan, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and cook 20 minutes. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the beef until evenly browned. 3.Remove and discard the tops, seeds, and membranes of the bell peppers. Arrange peppers in a baking dish with the hollowed sides facing upward. (Slice the bottoms of the peppers if necessary so that they will stand upright.) 4.In a bowl, mix the browned beef, cooked rice, 1 can tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Spoon an equal amount of the mixture into each hollowed pepper. Mix the remaining tomato sauce and Italian seasoning in a bowl, and pour over the stuffed peppers. 5.Bake 1 hour in the preheated oven, basting with sauce every 15 minutes, until the peppers are tender. | Armstrong Family | Stuffed Peppers | Good luck in Boise. 6: Cowboy Quesadillas 1/2 C white rice 1/3 C black beans 1 cup diced cooked chicken 1/3 C fresh frozen corn kernels (no need to thaw) 2/3 C diced tomato 3 Tbs sliced green onion 1 1/2 C shredded cheese (any type or combo you like) 1/4 C bbq sauce 6 small tortillas (fajita size, about 6) Dipping Sauce -equal parts bbq sauce and ranch dressing Combine rice, beans, chicken, corn, tomato, green onion and shredded cheese. Add bbq sauce and stir to combine. Place about 1/3 C of mixture on half of each tortilla and fold over to close. Heat a skillet to medium heat on the stove top. When hot, spray lightly with cooking spray, or drizzle with canola or olive oil. Place quesadillas in pan and cook for 2-4 minutes or until golden brown and slightly crisp. Flip and repeat on opposite side. Cool for a few minutes and then serve with BBQ-Ranch dipping sauce. | Dear Guthomson Family, We are so grateful to have had you as a part of our lives, and will miss each of you dearly. Mix everything in a big bowl gently so that you don't crush the cherries and chill for an hour. | nope | fast | itself | This is something I make a lot for desert. It is poofy and fruity without being too sweet...
8: Mumford Home | Taco Soup | 1 lb. ground beef (or turkey) 1/2 onion 1 pkg taco seasoning 1 can corn 1 can diced tomatoes 1 can black beans shredded cheddar tortilla chips (optional) sour ream (optional) Brown beef in soup pot, drain. Chop onions and add to meat with taco seasoning. Cook until onions are soft. Add cans of corn, tomatoes, beans and 1 -2 cups water. Cook 10-15 minutes on medium. Top with sour cream and cheese and eat with chips. | It has been such a privilege to be in your ward and serve with you. Something we will always remember is your knowledge of the handbook and emphasis on member missionary work. How grateful we are that a member missionary shared the Gospel with you and blessed all of our lives by blessing yours. May we all strive to be such missionaries. 9: Sister Pat White | Homemade Vegetable Soup (Ingredients may vary depending on what you have on hand) 1 small cabbage (cut into pieces) 1 med. onion (cut into pieces) 6 carrots (slice or cut into small pieces) 2 - 3 cans of tomatoes (diced or in pieces) 2 cans of green beans (or fresh or frozen) 2 cans of corn (or fresh or frozen) 2 cubes of chicken bouillon Spices: salt, pepper, celery salt, oregano, basil, rosemary & garlic. Add chicken bouillon to 5-6 cups of boiling water. Mix well and add onions and carrots. Add spices to taste. When almost done, add rest of vegetables and simmer until tender. | Bishop and Mrs. Guthomson and Francisco: I have only known you a short time but I feel your spirit of love, kindness, and caring for others whenever I have been around you. Thank you Brother Bain | BETTY CROCKER SCALLOPED POTATOES 6 medium potatoes (2 pounds), cut into 1/8-inch slices 1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed cream of onion soup 1 can (5 ounces) evaporated milk (2/3 cup) 1 jar (2 ounces) diced pimientos, undrained 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1. Spray inside of 3 1/2- to 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. 2. Mix all ingredients; pour into cooker. 3. Cover and cook on low heat setting 10 to 12 hours or until potatoes are tender. Makes 8 servings

