Moments since 1941 | A lot has happened in the last 70 years. Since 1941, empires have risen & fallen, remote controls, microwaves & computers have been introduced, Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, Elvis hit the music scene, then died, but has since been seen in Las Vegas. While these events may mark the memories of most people, we choose to reflect instead on the less renowned, but cherished life of my dad. My direct interaction with you only spans 41 years, but the sum of your 70 has impacted and molded me throughout my life. I am grateful for who you are because it has made me who I am. So, here's to you, Dad. A tribute, if you will -- We're celebrating our favorite moments with you. | Carla

For my darling husband, First of all, happy, happy birthday! I am thrilled to be celebrating so many times with you! We have been very fortunate to share such a wonderful life... full of love, laughter, fun, with only a few tears. There are so many wonderful things to share... our fantastic family, love of travel, glass.... just being together... whether in Michigan, California, Colorado, New York, Paris, London or Prague...with family, friends or ophthalmologists!
Memories of you posing in museums, rushing through airiports, enjoying delicious dinners, chocolate, and more chocolate, your patience with my desire to take tours, meeting artists and visiting their studios, moving glass, fun with Emily, Braidyn, Sasha, Hope and Caleb, tasting wine in Napa, sushi in LA, Thanksgiving zaniness, family | cruises, gyms all over the world, laughing until tears run down our faces, Sunday movies, etc. etc. etc, but most of all just being together.... You are my best friend and it's been so | great! Hope to share the next 70 years with you!
Dear Hal, Thank you for enriching our lives with forty seven years of wisdom, good company, great times and love. You are the best brother anyone could have. Happy Birthday and many, many more.
One of the best things about our relationship now is watching you with my kids. There's a quote that says 'great fathers get promoted to grandfathers.' As a dad, you were a great playmate. You would run just as hard and fast as me to get to Space Mountain when they dropped the red rope opening up the magic that was (and still is) Disney World. Year after year, you rode in flying elephants and stood in line to shake hands with a giant mouse, all in the name of fun for your daughters. As a | dad, you were a great teacher, instilling in me a love for art, theater and literature. You attended more than your share of recitals and school performances, camera in hand. I smile at the memory of videos which capture my every move as a minor character, while the main action continues off-screen. You even tolerated a houseful of rowdy Yalies, who emptied the pantry, but filled the halls with warm harmonies. As a dad, you were a great encourager, pushing me to be my best. I remember how you would sacrifice vacation time in the sun to take me somewhere I could practice piano. With a good book in your lap (and at times a pipe on your lips), you would cough, grunt, snort, drop your book and adjust your chair while I played to 'help' me learn to stay focused. I'm not sure my concentration or my playing improved, but at least I could report to Mrs. Stasson that I had indeed practiced. Now you are a playmate, teacher and encourager to my children, and together, you and I plan trips, toting much smaller cameras, but many more kids. I listen as you serenade sleepy ones with 'the goodnight song,' and hear echoes of that same melody from years ago. What a privilege I have to follow in your footsteps as a parent. What I joy I have to call you my dad and to hear Emily, Braidyn, Sasha, Hope and one day Caleb call you their Papa. I love you, Dad!
Happy Birthday Dad I love you mucho xoxo
Husband, father, papa, and doctor are all titles I have heard you called. None come close to fully describing the fun-loving, athletic, highly intelligent, disciplined, cultured, and sophisticated man that I know as my father-in-law. While I have only known you for 14 years, I have learned a lot about what it means to be a husband and father from watching you and your interaction with Carla, Alli, and Myra. You are a terrific grandfather to our kids and I admire so many of your qualities. You are clearly a man who loves and cares for your family above all else. Thank you for sharing them so freely with me. Your life and legacy live on through your daughters and your grandkids. We all love you and admire you. Happy Birthday!! Love, Geoff
