FC: The Little Book of Healing | A book of prayer, encouragement and love.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ~John 3:16

Peace | The Serenity Prayer | God grant me the serenity | to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; | and wisdom to know the difference. | Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; | Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world | as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right | if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life | and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. | Amen ~Reinhold Niebhur

Serenity is not freedom from the storm, but peace amid the storm. ~Anonymous

Comfort | Footprints in the Sand | One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky. | In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was only one. | This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord, | “You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?” | The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars. ~Og Mandino

Joy | The Road Not Taken | Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both | And be one traveler, long I stood | And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; | Then took the other, as just as fair, | And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; | Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, | And both that morning equally lay | In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! | Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. | I shall be telling this with a sigh | Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— | I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. | ~Robert Frost

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. ~Philippians 4:13

Faith | The Lord's Prayer | Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. | Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, | on earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread. | And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. | And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. | For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, | for ever and ever. | Amen.

Faith | Psalm 23 | The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. | He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. | He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. | Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. | Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. | Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

Peace | These are the Days | These are the days of the endless summer These are the days, the time is now There is no past, there's only future There's only here, there's only now | Oh your smiling face, your gracious presence The fires of spring are kindling bright Oh the radiant heart and the song of glory Crying freedom in the night | These are the days by the sparkling river His timely grace and our treasured find This is the love of the one magician Turned the water into wine | vThese are days of the endless dancing and the Long walks on the summer night These are the days of the true romancing When I'm holding you oh, so tight | These are the days by the sparkling river His timely grace and our treasured find This is the love of the one great magician Turned water into wine | These are the days now that we must savor And we must enjoy as we can These are the days that will last forever You've got to hold them in your heart. | ~Van Morrison

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog. ~Mark Twain

Hope is the companion of power, and mother of success; for who so hopes strongly has within him the gift of miracles. ~Samuel Smiles

Hope | Hope is the thing with feathers | That perches in the soul, | And sings the tune--without the words, | And never stops at all, | And sweetest in the gale is heard; | And sore must be the storm | That could abash the little bird | That kept so many warm. | I've heard it in the chillest land, | And on the strangest sea; | Yet, never, in extremity, | It asked a crumb of me. | ~Emily Dickinson

My strength has the strength of ten because my heart is pure. ~Alfred, Lord Tennyson

Come Sail Away | I'm sailing away Set an open course for the Virgin Sea | 'Cause I've got to be free Free to face the life that's ahead of me | On board, I'm the captain So climb aboard | We'll search for tomorrow on every shore And I'll try, oh Lord, I'll try to carry on | I look to the sea Reflections in the waves spark my memory | Some happy, some sad I think of childhood friends and the dreams we had | We lived happily forever So the story goes | But somehow we missed out on the pot of gold But we'll try best that we can to carry on | A gathering of Angels appeared above my head They sang to me this song of hope and this is what they said | They said, "Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me lads Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me | Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me baby Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me" | ~Styx | Peace