The Nielson Family (Mike, Nikki, Caleb, Valerie, Kayleena, and Tiffany) | Tater Tot Casserole | Since you will be living in Idaho--this is a must have recipe-- using POTATOES!!! (also it is a family favorite) | 1 bag of tater tots (2 lb.) 1 &1/2 lbs. hamburger (browned) (I usually use 1 lb.) 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup (10oz. cans) 1 can evaporated milk 1 onion chopped (or 1/2 onion) 1 cup celery chopped (optional--I usually don't use it) 1 cup grated cheese (I usually use more--I love cheese!) Grease a 9x13 pan, preheat oven to 350 degrees. While oven preheats put in tater tots to help thaw out. In pan, brown hamburger, onions, and celery. Drain grease if any, and add crm of mushroom soup, and evap. milk. Pour over tater tots and top with grated cheese. Cook for approx. 30 minutes. 12: Filipino Ginger Chicken | 4-6 chicken breasts 1 cup of soy sauce 1 cup of sugar 1 cup of water 1 Tbsp. of ginger Preheat oven to 350. Place chicken in a casserole dish with sides of at least 1 inch depth. Mix all other ingredients together and pour over the top of the chicken. Cook chicken in oven approximately 45 min. flipping chicken half way through to keep moist. Serve over a bed of rice. (I like to have steamed cabbage with garlic powder as my side dish, thatâ€™s the way my Filipino friend, Richard, does it.) | Bishop, Maria Angeles, and Francisco; Weâ€™re gonna miss yâ€™all a lot around here. Thank goodness for Facebook to stay in touch! I know youâ€™ll enjoy living in Idaho, I liked the time Iâ€™ve spent there and that was in all the different seasons. 13: -1lb beef top sirloin or top round steak cut into 3/4 to 1 inch thick or flat steak -4 to 5 tsp Thia red curry paste 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk 1 Tbls olive oil 6 cups fresh stir-fry vegetable blend (broccoli, carrots, pea pods) cooked rice Cut beef into 1/8b to 1/4 in thick strips. Combine 3 tsp red curry pase and beef in medium bowl. Cover and marinate in refriderator 15 min. Whisk coconut milk and remainig 1 to 2 tsp red curry past in small bowl until blended. Set aside. Heat oil in large ninstick skillet over medium low heat until hot. Add 1/2 beef; stir-fry 1 to 3 min or intil outside surface of beef is no longer pink. (Do not overcook.) remove from skillet. Repeat with remaining beef. Season with salt, as desired; keep warm. Pour coconut milk misture into same skillet; bring to boil. Reduce heat: simmer 3 to 5 minutes or until slighly thickened, stirring occasionally. Add vegtable blend; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 5 to 8 minutes or until vetables are crip-tender, stirring occasionally. Return beef to skillet; cook until beef is heated trhough, about 1 minute. 14: Enchilada Chicken (from the Mumford Family) 4 trimmed boneless, skinless chicken breasts taco seasoning olive oil 1 can red enchilada sauce 1 cup shredded cheese 2 Tbsp chopped cilantro Preheat oven to 350. Season each chicken breast on all sides with seasoning. Place large skillet on high. When hot, add olive oil and chicken breasts. Cook 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. In glass baking dish, spread 1/2 cup enchilada sauce on bottom. Place chicken in dish, cover with remaining sauce. Top with cheese and cilantro. Cook 25-30 minutes (depending on thickness of breast). | The "Can" do Method of Settler Beans (to help you settle in Mormon country; from the Geppelt Family) Ingredients: 1lb of browned hamburger 1 onion chopped 1 green pepper chopped (optional) 1 can (15oz) pork and beans 1 can (15oz) ranch style beans 1 can (15oz) kidney bean (drain liquid before adding) 1 can (15oz) Butter beans (drain liquid before adding) 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 small bottle of barbeque sauce (I like Sweet Baby Rays) 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper 2 tablespoons of yellow mustard. 2 tablespoons of honey (optional) 1 4oz package of real bacon bits. Brown the hamburger and drain off the grease. Dump the remaining ingredients in order, mix, You can simmer it in a pot over med heat, stirring often for 30min, or dump it all in a crock pot and turn on low heat and leave it for 5-8 hours.

Love, Luana Bell and Diana Esparza and Julian-Rebecca and Lil Julian and Kaylea Valdez... | Chicken Rice Congee (from the Favre Family) 8 C. unsalted chicken stock 1 cup rice 4 cloves garlic, crushed 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger 1 tablespoon soy sauce salt and pepper to taste 2 cups chopped chicken meat 12 shitake mushrooms 2 cups bok choy, coarsely chopped, or napa cabbage What to Do Place all the ingredients in a slow-cooker cook on low for six hours. Serving suggestion: serve in flat bowls garnished with fresh coriander and chopped scallions. Toasted sesame seeds or sesame oil are also a nice touch.
