 The Life of Taylor Martin
Most people have a hero. A person they admire and look up to. Someone who's inspiring. My whole life, my hero has been Ann Martin. My mom has endured her hardships gracefully throughout her life. My mom is my hero, my inspiration and my best friend. She hasn't failed to support me in my decisions and is the most optimistic person I have met. She puts others before herself day in and out. My mom thinks of my sisters and myself before any decisions and does what is best for us. She is always there to listen to me no matter what I have to say. I am so proud to say she is my mom. She's beautiful, loving and has always inspired me in my faith. She reminds me that life is never that bad. I don't have a clue where I would be in life without my mom. She's my hero.
Mark Martin, the man I am honored to say is my father. He has grown up giving and now volunteers his time to help those in need. My dad has been a huge influence in my life. He's always there when I need him and puts Macy and me first. I am so lucky to have a father who cares so much about me. He's always willing to sacrifice his own time for me. My dad loves to love. He lives his life for God and inspires me to do the same. We have spent every Tuesday and Thursday together for as long as I can remember and it is time I will always cherish.
Beautiful, ambitious, inspiring. My sister Macy is twenty years old and is my role model. Macy has always set a great example for me through life. Whether it was on the playground as kids or now watching the kids on the playground, Macy taught me right from wrong. I see the way she treats others and it motivates me to do the same. She has a gentle and kinda way about her, but never fails to make me laugh too. I've always been able to share my thoughts with Macy and together, we have created unforgettable memories. Though we argue like any sisters, she is the first person I think of in a difficult situation. She brightens a room with her uplifting and enthusiastic personality. I am always flattered to hear I remind someone of Macy. I can definitely say I have followed in Macy's footsteps and that's because I have seen how amazing of a sister, teacher and friend to me she is. | Macy
I have another amazing sister, Teri. She's the oldest of us three, but it's never stopped me from confiding in her. She's always someone who is there to listen and to to help me get through anything. She's always looking out for others. Although I don't get to see her very often, the time spent is always great. I look up to her in many ways. She somehow manages to attend college for nursing and run a household. She's an outstanding mom, daughter and sister. Teri has a way of making a whole room laugh with her witty sense of humor and also is the first to help anyone. I truly hope someday I will be as an amazing of a woman she is. | Teri
My | I have been blessed with the most amazing nephew I could ask for. Cole Joseph means more to me than anyone. I remember waking up January 23 to a panicked mother. My sister Teri was going into labor with Cole and we sped the whole way to West Bend. Ever since Cole was born, he has never stopped entertaining. He is more intelligent than any other 7 year old I have met. He loves to learn and share his knowledge. Cole has a strong personality for being so young and shares it with everyone he encounters. I thank God each day for him, I couldn't imagine him not in my life.
On January 23, 2010 I walked onto the snow filled, ice covered Columbia Lake. Emily and I had walked around the entire lake in hopes of ice fishermen purchasing frozen candy bars or half spilled cold hot chocolate to support Sunny Day. I heard "what're you doing here," and when we looked Emily told me that was Cole, the one she had told me about. He asked his dad for money and while buying a candy bar, him and his dad made fun of me for wearing "slippers" on the ice. I rolled my eyes and walked away thinking that was the last time I'd have to deal with him. Cole and I have now been dating eleven months. He's not only my boyfriend, but a best friend too. We spend every second we can together and have yet to get sick of each other. He's the only guy who's ever seen all the sides of me and oddly enough, he likes it. I am so lucky to have a boyfriend who would do anything for me. He's a hard worker, but finds the fun in everything. He never fails to make me smile. I know Cole will always be a part of my life because I couldn't imagine it without him. He's the best. | Coles
To put it simply, Marisa is my best friend. She's the one person who knows more about me than myself. We have been inseparable since we were in fourth grade and it was no surprise to me when our class voted us "attached at the hip." We are. Our memories began when she unexpectedly invited me to Six Flags with her family. That one weekend was all we needed. Since then, we have shared everything, our clothes, our thoughts and our lives. We still haven't found a reason to fight and I don't think we ever will. I am so lucky to have Marisa as my best friend. She's the most beautiful girl I know with a heart to match. She can make me happy no matter what. I know I would be lost in life without this girl and I have no doubt we will be best friends forever. I can't wait to have a peeing boy statue connecting our houses. | Marisa
The Snooki to my Jwow, the cherry to my coke, the E to my T. I met Emily Melby last summer at the Iola pool. It was her first official day working at Sunny Day and I couldn't figure her out. She was quiet, yet friendly, but kept her distance from me. I later came to find out she found me quite intimidating. The next day we worked together and made small talk to avoid an awkward silence. As our conversation grew, we realized we had more in common than we thought. Since then we've had many wild adventures. She's not only an amazing worker, but has become one of my best friends. I think it's safe to say, we have never disagreed. We share the same beliefs and thoughts. We both plan to become elementary teachers and hopefully attend colleges near each other. Emily has proven to me that not all Iola people are hicks. She is always there to listen to me and has never failed to comfort me. She is a beautiful girl with a huge heart. She allows me to express my crazy self and tens to jump in with the craziness. My job and my high school career wouldn't be the same without her and I am so blessed to haver her in my life. | EMILY | AKA The BAMF

She has always been an amazing friend to me. She's never failed to be there when I need her. She supports me in my decisions and has helped me through so much in life. I have so many unforgettable memories with Emily, many of which happened in Florida last spring break. She's one person that can make me hyper and once we start, we don't stop. She will always be in my life, she has to. I don't know what I would do without her.
