3: "I proclaim God's blessing on your life that God will make you fruitful in every way, that God will always be with you, that you may understand and allow the Holy Spirit to be your life and not strive to live the Christian life on your own. I ask for God's help as you take responsibility in your relationship with Him every day by talking with Him in prayer and loving to read His word. May you love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and love others as yourself, and that God will bless you at the right time with a godly husband and the gift of children. Hannah, we love you and pray the covering of God's blessing on your life."

4: Hannah, this has been an important few months in your life as we have focused, as a family, on you moving from a girl to a young woman. This ceremony is a culmination of everything our family has experienced together as God is maturing you and entrusting you with greater responsibilities for your relationship with Him. The ring we gave you is a gift from Mom and me to you. It is a circle, which symbolizes God's unending and eternal love for you based on what Jesus did on the cross. It also will represent your love to God as you live your life in purity of body, mind and soul. We pray this will also remind you that you are saving yourself for the husband God may bring into your life one day. Most of all, know that God is so pleased with you because He made you - and so are we. Hannah, we love you so much and are so proud of who you have become. As you know, Mom and I have written a letter to you every year since your first birthday. I want to read what I wrote to you on your first birthday because it is still my prayer for you today: "I pray God's blessing on your little life. I pray He will mold your heart to be like His and that you will be a joy to His heart. I also pray you will experience the grace, love, and joy in Jesus Christ. I pray we can guide you to love God so much that your life is full of meaning and purpose. I also ask the Lord to give you a vision for your life. In the midst of a culture that has forsaken the value of a wife and mother, that you will embrace this calling and learn from your mother. She is such a good and godly model for you. She loves Jesus so much and wants to follow Him. Learn from her. Love always, Daddy. " I will always love you, Dad

5: Hannah, you are a gift from God! I actually prayed for you many years before you were even born. In fact, I prayed for you as I was growing up asking God to give me a godly husband and children that He had handpicked for me. You are the answer to that prayer. I pray your life will be built on these truths: 1. God's love is unconditional. Romans 8:38-39 2. God is always good and trustworthy. Psalm 100:5 3. God is our refuge, our protector, and our safety. Psalm 92:4 4. You are never alone. Do not fear. Deuteronomy 31:8 5. The Christian life is done in the power of the Holy Spirit, not one of "trying real hard." Galatians 5:22-23 Hannah, ask God to live His life through you with His power. As God meets your needs, you will be freed up to love others. You won't be looking to yourself or others to meet your needs of acceptance, power, strength, joy, peace, and hope. Those will all be abundantly supplied by God for you. My prayer for you, Hannah, is that you will love God more than anything else. Even that love, we can't muster up - we have to ask God to give us that love for Him and it's okay to do that. I pray you will love God's word and that you will learn and be encouraged by it every day. It's not just a book of stories, but it's God's love letter to us. Our family is not complete without you. I love you no matter what - no matter if you obey or disobey, no matter if you play the piano well, no matter whether you can sew, no matter what you look like, no matter if you're mad or sad or grumpy - no matter what! May you always know Jesus' love for you too, walking with Him and experiencing His wonderful plan for your life. I will love you always, Mom

6: I am so excited about the ceremony that you will be going through with your other church friends. I did not have the opportunity to engage in a ceremony like yours, but I wish that such a ceremony would have been possible in my life. My prayer for you, Hannah, is that you will know that Jesus Christ lives in you, and that you will not have to worry about being confident and competent in life because Christ lives in you. He will live His life in and through you. It is such a privilege for me to be your grandmother. I love you, Hannah, Grandmother (Northington) | As one of you grandfathers, and with many years of seeing God's hand on my life, I can look back after 72 years and stand amazed at what God has done. At your age, I attended church and did the "church thing" as I should have done but the church and God's influence in my life was negligible. God (Jesus), in retrospect, seemed to be watching over me until I came of age and accepted Christ as my Savior. From that point on, the choices that I made were obviously guided and directed by the Lord. Some choices were correct and due to my error some were incorrect. I look forward to seeing you walk confidently through life knowing that Jesus is directing your every step. I love you, Granddaddy (Northington)

