The next day my mom woke me up really early in the morning. Our family and my grandparents went to my aunt's friend's house for breakfast. We had a good time at breakfast, but after my mom told me that we had to drive all the way to my grandma's which was two hours away. During the car ride I tried to go to sleep but it was really hard because my brothers were arguing. As we were driving into New Orleans everything was destroyed and you could see the water line on each house from the flooding. When we were about to arrive at my grandma's house in the country side I could see familiar places that were in ruins from the hurricane. After all of this we finally arrived at my grandma's house. We couldn't even see her house it was completely destroyed. The only thing that was left were pieces of wood and shattered glass. There was only one thing that was left standing and that was the Virgin Mary sitting on the side of what was left of my grandma's house. I will never forget that.
The one that wasn't fun at all was a nice small house with a pool and I found a basketball to play with so I wouldn't get bored. I was on a hill and I accidentally let go of the ball and it rolled down the hill onto a blue surface I had never seen before. I ran down the hill onto the blue surface and all of a sudden I feel into water. I didn't know it was a pool covered by tarp and I started screaming so my mom had to come help my out. The other house that we went to was a very big blue house with a big backyard, I really liked it. The inside was a three floor house with a lot of space and a very big kitchen. The basement was very big but it was finished but my parents said if we bought the house we were going to finish it. The middle floor was also very big with a master bedroom that had a nice bathroom with a walk in shower and a big bathtub. And the upstairs was fairly big with its own bathroom and three separate rooms. I really loved this house and so did my parents.
Today was Mardi Gras and I was so excited for it I could barely wait to leave my grandma's house. My cousins and family were in the car driving to find a spot to catch beads. We finally found a pretty good spot and my mom left so she could pick us up something to eat. When she came back the parade hadn't started yet and she brought us pop eyes friend chicken. When the parade started I was so excited I couldn't wait for the people on the floats to throw me beads. When they started throwing beads I was trying to catch as much as I could but they were flying everywhere. Not only were they throwing beads but they were throwing cups and toy balls. I tried to collect as many things as I could.Great Grandparents
I had never been in a boat before and I didn't realize how much fun they were. Our boat was gliding across the water so fast and bumping up and down. I was smiling the whole entire time. When we found a good spot to go fishing we stop the boat and dropped the anchor. My dad had to teach me and Adam how to cast and reel in and to tell when there was a fish on the line. I remember I can see myself casting right now and seeing the bobber go underwater. Once I set the hook and it was to reel in but I eventually got him. When I pulled him up it was just a stupid catfish and we weren't fishing for those but at least I caught my first fish. After a long day of fishing we decided to head back to the marina. I only caught a few fish but I had a good time the whole day. Sitting out on the boat laying and the sun and eating snacks and fishing. After that I knew I loved fishing and I couldn't wait to do it again.
My mom finally got all of her valuable jewelry and things in her suitcase and we left for the hotel. When we got into the hotel we checked in and went to our room. My mom told me that my cousins went to the same hotel and their room was right down the hall from ours. So my brother and I went to go see them and talk to them. We played video games for a little while and then went back to our room. A day later was when the hurricane was suppose to be coming in. So I can remember hiding underneath one of the hotel beds because I was so scared something bad was going to happen. I remember hearing the rain and the wind from the hurricane outside which made me even mored scared. Eventually it stopped and I got out from underneath the bed. When we heard on the news it was safe to go back home we checked out of the hotel. | \
