Thank You for Being a Friend it's not just the Golden Girls song! Thank you for being a friend Traveled down the road and back again your heart is true you're a pal and a confidant I'm not ashamed to say I hope it always will stay this way My hat is off, won't you stand up and take a bow And if you threw a party Invited everyone you knew You would see, the biggest gift would be from me and the card attached would say, Thank you for being a friend
Kenzie, I'm so grateful to have such a faithful friend in you. We met before our lives' adventures began - before braces, before boys, before break-ups - and have remained close throughout the years. I cherish so many memories with you, from drinking beer at MacDonalds in Germany to dancing around to Prince in your living room. Although at the time I think he was "the artist formerly known as Prince." So, here's to all the memories we've shared - summer band, boneless Chuck, Herr Brostrom, Homecoming, Aerosmith, Cussland, countless visits near and far and everything Juicy to name a few - and to all the memories we've yet to make. I love you! Molly
I'm pretty sure I left you without a single direction on my wedding day, yet somehow you knew exactly what I wanted and what to do. This is my favorite photo of the two of us. It captures that moment perfectly. | Corona del Mar 2012

The Things Kenzie & Jana Learned from a Little Red Glove 1.This will always be Rule Number One - Never put anything on the roof of a car! No matter the circumstances resist the temptation! 2.The laundry money you saved up in college comes in handy for slot machines at a casino. If you lose it it’s not much money and if you win, thats a cup of coffee at the corner shop. 3.Prince not only has put out great songs but he also has provided great quotes for elevators! 4.Clearly read maps before traveling down hairpin filled roads into a canyon in the rain. Unless you want to do it multiply times. 5.Last but not least: It gets cold in the desert and even snows – always have your little red gloves along; both of them! Kenzie, I’m so glad I could be the one to help you move to the O.C. years ago! That was an adventurous trip on many levels! I had a great vacation and I’m pretty sure you had moments of fun too when you weren't stressed about the whole transition. With that trip we entered sisterhood, took a trip to Venice, went hiking through one of the most beautiful canyons, and almost lost many things off the roof of your car! I’m so happy we took that road trip together – I knew then as I do now that that move to CA would be one of the best decisions of your life because it not only shaped who you are but it also led you to meeting Max! Graham, William, Julia, and I couldn't be any happier for the two of you! We love you both! Congratulations!

Will, Jules, and Auntie K | Frederick, Maryland April 2012
What I remember most about your time in Utrecht is the remarkable small and disgusting kitchen you had at your place. So, a (authentic Albert Heijn) recipe you can make in your own, clean kitchen for your new husband seems a good idea! Pasta with pesto, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and arugula Mix freshly prepared pesto with sauteed cherry tomatoes and hot pasta. Season with salt and pepper. Put a good handful of arugula and some small cubes of mozzarella on top. Mix well and add some parmesan cheese. Eet smakelijk! We wish you both many many happy meals together!
Remember getting that crappy rental car and driving from Utrecht to Arhus together? I think that is when I got to know you a whole lot better! | Kenzie, To me you are the best matchmaker EVER!!!!!!
UW Madison! Freshman Year: UW Madison 1998. We made the best out of being in Ogg West, the ghetto of the UW-Madison Dorms! Remember when the boys blocked your door with all of the furniture from the common space? How about all the girls having a crush on that one guy from the 8th floor? Where did you guys get those swim goggles??
 Ogg West 1998
Sophomore Year Among all of the parties at Randall Station, fires in the oven, that bout of mono we both had... We also traveled to London and Scotland for Spring Break! Met up with Graham and Jana and Andy to explore what the UK had to offer!
I think this was our first adult beverage in London. Right before we got on the metro and rode it to the last stop and were then lost. | London "Bed and Breakfast" that we stumbled on while waiting in line at the airport or train station.
Junior Year 105 S. Randall 5 girls. 1 bathroom. Ciaos Ensued. 21st Birthdays. That teeny tiny bedroom you had. Mice. Backed up sewage. The true collegiate housing experience!
Halloween was always a big deal in Madison! | This was perhaps our first party at 105 S. Randall.
Tim McGraw said it nicely: My old friend, I recall The times we had hanging on my wall I wouldn't trade them for gold Cause they laugh and they cry me Somehow sanctify me They're woven in the stories I have told And tell again.... 29: Date to a wedding at the Port of LA. | Crystal Cove State Beach
Kenzie, I love seeing these photos from your friends and family so I can get glimpses of who you were before you landed in California. It's not a surprise that you've been a bright spot in their lives, too. And I'm so glad you did land here, and for the time we spent together after grad school. Bike rides, dinners, shows, adventures with Arlene, even our nerdy trip to the "green port"...with you in Portland, no wonder I'm not having as much fun here anymore! It makes me smile to remember when you first started getting emails from this guy named Max in Canada. Heartfelt congratulations to both of you for fanning that flame and keeping it burning bright! I'm so happy to see you take the next step in building a life together. love, mina
Newport Back Bay | We heart Ira! (I still have my ticket.)
Kenzie: Although we only saw each other once or twice a year growing up, and it's spaced out now that we are older, I still feel like every time I see you time hasn't passed. I am so happy for you and Max, and cannot wait to continue to get together with you, and now your husband, throughout our lifetimes. From us as little tykes hanging out on the farm in Iowa, to going on family vacations all over the country, to visiting each other in college and spring break road trips, to being in my wedding and getting together with the girl cousins on the coasts, I can only hope that the fun continues! Love you cousin!! -Erin
Little did we know in 1980 just how cool we would be as we grew up! | Maybe we can pierce our noses again together when we are in our forties?

