Hi! We are Gavin and Leslie from Longview, TX. Thank you for taking the time to read about our lives. We praise God for giving you strength in taking this difficult step to choose adoption for your baby. Wherever your journey leads you, we pray you find comfort in knowing that your sacrifice means more than words could ever convey to a childless couple such as ourselves. As you make your important decisions, we hope that this glimpse into our lives will help you to know us better. May you find the perfect loving family you seek. Gavin and Leslie
about us | We were married December 21, 2002 at the ages of 22 and 24. Since we married young, we decided to wait awhile to have children. We wanted to make sure our home and careers were secure. Seven years later, we both were ready to start our family and share our love with our children.
After more than a year of trying to conceive, we began to get frustrated with infertility. What really helped us conquer that frustration was Proverbs 3:5-6. "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." So then we started to think about our other options. After many, many months of praying and discussing it with our families and friends, we finally decided that we would love to adopt a child from a mother who needed a loving, Christian home for her child.
 our home
We live in a great neighborhood. The streets are flat and perfect for riding bikes or taking our dogs on walks. | Our home has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. In the back is a shaded, fenced backyard.
about Gavin | Gavin is a middle school art teacher who also loves to fish and hunt.
A Message from Leslie: Gavin is a wonderful, caring husband. He is gentle and kind, and has taken excellent care of ME for years. I know that he would be a fantastic daddy!
about Leslie | Leslie is a fourth grade math and science teacher, and a lover of all cute and cuddly animals.
 our kids
These are our furry kids, Jabba and Lady. Jabba is an 8-yr-old chihuahua, and Lady is a 3-yr-old lab mix. They are both completely spoiled, but hey - we don't have children yet!
As a couple who does not yet have children, we cannot be sure what sort of parents we would be. However, we do know that we want to raise them as our parents raised us, in the "training and admonition of the Lord." (Ephesians 6:4) "And these words which I com-mand you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them dili-gently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up." (Deut. 6:6-7)
Our biggest hope for our children is that they love the Lord, and keep his commandments. As teachers, we also want them to love to learn. "Incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding." (Proverbs 2:2) | our hopes as parents
our church | For about 2 years, we've been attending Judson Road Church of Christ. Both of us absolutely LOVE our church! There are lots of other young couples, so we can all encourage each other to attend at every opportunity. Lately there has been a baby explosion, so if we adopt a child, he or she will have lots of friends to play with.
We try to help out whenever we can at church. Occasionally Gavin will offer a prayer during worship, or serve at the Lord's Table. Leslie helps to teach the 2-yr-old Bible class (which will soon be FULL due to the baby explosion) and occasionally prepares the bread and juice needed for the Lord's Table.
So what can we | offer you?