7: It is pure joy for us to share this solemn and sacred transition into another exciting adventure of your earthly journey which points you constantly to eternity with your Savior. In all of my almost 70 years on this earth you are one of the sweetest blessings I have ever experienced. You are respectful, wise beyond your years, kind, humble, grateful, and gifted in many ways. You make me laugh and you listen patiently to my stories and make me feel loved. Thank you. I wonder if there's a different way in Heaven to say 'I love you." Of course you know I love you but it's more than that. It's like a double dose of love because you are a part of your Mother and sometimes I think of her as my little girl again when I used to hug her like I do you. It's hard to explain but I guess I'm trying to say "I love you +." Enjoy life, Hannah, and remember that every day is a gift from God, but the Best is yet to be. I love you, Grandma (Purpero) | Hannah, these are some of the things I love about you: BASKETBALL - I enjoy watching you play basketball and you get better each time you play. MAKING EARRINGS AND TISSUE HOLDERS - and selling them. You are an entrepreneur. I know because I have been in business for over 50 years and I can spot one. FINANCES - You are a good money manager. 10: We are so proud of you and want you to know that we are praying for you and excited for you to have this special ceremony in your life! We pray the same prayer that we pray for our children and that is that you will be a "world changer!" Regardless of where you live or what you do BUT who you are in Christ and who you know, God the Father! In life, we all make mistakes and God is so faithful to help us in our journey. 11: Thinking of you brings a smile to my face. It gives me joy to write you. You have always demonstrated maturity beyond your years. Your sweet face is gentle and kind. How we wish we could be with you as you go through this momentous occasion at your church. As you continue to mature and grow into a godly, young lady, remember He is transforming you into His likeness. "And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." (2 Corinthians 3:18) As you ask the Holy Spirit for His fruit to be developed in you, He will gladly give you what you need to be radiant and shine BRIGHT for Him. Enjoy this sweet ceremony your parents and church are blessing you with today! Remember how it is a time in your life to REJOICE that He is creating you to reflect His glory! We love you! 12: You are growing up before our eyes! I'm so proud of the young lady you are becoming. You have such a sweet spirit. If I could give you any advice for you to take through your life, it would be advice that I have to take myself. Even as an adult woman God still shows me areas of my life that I need to surrender to Him and let go. One of those areas would be comparing myself to others and trying to find my identity in the wrong things. We can get so distracted by the world and everything it has to offer that we forget that the Main Thing is the Main Thing. (Jesus, of course, is the Main Thing) Sometimes we look at ourselves and see that we are not as intelligent, attractive, wealthy, or athletic as others. It can bring us down as we constantly compare ourselves and try to find what defines "me" as me. When Jesus gave His life, he died for all our sins and failures. He took all that pain for us. That kind of love that He gives us is our identity. True beauty happens when we fall in love with Jesus & live our lives to glorify Him. I love you, Hannah! Aunt Mindy | I am so proud of you and it's been a blessing to watch you grow and mature into a beautiful young lady who loves Jesus with all her heart. As you continue to grow and mature, always put God first & make God the center of your life. I promise you (God promises you), you won't regret it. I don't have a daughter, but if I did, I would want her to be like you. Congratulations on this very important and exciting day in your life. I love you. 13: Understand that nothing on this earth can bring you happiness and joy like the love of Jesus Christ. God is going to use you in ways you never thought He could to touch others' lives and yours along your journey through life. He is where you can find complete satisfaction and joy. This world is full of distractions but day-by-day He is the one we turn to. Our identity isn't in anything but Christ and He thinks the world of you. One love and one God. Love, Luke | I've enjoyed watching you grow into a beautiful young girl. I pray that you continue to live your life according to God's will. Remember that you are loved, not only by your family, but by our Lord. Love, Jordan Purpero | I'm so excited for you as you transition into this new chapter in your life. I can't think of anything more appropriate to say than a prayer to the One who will guide and keep you. "Lord, I know you are our father. As Hannah grows up, protect and guide her every day. I pray that as she grows, reveal your glory more and more to her. That she continues to know your undying love for her and that she honors you in her every step. You know we live in a world where serving you isn't always the easiest thing, but I pray that Hannah holds true to what she knows is true: that you are our only refuge and only you can give us perfect love. When Hannah is faced with heartbreak, may she allow you to mend the broken pieces. When she is in doubt, may you assure her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made. When she feels rejected, may she remember that you, the king of kings, are crazy about her! Be with Hannah's family as they support her. 14: God surely blessed me, my sisters, and brother | First I would like to take a minute to say how very proud I am of you and your love for the Lord. You have always acted like a lady and have been so kind, loving, and very thoughtful to others. Now, when the world teaches everyone to take care of "number-one" (yourself), I see only the Lord shining through in your young life. Reading and studying the Bible at an early age would have helped me so much in all the decisions I made in life. It's all right there. If one would take the time to read and study God's Word - to me that is the answer. All of life's questions and answers are recorded in this Book. When you pray to God, He doesn't care how you say it or what you tell Him. He already knows your heart and He just wants you to trust in Him as your