Maggie | Kooey | I have known Maggie since I was four years old and I can say with confidence, she is not funny. She tries each and everyday to make people laugh but seems to cross the line between funny and awkward. Although her jokes tend to make a room fall silent, I can't help to laugh. Maggie and I have a friendship unlike many. We can share our innermost secrets or act like five year olds, but always have a good times. Maggie is someone I look up to in my faith and dedication. She lives her life for God and dedicates herself to her passions. She excels in all aspects of her life and has never failed to be a great to me. | Kathleen Snider was my first best friend. I have known her since I was two and has remained as one of my best friends ever since. She is one of the funniest and carefree people I know. She lets the petty stresses of life roll off of her and I admire her for that. I love to talk to Kooey; she's the best listener I know. She has the best fashion and the best hair, but still remains her modest self. She has helped me through so much and I am so lucky to have her in my life.

She's willing to relate herself to others and devote her time and energy to help them. We have many crazy memories together and I can only imagine more to come. I am so thankful for all the times she's been there for me and I know she always will. | Every year I have known Haley, we've grown closer together. She is someone I admire each day for her maturity and respect for others. She is a beautiful girl with a heart of gold. I love Haley for her way of making everyone feel special. Sid is always there for me when I need her and I am so thankful for all she has done for me. | Natalie definitely brings out the crazy side of me. We've had unforgettable times and she's been an amazing friend to me. I am so happy for having Nat in my life.
Brad | Marcus | What to say about Brad? Brad and I have a tendency to bicker, but I know deep down he loves me. As much as he acts like I'm bothering him, he appreciates my sense of humor and sometimes even laughs. He's a good guy with amazing talent. I'm never surprised when I hear Brad has won another award or more schools want him. He works hard at his athletics and it pays off. Although he'll never be as athletic as me, he tries hard. I know he's gonna miss me next year and chances are I'll miss him too. | I never thought I'd write a chap book page on Marcus, but since my senior year he's become one of my best guy friends. He's a funny guy who's always entertaining the group. He loves to pick on me, but I usually don't mind. I'm pretty bummed I didn't see him much through high school, but I'm sure we'll spend plenty of time together before we move away.
ADAM | LUKE | I still haven't figured out if Adam likes me or not. He's a sarcastic guy, but can always make me laugh. He is friends with everyone even though he is sassy. I remember when I first met him in 7th grade and all the girls had huge crushes on him and I'm pretty sure it's still true. | Luke loves to joke and I'm his favorite target. He's a pretty funny guy, I must admit, even though I don't enjoy all of his jokes. I'm really happy to have Luke as a friend and I know he will be someone I won't ever forget.
Max | Matt | Spencer Lane is one of the most loved people I know. He has more friends than anyone else I know. Max has been a great friend to me since fifth grade. He's been my crush, my enemy and my best friend. He's a great person and I know he will be successful because of his determination. I'll miss him a lot, but I know he's someone who I'll stay close to. | It's safe to say I'm not alone when I say I love Matt Joch. He's the man. Because of his funny sense of humor and bashful personality, he was voted our prom king. I spent plenty of time with Matt on our trip to St. Louis and again in San Antonio. We've created plenty of memories together. I'm really going to miss him, especially at CCD.
Grayson | Caleb | C-Ton is quite the character. He has a witty sense of humor, but has a soft side too (sometimes). He's constantly making people laugh which is why he was voted our class clown. I'm so happy to have Caleb as a friend, he's always there for some comic relief and to make my day a little happier. | Grayson is someone who takes others for who they are. I have yet to hear him judge others. He's always wearing a smile. As much as he is a flirt, he's a great friend too. He's someone I can turn to for the truth. He's one of the funniest people I know and always keeps me laughing. I know I'll miss him a lot as we move past high school.
Justin | Jim | Justin and I have been close friends since about sixth grade. We've had our ups and downs through our friendship, but I notice myself turning to him when I need a good friend. He's been a great friend to me especially through high school and I couldn't have imagined going to my prom with anyone else. We had the best time. I know Justin will always be there for me. | Jim and I have a love hate relationship. We love to hate. As much as we argue, Jim is a great guy. He has been dating Emily for three years and treats her as she deserves, the best. He has respect for others and is an extremely hard worker. He strives to do his best daily and has proven it, especially in his athletics. I'm going to miss the kid as we move our separate ways, but I know if I really needed him, he'd be there.
