38: Dear Dad, I hope you had a Great 80th Birthday Celebration! Just wanted you to feel the love from all your family and friends. Wish everyone in Syracuse could have came. I wanted you to know how much I love you and appreciate all that you do and have done for me and my family! Your the Best!!! You are always there and will drop whatever you are doing to help me...us....anyone!! You have taught me so much! I remember growing up discussing the business deals you were involved with. You would explain what is going on, then ask my opinon and sometimes take it! It made me feel so grown up, so smart, even if that was your choice anyway...you never let on. I loved going with you...anywhere! Learning to drive our boats made me feel so big! I loved parking the 34' Trojan in those slips with those twin engines...always a treat! Many great times on the boats...whether there for a weekend at Penoyer's Marina, or fishing by buoy 34, or off for a week or two to Cayuga Lake...camping on the boat...singing songs along the way or around the camfire...you always made sure we were having fun! I remember my first car, the gold Corvair Convertible, when I was 14.... I got to wash and wax it...but never drive it... you sold it before I could drive. But then for my 18th Birthday and Graduation, you and mom surprised me with a beautiful 1968 Camero convertible. Oh what fun that was!! Even Grandpa seemed to enjoy "my rides".
39: Our house would never be the what it is today if it wasn't for you. (not to mention the vision you and mom had for us to move up here from Miami). I loved having you over every day making sure the guys did what they were supposed to do, and did it right!, You taught Terry and I how to build...just about everything. We learned so much. I enjoyed you being here...sharing a cup of coffee with me most!!! It was great having you and mom so close by, especially when the kids were growing up, they loved spending time with you guys...well they still do..as you have a border, Chris, this summer & Kyle to join him for a week or two! You taught me how to love and to be loved, how to be independent, that going to college was important goal to accomplish. You continue to teach us life lessons & give great advice! There isn't enough space or words to tell you how much you mean to me! I love you with all my heart! I am truly blessed to have you for my Dad!!! Thank You for being you!!! Love, Cathy
40: Dad, I want to wish you a very special 80th Birthday! You have accomplished so much in those 80 years that for one to tell the complete story, a director would need endless reels of film or a writer countless pages in a book. A story that itself has many more exciting scenes to be shot and pages yet to be written. In fact, this amazing tale continues to be the story of a true American Legend. I don't know how I received the honor or being your son, but I Thank God every day for that amazing gift. You are my mentor, my inspiration, my role model and most importantly, my best friend. Everything I have been able to achieve in life is correctly traceable to you. I owe you more than words could ever say. Succinctly put, I am forever grateful. I could not have asked for a better teacher. Every day I continue to be amazed at how much you know and how much wisdom you have. I have seen you share this along with your generousity and never ending help with everyone that has the privledge of knowing you and you give it with a selflessness that very few possess. You continue to make the life of everyone you have ever met better than it was before and the world a much better place to be in. Unquestionably, a legacy that very few in this world could ever genuinely clain credit. Something that I know without a doubt made Grandpa very proud to have you for his son!
41: It always has been, and continues to be, the honor of a lifetime to be your son! Always remember that I will always be here for you. Always remember that I Love You more than words could ever say! Your Proud Son, Mike
