BC: Our memories with you... Christmas 2010
FC: To: Grandma Love: The Grandkids
Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday, Grandma we all have so many wonderful memories with you and we wanted to share our most favorite ones this year Love, Nicole, Becky, Nathan, Erica, and Nolan
We all have great memories of the Disney music boxes. They always seemed to come out when we were the only people at the house. It was always so frustrating because you only let us have one out at a time. But once you wound that one up it was like watching magic!
On a trip to the farm, we were driving down the interstate. You were driving, Grandpa was in the passenger seat, and Nathan and I were in the backseat. A semi passed us and Grandpa and I started talking about how many wheels a semi had. We couldn't decide, so you sped up to 10 mph over the speed limit to catch the semi so we would know how many wheels it had.!I've never seen you drive so fast!!!!
The best time I've ever had with you has been as an adult. When I was at KU, I used to go up to the farm on the weekends. It was so nice cooking with you and going for long walks together. It's fun to get to know you on a more mature level,to realize you had an interesting life before you were 'Grandma'"
I used to love when you and Grandpa came to visit St. Louis. When you'd pull up Erica & I would run outside to meet you. You always had books for us in your suitcase. In the morning, Mom would have us go downstairs to wake you up. It was so much fun thinking that we were sneaking up on you, but you were always waiting with big hugs
On one trip to the farm, Grandpa decided he wanted to have rabbit for dinner so him and I grabbed the trusty pellet gun and headed out on the country roads to find our dinner. We came back with a skinned and dressed rabbit that I caught, ready for you to cook, but then you announced that you would not be cooking or eating that rabbit, so if Grandpa wanted to eat it, he could cook it himself. Needless to say, we did not have rabbit for supper that night. That was the first and last rabbit hunt at the farm.
Becky and I still laugh about the time we came up to visit the farm and got my Corolla stuck in the mud of a country road. You and Grandpa couldn't get over how incompetent us "city kids" were!
fds | My favorite memories with you are the countless days in Hays that you and I would hang out in the family room, and empty out the game closet and play Rummy, Go Fish, and play with the dolls you had. You're the only reason I know how to play Rummy!!
My best memory with you is when I used to go to Arrington and we would just sit in the house and play games with all of the old toys that were there.
" "The love of a family is life's greatest blessing."