16: String Beans & Lemon Chicken Dressing: 2 lemons â€“ finely grate the peels 2 limes â€“ finely grate the peels 3 Tbls fresh squeezed lemon juice 3 Tbls fresh squeezed lime juice Pinch sugar Salt & pepper to taste cup olive oil 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into 1â€ strips 1 lb string beans cut into 2â€ pieces 1 small red onion Combine dressing ingredients. Put cup of the dressing into a separate cup and set aside. Marinate chicken strips in the dressing for a minimum of 20 minutes. Meanwhile, steam the beans until tender-crisp (or longer if you like your beans less crispy). Cook chicken on the grill. Slice the onion and brush slices with the extra dressing. Grill the slices on both sides until soft & brown. Combine beans, onions, chicken and dressing in a large bowl. | The Harris Family | Dearest Guthomson Family, We will miss you so much. 17: Skillet BBQ Chicken Pasta | 1 T. extra virgin olive oil 2 boneless skinless chicken breast cut into bite sized chunks 1/2 medium onion 3 cups water 2 1/2 cups chicken broth 1/2 t salt 12 oz penne pasta 1/3 cup barbecue sauce 1/3 cup sour cream 1/4 cup shreaded mozzerella cheese 1/4 cup shreaded cheddar cheese In a large 12 inch skillet, heat the oil over medium heat, you could also use a large pot. When hot, add the chicken, onions, and saute stirring occasionally until the chicken in browned, and cooked through. Remove the chicken and onions to a plate and set aside. In the same skillet, add the water, chicken broth, penne, and salt. Bring to a boil and simmer for 12-15 minutes until the liquid is almost absorbed, the pasta is tender and the mixture is thick, and syrupy. Stir in the barbecue sauce and sour cream. Once mixed, add the chicken, onions and cheese. Brother & Sister Favre | Worlds Easiest Brisket brisket - 6 lb 1 med jar apple sauce 1 pkg onion soup mix 1/8 C liquid smoke Use a sharp knife to trim down the fat cap on the brisket Place brisket in heavy duty foil mix apple sauce, soup mix, liquid smoke together Pour over brisket, seal foil tightly Bake in 325 D oven for 5 hours After you remove from oven open foil carefully due to very hot steam Scrap off excess applesauce/fat mixture on top
19: BREADED RANCH CHICKEN I also love cooking with Chicken because it is Health for the family and easy recipe. - Sister Thomas Lee Esparza cups corn flakes, crushed 8 chicken breasts, skinless and boneless cup Parmesan cheese shredded cup butter or margarine melted 1 pkg. Dry ranch dressing Grease 9â€x 12â€ baking dish. Combine corn flakes, cheese and ranch dressing. Dip chicken in butter, roll in corn flakes mixture and place in prepared dish. Bake uncovered at 350 degree for 45 minutes Apricot Chicken (from the Marriott Home) 4-6 chicken breasts (they can be frozen) 1 small bottle of Russian salad dressing 1 c. apricot jam 1 packet of onion soup mix Put everything in the crock pot on high for 4 hours or low for 6. (I like to shred the chicken or at least break it up, but it doesn't matter...) Serve over rice. (Or you can back in the oven at 350 for 1 hour but your chicken needs to be defrosted.)
20: Easy-Peasy Banana Bread | Mix 1 box of cream cheese 1 cup of sugar Add 3 ripe bananas 2 eggs 2 cups of Bisquick Pour into two grease loaf pans, sprinkle the tops with white sugar (3-4 tsp on each loaf), bake in over at 350 degrees, for 40 min. Let sit for 5 min, then remove from pan let cool for 1 hour (we like to eat one when warm) when loaf is cool wrap in cling wrap. | Thanks for your calm, humble, strong leadership and example of faith and service. 21: The Harrison Family | Granny Good Stuff | Ingredients: 3/4 cup of shortening (or butter...mmmmmmm) 1 cup of oatmeal 1 cup of flour 1 cup of brown sugar 1 large can of cherry pie filling Mix everything but the pie filling together until it is crumbly. Gently press 3/4 of the mixture into a 9X9" pan. Add the pie filling. Sprinkle the rest of the mix on top. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Best if cooled first, but who really wants to wait that long? | 350 | 25 min. | enough
22: Eton Mess Recipe A favourite of Prince William. Eton Mess is an all-time classic British dessert and an Eton Mess recipe must be included in any list of strawberry recipes. The dish was traditionally served at Eton College but how it came to have the name is not clear. One story is a Labrador dog sat on a picnic basket in the back of a car and squashed a strawberry and meringue dessert. The dessert is quick and easy to make and makes great use of ripe strawberries at the height of summer when they are plentiful. Frozen or canned strawberries don't work. Prep Time: 15 minutes Yield: Serves 4 Ingredients: 10.6 fl oz/ 300 ml whipping cream 1 tbsp fine sugar 3.5 oz/100g ready-made meringue 1 lb/ 450g fresh strawberries 1 tbsp confectioners/icing sugar Preparation: Place the whipping cream in a large mixing bowl, add the sugar and whip with an electric mixture until the cream is light and fluffy. Do not over whip - the success of the dish requires softly whipped cream. Break the meringue into large bite-size chucks and gently stir into the cream. Don't worry if some of the meringue crumbles just add this too. Place half of the strawberries into another large mixing bowl and press gently with the back of a fork to break up the strawberries slightly and release some of the juice. Stir gently into the cream. Halve, then quarter the remaining strawberries. Place the cream mixture into a 7" trifle or glass serving dish, top with the strawberry pieces, chill for 30 minutes in the refrigerator and sprinkle with the confectioners/icing sugar before serving. 