S: The great sleepover
BC: The sleepover has ended, the tale has been told the time has come for us all to go home But we won't forget all the things, that we've done All the games we have played, all the songs we have sung So until the next time, when we meet once again to tell more of the stories of the closest of kin.
FC: the great sleepover
Come along with us, grab on, take hold As the tale of the Great Sleepover is about to be told | For Linkin and Finnley Millea Written with lots of love from Grandma 2012
The very first nite to our utter delight We watched our favorite flick We each got a treat Something icy and sweet We enjoyed them to the last lick
Rub a dub dub four kids in a tub Trying to all get clean They scrubbed and they scrubbed And when they were done The water had turned a strange green | So Sullivan jumped out with a loud boisterous shout Leaving just only the three And it was quite soon Kind of like a typhoon That Finnley also would flee That left Link and Miller To continue this thriller Of the water with the strange eerie hue But they were content Since the others had went To play like little boys do
It was time for bed but we just couldn't sleep So Nana suggested that we try counting sheep When we thought of those wooly white creatures of fluff Our thoughts started drifting to pillows and stuff Was it Miller who had the first gleam in his eye Or Linkin or Finnley, maybe Sullivan, oh my Before we knew it the pillows were flying It was wild and crazy, certainly no lullabying
When the feathers had settled and we were in bed And Grandpa had chosen the book to be read We settled ourselves to earnestly listen to the tale of one who was like a magician When the kingdom was safe and the day had been saved Grandpa closed the book and had this to say | Now Miller and Link And Sullivan and Finn what a wonderful amazing day it has been And now it is time we all said good night And with that we got kisses And off went the light
When morning had come We had but one thought We wanted our pancakes - homemade- not store bought So Nana pulled out her recipe of old and mixed them up like making spun gold | We all took our turn to flip at the griddle the boys on the end and Finn in the middle
We sat down to eat but before we would start We gave thanks to God for the very large part that He plays in our lives and whatever we do Whether we're playing with friends or learning at school
Nana and Grandpa, they have special trees that bear a sweet fruit thats too small to squeeze the cherry is the name of this delicious red fruit Besides being yummy it's tiny and cute
Cherries we love them We gobble them up | Right out of our hand or straight from a Cup | We picked them one day till there was no more But we, lucky us, had cherries galore
We took a hike to the river one day The Rio Grande, that is to say We saw horses and dogs and critters galore But we kept our eyes peeled for the river's green shore When we finally arrived at our mighty river It wasn't so mighty, just more of a sliver
We discovered the best thing at the river to do Is to squish up the mud like it's some special goo We squished through our fingers and then through our toes And if Nana would let us, we'd squish through our nose
To hike is a great and grand thing to do But as the trek went on, we wondered, says who? But we followed on, as Grandpa led trying to listen to all that he said He told of coyotes and muskrats and things And rivers and creeks and burbling springs
We loved the hike But what we loved best Was being together on this latest conquest Because we are cousins All for one, one for all And we're there for each other, for every close call
Nana and Grandpa, they have a cool pool And we are good in the pool as a rule But on this afternoon, Grandpa on his raft We did our very best to flip his fine craft After doing our best, but unable to flop it, We splished and we splashed him, until he yelled "Stop It!"
To learn new things in the pool is so cool Kind of like what we do at our school. We can go underwater and open our eyes And paddle like doggies going after a prize Our goal is to swim just like little fish Yes, this is our goal and this is our wish.
Finnley can float on her back, it's a breeze She just puts her head back and pulls up her knees Sullivan brings his skills on the court into the pool for a new b-ball sport
After a day of fun in the pool We lounge in the shade where it's comfy and cool. We talk about all the great things we have done. We talk about each of them, one by one.
Our Nana has asked us to pose for a pic She says "Say Cheese" and the camera goes click But something's not right, we will try it again Was someone not smiling, did a frown creep in? We try it once more and once more and once more And then she says to us all, yes all four!
Each picture was perfect, she says with a grin Of Linkin, and Miller and Sullivan and Finn They show how special each of you are God made you each a sweet shining star