Celebrating my special day | Two wonderful aunts
Remember the road trip? I don't think we really knew what we were getting into, but I have so many good memories from that trip. The cheap hotels, the picnic lunches, getting stuck on the wrong side of the ferry... And apparently you and I didn't take any pictures together! We'll have to do the west coast for the sequel and correct that omission. I do think that week in the car set the stage for other get-togethers we've had over the years, in Manning, Phoenix, California , DC. I look forward to many more to come. Love you! -Andrea
Remember having no money to tip that amazing waiter in New Orleans and the joy on his face when we came back? | Our day on the dunes in North Carolina. I still have my kite!
Kenzie~ It was a nice trip down memory lane when I was searching for pictures for your photo book. I remember those first few memories of when we met way back in first grade. Unfortunately I do not have any of the pictures from our early days. But I do remember the sleepovers, playing with our My Child dolls, and with our My Little Ponies. Then on to our junior high and high school days (which is where my pictures pick up) and memories of our trips to Colorado and frying our faces in the Colorado sun while skiing and hanging out with Mickey in Florida during spring breaks. Memories of soccer and our week with the Russian boys, and hanging out in Excelsior and our midnight walks through the neighborhood. Then following our graduation from high school who knew that our journey would continue together at UW-Madison...
Did we really wear these hideous candy striper uniforms?? | Wearing our stinky Russian jerseys

The many Badger hockey and football games and our trip to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl! Being roommates and the crazy dance parties in our apartments on a random Tuesday night. Summer nights at the Union and sledding on lunch trays, just to mention a few. I am so happy for you and the new adventure you are about to embark upon. I want to congratulate you and Max and wish you guys many happy years to come! Love you! Jenny
Go Badgers!! | College house parties
Kenzie, I admit that sometimes when I think of you, I still see you in my mind's eye as the adorable little girl struggling to pronounce the letter R and I think of us playing on the farm together - dressing the cats in doll clothes (poor cats) and decorating a "cabin" (for no discernible reason). You grew up into a wonderful, kind, funny, smart and beautiful woman who I am proud to call family. I wish you and Max all the happiness in the world. Congratulations! XXXOOO Cherie
Washing the dishes on Christmas. All the girl cousins! | You and Max visiting Chris and me in Phoenix. We really love having you for visits!

It is possible that we are holding hands here. Calgary is a very romantic place! | To a lifetime of adventure!
People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway. If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway. What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway. Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway. In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway. Mother Teresa This is one of my favorite poems and words to live by! Congratulations and best wishes to you and Max! We are so happy to have you and him as part of our extended family! Love, Marj