24: Easy Yorkshire Pudding Recipe (from the Craft Family) A classic Yorkshire Pudding is quick, easy to make and with this, my best Yorkshire Pudding recipe, guarantees success every time. A traditional Yorkshire Pudding fresh from the oven should be well-risen, golden brown with a crisp exterior and soft middle. Yorkshire Puddings are a classic British recipe and one of the major components of England's national dish roast beef and Yorkshire Puddings, a regional dish with national (and international) appeal. Serves 6 Ingredients: 4 large, fresh eggs, measured in a jug Equal quantity of milk to eggs Equal quantity of all purpose/plain flour to eggs Pinch of salt 2 tbsp lard, beef dripping or vegetable oil Preparation: Heat the oven to the highest temperature possible, however, do not exceed 450F/230C or the fat may burn. Pour the eggs and milk into a large mixing bowl and add the pinch of salt. Whisk thoroughly with an electric hand beater or hand whisk. Leave to stand for 10 minutes. Gradually sieve the same volume of flour (as the eggs) into the milk and egg mixture, again using an electric hand beater or hand-whisk to create a lump free batter resembling thick cream, if there are any lumps pass the batter through a fine sieve. Leave the batter to rest in the kitchen for a minimum of 30 minutes, longer if possible - up to several hours. Place a pea-sized piece of lard, dripping or tsp vegetable oil into your chosen Yorkshire pudding tin or a 4 x 2"/5cm hole tin or 12-hole muffin tin and heat in the oven until the fat is smoking. Give the batter another good whisk adding 2 tbsps of cold water and fill a third of each section of the tin with batter and return quickly to the oven. Leave to cook until golden brown approx 20 minutes. Repeat the last step again until all the batter is used up. Serving Yorkshire Pudding In Yorkshire serving the pudding is traditionally with gravy as a starter dish followed by the meat and vegetables. More often smaller puddings cooked in muffin tins are served alongside meat and vegetables. Yorkshire pudding isn't reserved only for Sunday lunch. A large pudding filled with a meaty stew or chili is a dish in its own right. Cold left-over Yorkshire Puddings make a lovely snack with a little jam or honey. Yorkshire Puddings do not reheat well, becoming brittle and dry.
25: Quick & Easy Peach Cobbler (from the Hymas Family) 1 cup white sugar 1/2 cup real butter, room temperature 1 cup flour 1 cup milk 1 (15 ounce) can peaches -Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). -In a one quart baking dish or 9 inch square pan, cream together your sugar and room temperature butter. Mix in flour, baking powder, and milk until smooth batter. -Pour peaches and all of their juice over the top. -Bake 25 to 30 minutes until the top is golden brown. -Serve with vanilla ice cream. | Easy as Peanut Butter Pizza "Pie" (from the Geppelt Family) Ingredients: 3/4 roll of Peanut butter cookie dough 1 large box of chocolate pudding 1 1/2 cup of milk 1 small tub of whip cream 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips (optional) Pat cookie dough onto a large pizza pan leaving two inches from the edge, so that it looks like a large cookie. Cook per directions. (or you can spray PAM on a pie dish, use half the dough and pat into a pie dish like a crust) After baking let cool for 20-30 min. Mix pudding with 1.5 cups of milk let stand for 5 min or until starts to thicken, then pour over baked crust, using a wooden or plastic spoon spread over crust, so that it looks like a pizza, refrigerate uncovered, or gently place cling wrap over the top for 15 min- whenever. Just before serving, gently spread cool whip over chocolate pudding and if desired can sprinkle with chocolate chips. Cut and serve like a pizza. Very Yummy. Aaron likes it in the pie dish because the crust is thicker.
26: The Thuernagle's | German Pancakes | 6 Tbsp margarine or butter 6 eggs 1 cup milk 1 cup flour 1 tsp salt 1/4 tsp baking powder Heat oven to 375. Place margarine in 13x9 inch pan and put in the oven to melt as it heats. Beat eggs and milk. Mix in flour, salt and baking powder. Pour into melted margarine in pan. Bake for about 20 minutes. We have fixed this dish many different places and it is a family favorite, anyone can make it, you can never mess it up, Itâ€™s that easy and you can add whatever youâ€™re hungry for! When you make it, think of us Hereâ€™s our recipe for â€œCatastropheâ€... 1 can of potatoes (or you can use frozen hash browns) ham, spam, bacon, sausage (chopped in small pieces), onions (chopped), mushrooms (if you like them) Cook all of this together until the meat is cooked and the potatoes are tender, then beat some eggs in a bowl (usually two per person ), add salt and pepper to taste, and add shredded cheese (whatever kind you like). Pour the egg mixture into the pan with the other items and stir until the eggs are cooked and the cheese is melted. Serve with toast, bagels, or biscuits. Yummy!
