1: Highlights of 2011 Our big family holiday this year took place in May. After Amy ran a half marathon with Aaron on May 1st, we piled into the truck and travelled for two days to Moab, Utah for a Landcruiser 4x4 event called Cruise Moab. It was a fantastic time of camping, 4x4ing, mountain biking, and enjoying all of the stellar scenery Moab has to offer. We also were able to visit with Amy’s uncle and his family on our way down and on the way home. It sure was convenient that they live at precisely the halfway point between Chilliwack and Moab. Jason and Amy were both REALLY impressed with how well the kids did with all that driving. We think we definitely have some adventurous road-tripping kids!!! Julia completed 3 year old preschool in June. With Amy working part-time, we chose not to put her back into preschool as our amazing daycare lady does so much with the kids already. We put Julia in dance this year, and she is loving it!!! It is sure amazing to see how much more co-ordinated she is now. She can stand and hop on one foot. Both of which she couldn’t do in September when she started. She also has the same dance teacher Jenni had, which is pretty fun. Owen is changing daily. He is so full of giggles and mischief, and can ham it up for all audiences. Right now his vocabulary is increasing rapidly. He can say Daddy, Mommy, Doo-yee-ah (Julia), Abby, Papa (that’s Amy’s Dad), bye, uh-oh, ah-bow (apple), dough (door), and baw (ball). He can also sign please, thank-you, more, give high fives, wave, and blow kisses. We find this stage is just so fascinating. They learn so much so quickly!!! Amy went back to work in September after an extended maternity leave. She is teaching grade 2 at Vedder Elementary on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. She has the most incredible teaching partner covering the other two days. It has definitely been an adjustment, but having Jason working closer to home has been a huge blessing. His business has been doing quite well. It is amazing to see his creativity at work, as he has come up with several new ideas throughout the year. He also got a tube bender this year, which has expanded his ability to create all kinds of new designs.