Heavenly Father. No matter what you face in life - if you put Almighty God first, that's all there is. He will help and direct you and never leave you. His will, will be done in your life. Sometimes people say that life is not fair - they are angry and feel lost. They blame God for maybe an illness or death in the family. This I know for sure: God is good, so good. He does allow things to happen and He never said that this life would be easy. He can take something really bad in life and turn it into something really good. Through Christ we are promised an eternal, blessed life with Him. I believe each of us has a purpose. My advice to you would be to continue to love and serve the Lord. Read and study His Word and pray for the wisdom to understand it. In life, people will disappoint and fail you in some way. You can be assured that our Almighty God will never leave you. He loves you so much and He has proven that by allowing His one and only Son to die on the cross for each of our sins. There is no greater love in the world. God bless you beautiful, Hannah! 15: Hannah, I want to encourage you to pray about everything. You may think that God doesn't care about something so silly or trivial but he cares about us and the things that are important to us. I don't know if I've told you this story, but Grandmother would pray about everything. If she lost her keys, or just anything, she would pray about it. So when Austin was about 8 and Alec was 4 we got Belle. Uncle Craig was not a dog lover and we had finally talked him into getting a dog. I think we had gone to church, came home and started looking in the newspaper at Daschunds for sale. We had looked at so many ads and called and the dogs were far away or cost too much so we would move on to the next ad. It was so frustrating because we were hitting roadblocks. Alec and Austin really were excited about getting a dog that day. I told them it was looking like it wasn't gong to happen. I said why don't we pray about it? I remember Austin said, " I don't want to pray" so I said that I would pray. I just told God we were having a really hard time finding a puppy, would he help us find the right puppy for us. It was getting late & I got a phone call from a girl named Brandi. She wanted to know if we were still looking for a puppy. I said yes and I said, "Brandi, where do you live?" She said Douglasville and I said I will have to come see the puppy on another day. She said I have the puppy with me because I took it to my parents' house. I told her where I lived and she said, "I just passed your exit!" I pretty much almost dropped the phone. Brandi said she would just get off at the next exit and turn around and bring the dog to our house. So all of our faith was increased big time that day and when we look back and are wondering if God hears our prayers or cares about the little things that are important to us, that was our lesson to us that he does care for us! Just Pray; sometimes you have to wait a while to be able to look back and see how God works things out, but he is working! I love you and I'm proud of you! Have fun on your special weekend! 16: Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in TRYING SO HARD to please God that we forget to marvel, enjoy and bask in His love and grace toward us. I would encourage you to remember that He is not shocked by your flaws, failures, weaknesses, and sin. He created you and knows your frailties intimately. However, He still loves you wildly and spends more time rejoicing over you than shaking His head in disappointment or disapproval. Yes, we must choose to follow Him with all our heart,soul, mind and strength. Yes, we must repent and turn back to Him over and over again when we mess up...BUT REMEMBER that it truly is HIS power at work in us that enables us to overcome and have victory! Fix your eyes on Him, relax, and enjoy the ride. :) Sincerely with love, Mrs. Ling (you really could just call me Leslie) | Hannah, I want to encourage you with this...the joy found in Jesus alone will shine through you and will attract others to the light in you. Try to remind yourself daily what your part is in your walk with God (and life in general) and God's part. The good news is your part is actually quite small. Simply show up! Soak in the Word. Meditate on His promises. Confess your sins and claim His forgiveness....don't let Satan convince you that anything can change your standing with God. 17: God has blessed you with such an amazing set of parents and a wonderful extended family. Hannah - I can see traits of both your grandma and mom in you - your love for JESUS, your heart for others, your radiant smile, your organization and your love for parties. I know that you will be a blessing as you grow and mature in your walk with the Lord. Seek HIM daily no matter the situation and you will feel PEACE that only God can give. Cindy Reynolds | I am so excited for your upcoming Christian Rite ceremony. This will be a special time for you as you prepare to deepen your relationship with the Lord. If I was twelve again, I sure wish I would have had this opportunity to take a stand for my faith and really make it my own. The Lord loves you so, so much and He has great plans for you, precious Hannah, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11) I will be praying for you as you prepare your heart for the ceremony. You have already been such a blessing to those around you. 18: What I wish I would have understood at your age was how very much my God loves me . . . just for me and not for anything that I've accomplished - that I don't have to prove myself worthy. I wish that I would have truly comprehended that God says He is proud of me, that I am His daughter, the daughter of the King! I think that if I would have been able to hide that treasure in my heart I would have walked through life with more security