FC: A YEAR IN REVIEW

To: Grandma and Boo From: Angelina, Kristina, Anthony, Jordan, Alexandra, Alicia, Anna, Sara, and Jonathan

"Families are like fudge ... mostly sweet with a few nuts."

 MAKING MEMORIES

Angelina | Dear Grandma and Boo, The prayer of St. Francis of Assisi is the central theme of the year at the school I teach, and it is a prayer that reminds me of the both of you. It is a prayer that exemplifies a most wonderful and beautiful way to live. It is obvious to see that you have lived and raised my father this way. Not only from my father and my mother, but the pair of you have showed me to live life as the way the prayer describes. Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi Lord, make me an instrument of your peace, Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; Where there is sadness, joy; O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen. Trying to find all of the words to describe my love and admiration for the both of you is almost impossible. You are my role models, inspiration, and a source of love and faith in my life, and for this I will be forever grateful. With love forever, Angelina

Dear Grandpa and Grandma, I cannot begin to describe how blessed I am to have some of the most generous, caring, and incredible grandparents you guys are to all of us. I am one of the most fortunate people on this Earth to be born into a close family who are so loving and caring. Christmas time is a great example of how amazing of a job you both have done in raising all of us and showing us the true meaning of family. I pray for both of you every day and am constantly missing you. As I grow up, I hear more and more about families that are broken. Many do not even spend the holidays together. I think our family has something special. Not only are we close but we have culture, spirit, faith, and love. I appreciate and respect you guys more than most people I know. I hope one day I will have a family and be able to teach them all the wonderful things you have taught me. Every Christmas Grandma you make the food, get the presents, make dessert, and make sure everyone is there. I don’t think you will ever know how much that means to everyone. Some of my favorite memories growing up are at our family Christmas. I look forward to it every year because we all get along so well and have so much fun together. I know your mother Nana and Grandpa’s mother Angelina are with us on the holidays. I know they are looking down from heaven and so proud to see what you both have brought together and how hard you both have worked to be such great parents and grandparents. The one thing I have learned a lot from you Grandpa is that you should never take family for granted. You had to leave your family at such a young age. If I had to do that it would be the hardest thing in the world, and you did it to have a better life for all of us here so thank you. Santaga is not just a name. It’s a word that means love, respect, determination, family, and honor. I am so proud to be a Santaga. Thank you for this Christmas and thank you for being honestly the best grandparents anyone could ever hope for. Merry Christmas! Love, Kristina

Anthony | Each memory we keep with care means future happiness to share.

Grandpa and Grandma- I don’t even know where to start. You both mean so much to me that I cannot even put it into words. I have so many awesome memories with you guys from family Christmas to the motor home trips we took to soccer tournaments. It means so much to me living so close, knowing that if I need help with anything, I can count on you. I would come over everyday and watch westerns with Boo and munch on some frozen cookies if I could. I love spending time with you guys more than anything. I love you guys so much and could not ask for better grandparents. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas. You both deserve it more than anybody. Our families have both of you to thank for making us who we are today. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Love, Anthony

Jordan | Dear Grandma and Boo, I love you both very much. Words can’t describe how much of an impact you have had on my life, and without you I wouldn’t be the same person I am today. You have always supported me in anything I have ever done, and I know if I ever needed anything I could always come to either of you. Grandma, you are the sweetest woman I know. Your cooking and sweet heart always makes me feel loved. I might be called a Grandma’s boy, but I’m not afraid to admit it. You always know exactly what to do to show how much you love me. Boo, you are the most inspirational man I've ever met. Without you taking the risk coming to America from Italy, our family wouldn’t exist as it is today. From a young age, I have always looked up to you and I don’t ever see that changing. You are my hero. I love you both so much. Hopefully, my actions speak louder than my words in expressing my love, gratitude, and respect for you both. Love Always, Jordan

Alexandra | Dear Grandma and Boo, I love you guys so much! Thank you so much for spending time with me, and watching me when I was little. I feel really lucky to have grandparents that care about me as much as you guys do, and I know you guys are always looking out for all of our best interests and it means a lot. And Alicia and I LOVE our shopping trips with grandma! I love you guys a lot and MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Love, Alexandra :)

Dear Grandma and Boo, It is truly amazing how wonderful family is. Grandma and Boo, growing up you have taught me what I believe is one of the most important life lessons: family is everything. I love spending time with everyone in our family, I really feel like we all have a special connection. We all respect each other, care for each other, and want what is best for each other. Every year I look forward to our family Christmas’ even more, because I know how special they are. Thank you, Grandma and Boo, for the love you have blessed all of us with. In demonstration and in leading by example, you have given us the ability to follow in your successful footsteps. The rich success you two have earned does not include money or material possessions, but a family full of love and gratitude for one another. What more could one ask for? I love you both so much! Molte grazie per tutto. Siamo molti benedetti. Voi amore ispire noi tutti. Amore sempre, Alicia

Grandma and Boo, If you have taught me one thing, it is this for sure, Stay close to your family, and keep your love pure. There is no tie, like a family bond, The laughter we share, and the love that grows strong. I hope to God, That as you watch us grow, As we flourish and learn, and we reap the good that we sow, That you look on with pleasure, for the knowledge that you, Have taught us the lessons, in life that are true. Grandma there isn’t a heart in this world, that is so tender and loving, And Boo there isn’t a hand in this world, more gracious or giving. Each grandchild you have, Could live to be three hundred and nine And never live to see, a person shine like you both shine I speak for us all, when I say strong and true That we all strive to be, like our Grandma and Boo I love you to the moon and back times infinity, Anna <3 PS: for as long as I live I will try to love and live with as much sincerity as you do, I will never succeed. The gifts you have given each one of your grandchildren are absolutely priceless because you have given us each other and the knowledge that family is the most important thing, the most supportive and loving and life long thing that we will ever know. Thank you so much for being the best grandparents in the entire existence of the world, and I say that with absolute certainty that you are the best. Ever.

Grandma and Boo, There are no words and no way to describe the way I feel about you and how much I love you. I can’t even begin to tell you the ways you have touched my life, how you have influenced me positively and how you both have made me a better person. Without even realizing it, you have taught me lessons about family, generosity, moral standards and values, what it takes to be a leader and what can help me be the best person I can be. Your wisdom, knowledge and examples have taught and continue to teach me things that people go through their whole lives without learning and understanding. Grandma and Boo, you have inspired and changed the lives of so many people. You have created a family that is unique and incredible on so many levels! I know for a fact that every one of us feels a love and gratitude for you both that is indescribable and ever-present. You continue to show me what true happiness, love for family and life itself is. I pray that God will go on to bless you for what you have given me, and the rest of our family. If there is one thing that is for sure, I am definitely proud to be a part of this family, and to be a Santaga`. Ti voglio tanto bene, Sara Santaga`

Johnny | Dear Grandma and Boo, You two are the best grandparents anyone could ever have. I wouldn’t trade you for the world. You have done so much for me. Grandma, you spoil me rotten, and I love it. You treat me like a king. You make all these wonderful meals and when you hug me its like I am on another planet. It’s warm and full of love. You teach me so much and I listen to every word you say. I love you. Boo, you are as strong as an ox. You taught me so much that I try to apply to my life. All the wonderful stories I hear about you make me proud to have the name Santaga, and you make me happy to have you as my grandpa. Thank you for taking me on all those wonderful golf trips. If I were with a pro I wouldn’t have learned as much as I did with you. I will apply all your advice to my life in every way I can. Thank you both for everything you have done for me. I love you both and will forever. Love, Jonathan
