1: Road Trip | DESTINATION: Nanaimo & Hornby Island SEEKING: Family Fun | 1 | Coquihalla | Yoho | Revelstoke | Strathmore

3: Simon and Julien spent endless hours exploring the natural wonders of Sandpiper Beach on HornbyIsland. Tide Pools, sandy beach, millions of tiny pebbles, smooth sandstone and rugged rocky terrain were on the daily agenda. Sea anemones, lug worms, starfish and limpets were among the creatures they discovered on their adventurous escapades. CHILDHOOD MEMORIES HAPPENED HERE. | 2


5: Rocks. Rocks. Rocks. Smooth ones. Wavy ones. Curvy ones. Bumpy ones. No stone was left unturned on Sandpiper Beach. | 3

11: Unable to resist the invitation of a multitude of smooth, round rocks. Karen collected them. Held them. Wrote inspirational thoughts on them. And left them on the beach as random gifts.

18: A rainy day is as good as any other for exploring the sandy ocean shore, scouring the rocks for treasures and clearing deadwood off the paths. | Beach Access Nanaimo B.C.

21: Bears. Ferrets. Eagles. Owls. Turtles.Even a cat. Everyone found something to smile about at the North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre. | 11

23: KA-BOOM Cannons. Do it yourself ice cream. Strolling on the pier. This day was a real blast. | 12

24: Neck Point Park

25: This park is known to many as Neck Point Park, but it is better known to some as Bonnie and Abe's Park. These trails are as familiar to them as the palms of their hands. Volunteer park wardens, they have wiped out Witch's Broom, welcomed visitors and shared a passion for preserving the natural beauty of the rugged ocean shores. | 13
