FC: Jeff & Cheryl

1: We are Jeff and Cheryl and we want to thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We would like to start by expressing our respect, admiration, and thanks for your courage right now. We can't imagine the feelings you have or will experience in your decision to plan an adoption for your child. We are excited that you would consider us as loving parents and we pray that this book will give you a glimpse of who we are and who we hope to be as parents.

2: Jeff has brown hair and hazel eyes. His height is 5'11" | He has worked as a code enforcement officer for 21 years and has recently been promoted to supervisor. Jeff works 40 hours a week. | Jeff

3: Cheryl has dark brown hair and blue eyes. She is 5'4" She has worked as a Deputy Court Clerk for 14 years and works 40 hours a week. Her ultimate goal is to be a stay at home mom to her child. | If she returns to work part time, childcare will be provided by grandparents and church daycare. | Cheryl | If she is to return to work part time, childcare will be provided by church daycare.

4: It's hard to put all that Jeff is into words. I barely remember life before him and couldn't imagine life without him. Jeff is one of the smartest people I know. He can remember so much! He is very handy and can build and fix anything. One of the things that draws people to him is his smile and loving personality. He keeps me laughing! Jeff is a godly man. He is so disciplined to spend time with God everyday and pray about what's going on in his life. Children love Jeff. He will be a great father because of the way he loves and the knowledge he has to teach a child as they grow. | It is hard to put all Daniel is into words. I can barely remember life before him and couldn't imagine life without him. Daniel is one of the smartest people I know. He can remember so much! He is very handy and can build or fix anything. One of the things that draws people to him is his quick wit and humor. He always keeps me laughing! Daniel is a godly man. He is so disciplined to spend time with God everyday and pray about what's going on in his life. Children love Daniel (or Dan-Dan as our friend's children call him). He will be a great father because of the way he loves and the knowledge he has to teach a child as they grow. | About Jeff by Cheryl

5: About Cheryl by Jeff | If I had to describe Cheryl in one word it would be selfless. I have never known someone so willing to give of herself. Her service to our church highlights her heart for other people. She is so talented and creative. Despite struggles with infertility, she is still willing to give of herself to others. That's how I know she'll be a great mother. Her personal sacrifice often goes unnoticed and she continues to give. Her life is an example of "love your God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:37-39)

6: Our Church | We attend a Non-Denomination Church. We live about 5 minutes away and love the people there. We are involved in their ministries with Jeff serving as a usher and Cheryl as a greeter. We love our Church. They also have a great Children's Ministry!

7: We definitely consider the people there as part of our family. Our congregation is very close knit and come together to support each other. Our church has a wonderful program for children and youth! It has been a blessing for us to see our church grow over the last couple of years and we are blessed to be a part of such a loving group.

8: Jeff Chad Ed Dad | Jeff's Family | Cousins | Cousins | Brother Ed & Family

9: My Dad & brother Chad live less than 30 minutes away from our house. My brother Ed lives in Tennessee with his family. We take regular trips to Tennessee. My mom Dorothy passed away in 2006. We are a close knit family and we see or talk to each other at least once a week. The times that we spend together is going out to eat or to a movie.

11: I am very close to my family. I'm blessed to have my Mom and brothers just a few minutes away.They are excited about adding to the family. My Dad passed away in 2002. My mom Linda is getting ready to retire. My brother Allen has 2 children, Kristal & Allen Jr. My brother Donnie has a daughter Kristen. My family is pretty large, my mom is one of 5 and my dad is one of 10 children. There are a lot of cousins. No doubt this baby will have lots and lots of love and attention.

13: We live in a great neighborhood. We are only a couple minutes away from family, church, and elementary school. We have sweet neighbors with lots of kids and very safe and fun environment. There are always people walking and biking around our street. Our house has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a large back yard.

14: We have lived in this house for over 5 years. We love to entertain our family and friends on the back porch..grilling and relaxing. | Our Living Room | Dinning Room | Warm and Inviting... A big backyard...

16: Our Beginning Told by Cheryl Jeff and I met through my cousin. There was an instant connection and a feeling that we had known each other for a long time. I knew within a few months that this was the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. We were married on October 7th 2000. | 2003 | 2000 | 1999 | we met | married | Our Story

17: 2012 | 2009 | 2006 | The day we married was a nice fall day. The wedding was nice and small with some family and a few friends. Jeff and I decided to take a road trip for a honeymoon something I wouldn't do again! Cheryl got food poisoning, but recovered within 24 hrs. We went to Tennessee to see family. We had a really good time. We've been married for 12 wonderful years now and I couldn't have asked for a better husband.

18: This is our cat Santa Fe. She is 12 years old and very sweet. She's is very mellow and not afraid of children. She is the sweetest.. | Pets | Santa Fe

19: We adopted Santa Fe at a pet shelter and named her after the restaurant from our first date!

20: Friends and Family

22: Going Clockwise... Our first cruise, Cheryl taking pictures of Jeff, Us at Disneyland, Jeff playing pool with his niece, Us on our second cruise, Out to dinner with family.

23: Our Hobbies | Jeff Enjoys traveling, running, cycling, and hanging out with friends watching football. One of his most memorable vacations was renting a cabin in the smoky mountains. Cheryl Enjoys photography, scrapbooking, and spending time with friends. She loves to go on family vacations and go to the movies with Jeff.

24: Jeff with Marilyn Monroe!!! | Out of all the hobbies & interests we have, our favorite is just being together. We love to go on cruises. But most of all, we enjoy the time in the car driving there talking about what's going on in our lives and singing with the radio.

25: Having Fun | Whether it's watching a movie, making a meal, or just sitting on the porch: we are going to have fun and enjoy each other. We are so excited for the chance to bring a child into our family to share the love that we have for each other.

26: Our Marriage | Our marriage is faith based and very strong. Because we have known each other for so long, our strengths include good communication and the tendency to know what the other is thinking. We have very distinct roles in our marriage: Cheryl cooks, and cleans house, Jeff does laundry and cuts the grass. One of the ways we could grow our marriage is to know more about the other's role in the family. We are a great team and work together to make decisions. Our family goal is to raise a child to love God and bring them up in a Christian home as we were.

27: One of the ways that our faith has grown and our marriage has been strengthened is through infertility. We have tried to conceive for 10 years and Cheryl has had to have a Hysterectomy. We have been very blessed to have our supportive friends and family through this time. Through prayer and guidance from other adoptive parents, we made the decision to begin the adoption process. We were fortunate to be like-minded when we made the decision. We feel it is a privilege to bring a child into our family just as God brings us into His.

28: Parenting is something we are ready to experience. We believe that there must be a balance between discipline and fun. We believe that we would have a loving home and would teach our child to be respectful and compassionate to others. | Parenting

29: Our discipline styles would be age appropriate and we are committed to finding a way to make sure our child knows that we mean what we say and they can trust us. | We both had great models for parenting with our parents and grandparents and believe that our different personalities will make for a great parenting team. | Discipline

30: sunny days | We will tell our child about their adoption when it is age appropriate. At our church, there are several children who are adopted. Also,Cheryl's cousin adopted his son Dillon, and our families are familiar with talking about it. We will make sure our child knows the love of their parents and their Heavenly Father. | Adoption

31: spring is here! | Baby Girl | We would describe you to your child in a respectful and loving light because of the choice you are making. We will send updates and pictures of your child as long as you desire and will always respect your privacy.

32: We are so excited about the possibility of sharing our life with your precious child and hope this book has given you a glimpse of what that life would be like. We want you to know that our home is warm and happy and will always be a place of love and encouragement.
