FC: James & Julia

Hello! We are James and Julia, best friends, happily married, and excited to grow our family through adoption! Thank you for taking the time to get to know us and thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your child. We cannot imagine what you are going through and how difficult this decision must be for you. While we have not met you, we already know that you have a great deal of love for your baby by the fact that you are considering an adoption plan. We admire the courage, strength and selfless heart that you have, and we feel honored to be considered as parents for your child.

2001: We meet while attending college. | 2005: We adopted Kimchee | 2008: We got engaged! | Our Story | We met in 2001 when we were both in college. We started out as friend's months before we started dating. We were married almost 7 years later on the beach where we had our first date. If you ask our friends they think we are a very unique couple because we are so different as people, yet so alike in our values and beliefs about what is important in life. Julia is very outgoing and will engage in conversation with anyone, while James is more reserved until you get to know him.

2008: We bought our first house! | 2009: We got married! | 2011: We began our adoption journey! | Why we chose ADOPTION? We always knew we wanted children. Both of us come from very large and close-knit families. After we were married we started trying to conceive naturally like most couples but were faced with multiple disappointments including several miscarriages. We did fertility treatments and found out that it was not going to be safe for Julia to become pregnant nor was it likely. Our experience with infertility not only opened our eyes to the beauty of adoption, but also strengthened our marriage and better prepared us to be parents. We feel it is a privilege to bring a child into our family just as God brings us into His.

Our wedding day was so special and memorable. We had our first date on the beach, James proposed to Julia on this beach, and we got married on the same exact beach. We were so worried about the weather all week. It rained and stormed, and well we didn't exactly have a backup plan. When it came time to head down to the beach it was as if God just shut off the faucet and parted the clouds. It ended up being the most gorgeous day and the best weekend. | Most difficult shot of the day. | The wedding party

James is one of a kind and God really broke the mold when he made him. He is the most loving, confident, smart and giving person I know. His sense of humor and wit is what first attracted me to him. He is truly my best friend and everything I always imagined in my life partner. James is such a big kid at heart which is one of the reasons I know he will be an amazing Dad. It is so much fun to watch him play and teach so many new things to the kids in our life. He cannot wait to take fishing trips, read bedtime stories and watch Saturday morning cartoons (with someone other than me.) Any child will be lucky to call him Daddy! | One of his favorite titles is Uncle James | Trip to Monkey Joe's | JAMES by JULIA

Julia is a constant ray of sunshine. She has a beautiful smile that can only be topped by the size of her heart. She is loving, extremely creative, understanding and fun. She has the ability to make a friend out of a complete stranger and that's why I love her. Julia is great with kids. It's great to watch all my nieces and nephew's line up to get hugs from her, even when that means I get skipped. Julia will be a great Mom and can't wait to be doing art projects and planning birthday parties. | JULIA by JAMES | one of the best ways to spend a Sunday afternoon! | Kimchee loves hiking | Snorkeling in Jamaica

James is the oldest of 4 children. He is the protective big brother and very close with each of them. Most of James' family lives very close with the exception of his youngest brother who is stationed in Korea with the US Army. We spend a lot of family time together with weekly Sunday dinners and board game nights. James' side of the family is very active so when we get together we are usually outdoors and ALWAYS having fun! This will be the first grandchild for James' parents and they couldn't be happier! | James' Family | James' family before his brother left for Korea

Julia is the second oldest of 6 kids. Her family dynamic is similar to that of the Brady Bunch. She is the heart of her family. They all have a very close relationship and can always depend on each other. The family lives about 4 hours away but we always make time to be in each other's lives. We have 6 nephews and 3 nieces. We love to spend as much time together as possible. They are always asking "when are we going to have a new cousin to play with?" Julia's parents are no strangers to being Grandparents and are so excited to welcome #10 into the Bunch. The entire family is waiting with open arms to love your child. | Julia's Family | 4th of July Parade | All of the nieces/nephews with Nana and Papa's new playground. | Fun at the family reunion BBQ

Our house is a ranch style home with a daylight basement in an established community that has many families of different ages and backgrounds. The home has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a large fenced in back yard with plenty of room to run and play. We have relationships with all of our neighbors and enjoy grilling out and each other's company. There are children of all ages in our neighborhood and a park within walking distance. In addition to our nearby park, we live in an excellent school district with access to many libraries and recreational facilities. | Home Sweet Home | Our neighborhood park.

Just some ideas for the nursery | The only thing we know for sure is that there is a fish tank in the nursery and a big closet just waiting to be filled with baby clothes.

KIMCHEE | "Of course she shared her Popsicle" | We adopted Kimchee when she was 5 months old. She is one of the smartest and definitely the most loyal dogs. She enjoys walks, trips to the park, playing with Nami and going for car rides. She can't wait to be a big sister. | "Water...what water?" | She's happiest when it's time for a walk!

NAMI | Puppy Nami and big "sister" Kimchee | Nami joined our extended family in 2005 when we adopted her for James' little sister. Nami is currently living with us until his sister gets out of college and can take care of her again. She enjoys car rides, walks, swimming, kids and playing with Kimchee. | St. Patrick's day parade ready. | Big smile means it's car ride time!

OUR FRIENDS are some of our biggest supporters in life. They have become like family over the years.

Traditions & Holidays | Some special traditions in our family are Nana's Pajama Party at Christmas, going to the circus, Disney on Ice, our annual kayak/camping trip and trips to the beach with the entire family. We attend 3 family reunions a year and enjoy catching up with those loved ones we don't see often. We celebrate the holidays like everyone else, doing things like carving pumpkins, dressing up for Halloween, Easter egg hunts and decorating the Christmas tree. Birthdays are a big deal in our family no matter the age. There is always a party with family, friends, food and a lot of laughs. | Nana's Pajama Party | Easter egg hunting

We were both raised on the coast so most of our vacations take place around water and usually somewhere tropical. We have been very fortunate to see some beautiful beaches. We have spent time in the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico and Jamaica. We spend a few weeks during the spring on the Gulf Coast and the summer months traveling around spending time with friends and family all over the country. We promise to always let your child be themselves and to be proud of them no matter what. We promise to tell them and show them each and every day how much they are loved. We promise to tuck them in every night with prayers and a bedtime story. We promise to encourage him or her to follow their dreams. We promise to share our love of new places and cultures with them. We promise to always show nothing but respect for you and your family. We promise that your child will be a part of a large loving family including grandparents, many aunts and uncles, great-grandparents and of course cousins to play with.

Thank you again for taking the time to get to know us. We hope that you have a better sense of who we are, our love for each other and the love we will pour onto your child as they are welcomed into our family. We promise to always be honest, loving and supportive. We are committed to offering your child a life of unconditional love and constant nurturing. We believe that he/she should always know and feel your love as well and we will do everything we can to make sure of that. We look forward to getting to know you and learning about your interests and hobbies so that we may one day share them with your child. Know that we are praying for you and your child every day. | Julia | James | Kimchee | Nami
