FC: Every good and perfect gift is from above. James 1:17
1: Dear Birthmother, First we want to say that you are making an amazing, courageous decision by choosing adoption for your baby. We believe that God has already set His plan in motion for your baby. Also we want you to know that we have been praying for you for a long time. We are excited to meet you and share in this journey together! God Bless You!
2: We met early in 2007 and by June 30th were married! Melissa was an elementary school teacher for 14 years but is now a stay at home mom. David has worked for the Houston Fire Department for 20 years. We enjoy watching movies, working in the yard, and spending time with our children and family.
3: Our Adoption Story The adventure of adoption actually began for us just one even before we met. Melissa went in for routine foot surgery only to find out that she had a congenital heart defect. It only affected her life slightly and did not require medication so she thought little of it. Then she met David and their whirlwind romance began. Soon after we got married, we decided that they wanted to have a child of our own. David had already shown that he was an amazing step-father to her two daughters and Melissa knew he would be an equally amazing dad. However, her heart condition began to worsen. Her doctors advised against another pregnancy. So we began to think about adopting. We had even discussed it on the first date. It was something each had always thought about doing. After a ton of paperwork and preparation on February 10th, 2009, we got the call we had been waiting for...a baby girl was born in Dallas and she needed a family. We were elated and Kierstin joined our family. In December 2010, it became necessary for Melissa to undergo a procedure to correct her heart condition. The doctor even said "Cured!" Now a year later, we feel that God is calling us to adopt again.

8: We have options about where to put the nursery in our home. Although we have 4 bedrooms...we have a plan. If we have a baby girl placed with us, she will share a room with Kierstin in the pink room above. If a baby boy is placed in our home, then McKenna will move into Kierstin's room with her and her blue room will become the baby's room. Ands yes...McKenna brought up the idea!
