1: There is so much to learn about animals.
2: Flamingos have long skinny necks and legs that bend backwards at the knees. They stand on one leg a lot. They eat insects and algae which makes them turn pink. A group of flamingos is a colony. A baby flamingo is called a chick.
4: Zebra | Zebras are black with white stripes. No two zebras have the same stripes. The stripes help hide them in the tall grass. They eat mostly grass, | Zebra
5: but will eat twigs, shrubs, leaves and bark. They live a in group called a harem. A baby zebra is called a foal.
6: Giraffes have very long necks which help them reach the tops of trees. They like to eat twigs and leaves, but will also | eat grass and fruit. They live in open wooded ares. A baby giraffe is called a calf. They live in a group called a tower. | Giraffe
9: Elephants have a long nose called a trunk. They use their trunks like hands to pick stuff up and to feed themselves. Some elephants have tusks. Tusks look like big horns. Tusks are used to dig for water, salt, and roots. Elephants live in grasslands and forests near water. Elephants eat leaves, bark, and fruits of trees and shrubs. They can spend up to 16 hours a day eating! A group of elephants is called a herd or a parade. A baby elephant is called a calf.
10: Polar Bears | Polar bears live the Arctic up North where it is very cold. They have clear fur that looks white to our eyes, but their skin is black. This helps them hide in the snow. They like to eat seals. A baby polar bear is called a cub. Polar bears normally live by themselves. A group of polar bears is called a celebration!
12: Lion | The male lions have shaggy hair around their face called a mane. The female lion, called lioness, does not have that fur. A lion's roar can be heard up to 5 miles away. The eat other large animals like zebras and wildebeest. A baby lion is called a cub. A group of lions is called a pride.