and confidence and less fears. I would have looked at life with greater expectation and joy instead of worrying if I would mess it up or disappoint someone. I don't think that we will ever be able to 'get' just how much He loves us. Trust in that love - believe it is worth everything you've got! When asked by your parents what I might have wanted to know at your age I went blank. Could not think of anything and yet so many things could be said. When putting myself back in your shoes I wish I would have understood better how simple loving God is. There is a reason Jesus said to let the children come unto him. 19: You are a joy to be around. You really have a servant's heart. I remember meeting you at a park years back, and I thought it was wonderful how you helped with the Harkey children. Always look for the need and reach in to serve. I thank you for being a special friend to Alyssa. 20: My prayer for you, Hannah, is that you don't seek your esteem from what others think, but from what God thinks. That you recognize these transition years between childhood and womanhood as opportunity to be fruitful for the Lord. Live, submitted to your parents' authority, with a kingdom focus, as 2 Corinthians 4:18 says, "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." As you continue to "grow in wisdom and stature" under your parents' loving guidance, make Christ your first love, and pursue Him with a passion. I have been watching you grow over the years and I am encouraged by what a special young lady you are becoming. I grew up as a first-born daughter, like you. Being a firstborn daughter carries with it a lot of benefits as well as special challenges as a result of their role in the family. As a firstborn daughter it is good for you to let go of control. As a firstborn daughter I developed a desire to being in control of my family's feelings and to be in control of circumstances. But God doesn't want us to try and control our life. He wants to control it for us. And life works so much better when He is in control. So my encouragement for you is to let go of controlling circumstances and other people. In that you will find incredible freedom and joy. God is always faithful and has a much better plan than we can ever imagine. Love, Lisa Reutener

21: Always choose God's way, even if it's not what you want. God doesn't give us rules to ruin our good time or to keep us from having fun. Over and over in Scripture it describes God's great love for us. For example: "but God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) The book of Psalms is full of examples that talk about God's loving kindness. Congratulations and run the race strong. Love, Kelly Karr | I am so excited for your new journey! Your mom and dad asked if I would write a note of things that I wish I would have known at your age. #1) Only fall in love with Jesus; the rest will fall into place. Hannah, you are at a unique time in your life. You are getting older, yet do not have the many responsibilities of an adult. Be wise and take this time to pray. #2) Love and respect your mom and dad. "Children obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother - which is the first commandment with a promise - so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." #3) Always keep good company! That means make choices to be with people that will be uplifting and push you towards the Lord. 22: I want to let you know that since we were at your home for dinner, it has been a joy to see you blossom into such a lovely young woman. I know that the Lord is an important part of your life and I pray that you will always look to Him in all you do. Growing up can be difficult and making Godly decisions are not always easy. Getting to know Him personally is such a wonderful, challenging experience. Every day is new with the Lord and I pray that all your days will be filled with the excitement of finding yourself in Him. 25: Congratulations! As you cross over the threshold into the special, and also challenging stage of your life as a young woman, I pray that our Father will encourage and equip you with all you need to walk in the perfect path He has prepared for you. 26: As you get older, you'll increasingly have decisions to make as you grow in independence, being responsible for yourself and possibly even for others in leadership. God's will is not a tight rope that you can tumble off easily if you just veer the wrong way. His hand is steadying you and His will is wide - He created you for freedom. So seek Him in conversation, "What shall we do with this or about that, Lord?" And imagine Him answering as a friend you're walking along the path with - not a distant and obscure figure in heaven, pointing directions through the clouds if you can make it out. Psalm 31:8b "You have set my feet in a broad place." I just learned that this is the implication behind the word "save" or "salvation" - to be set in a broad place. This wide open space is what comes along with the salvation you've been given. So feel the wind in your face, and enjoy the expanse! Corrie Heinrich

27: Probably the biggest thing to think about today is that God has made you special and wants you to find out those special things. Why? Because He is wonderful and wants you to know He made you wonderful. Finding out about the special part of you is a big part of life. That special part of you can communicate with the Lord so that you will be smart about deciding what to do each day. You'll probably start noticing that there's a big world out there. Your eyes begin to see new people, places, and adventures. Going on an adventure is great. Be sure to say "no" to bad companions. They can ruin any trip. In 2 Corinthians 5:7 is says that we walk by faith not by sight. Hannah, I hope you will always have the faith that dares the soul to go beyond what your eyes can see! Kathy McGuire
