10: Learning Objectives: For students to learn basic skills of basketball; Defense, Rebound, Dribble, Shoot, Layup, Dunk, Coaching, and Team Unity Behavioral Objectives: Students will understand each concept and will also obtain the ability to re-enact most of the basic basketball skills. At the end of the lesson students will understand the importance of team unity and hardwork. For students: 1st through 5th grade students The instructor will discuss each skill with the group of students. After discussing each skill the teacher will have the students re-enact each skill. At the end of the lesson the teacher will give the students a skill and they will be able to re-enact it. Ex. Instructor: Everyone dribble Students: Begin to dribble the basketball
11: The instructor will then put the students in groups and each group will be in charge of acting out one of the skills. The instructor can then take pictures of the students acting these skills out. The instructor then can put together a mixbook of basic basketball skills. Each student will then have the ability to see each skill at any given time. Students will be assessed by their participation throughout the unit. Students will also receive a + or - on their grade sheet if they can identify a given basketball skill.