Shellady | Eli | Elijah is quite the trooper. Although his life hasn't gone as planned, he always keeps his head high. He has always been a true friend to me and helped me through my rough times. I am so happy for all he's done for me. | I met Shellady in third grade and we did not get along. Since then, we've both come a long way. Shellady is a confident girl with a fun, carefree attitude. She is a stunning dancer with a passion for it. She is a great friend.
Grandma & Grandpa Budiac | My Grandma and Grandpa Budiac are the most kindhearted, loving people I know. They have both lived their lives first for God, and then for others. They are always available for help and guidance to anyone in need. They, of course, are the typical spoiling grandparents, but they do so much more than just that. They have grown up working hard and have passed along those traits to their children. I love to spend time with them cuddled up in their cozy home. They are the greatest grandparents I could ask for and I wouldn't change a thing about them.
Andersons | The Anderson's are one of the most kind hearted families I know. All of them are friendly and sweet to everyone they encounter. My Aunt Cindy is my mom's oldest sister and is married to my Uncle Mike. In their family they have three children. Charity is the oldest with a husband, Jeremy and a beautiful daughter, Autumn. They are expecting another child and I am so happy for them. Adam, the middle child has a hilarious sense of humor. He can make anyone smile, especially his beautiful girlfriend, Lisa. Ryan is the baby of the family and is a hard working and knowledgeable man. He can fix just about anything and does it with a smile on his face.
Stockingers | I could easily write a book about the Stockinger family. They are all constantly making the group laugh. My Aunt Linda, my Auntie Hoe, is one of the most caring women I know. She loves to help others which is why she works at a nursing home helping the elderly. She loves to redecorate her antique filled home that we secretly rearrange. She is a fantastic aunt to me and I miss her a ton when I can't be around her. She has three sons, a beautiful daughter and a crazy husband. My Uncle Jim goes by many names, Father, Rabbi, Pastor, Bishop.. the list goes on. He loves to share his words of wisdom, though they might not always be wise. He's a hard worker with a great sense of humor. The boys of the family have all learned from their father, but have their mothers heart.
Budiacs | My Uncle John has been a fantastic uncle to me my whole life. He's always wearing a smile and helping his family and friends. His wife, my Aunt Nicki, fits perfectly in our family. She's a great aunt and friend to me. Allie and John are my cousins closest in age to me and we take advantage of the time we can spend together. We're always making new memories and reminiscing the old ones. The Budiacs are a great family and a blessing in my life.
Johnny | My mom has been seeing Johnny for ten years and finally got engaged last year. He has become a huge part of my life. He's always looking out for my mom, my sisters and I. I feel so lucky to have Johnny in my life.
 Jon | Cody | Best brothers-in-law ever!
Grandma & Grandpa Martin | My Grandma and Grandpa Martin are wonderful people. My Grandma passed away when I was in third grade, but I can remember her cheerful, whole hearted personality vividly. My Grandma and Grandpa had a marriage unlike I've ever seen before. They loved each other so much and showed it every day. My Grandpa is a faith filled man and serves God each day. I am so thankful for such amazing grandparents.
Uncle Jim | I was never able to meet my Uncle Jim because he passed away before I was born. From the many stories I have heard, my Uncle Jim was an amazing man. I am so excited to someday meet him.
Martins | My Uncle Jack has been a great brother to my dad. He is married to my Aunt Cathy and has one son, Jason. All three of them are very motivated people. The never fail to do their best. They are inspiring people with hearts of gold and I love spending time with them.
Uncle Mike | My Uncle Mike has always been a funny man. He can make anyone laugh and brighten up their day. He lives in Georgia so I'm not able to see him too often. I miss him a lot and hope to see him soon.
Voigts | My Aunt Mary and Uncle Harry live in Kansas City so our time together is rare. When I am able to see the Voigts I like to take advantage of the time with them. They are a caring and sweet family that I am fortunate to have in my life.
Aunt Jeanne | My Aunt Jeanne has always been an amazing woman. She lives in Georgia so I am not able to see her too often, but when I do it's been some of the best times in my life. She's constantly supporting me and has an optimistic outlook. She's proud of me no matter what and is always there to listen. I am so fortunate to be blessed with such an amazing woman in my life.
Mareschs | My Aunt Joni and I always have a good time. We have many inside jokes between her, Macy and I. Her husband Matt is truly a great man. He works hard for his family. They are a great family and I appreciate all they have done for me.
Kay & Zach | I have known Kay since Macy was in kindergarten and she later became my teacher too. She has remained in my life ever since. Both Kay and Zach are great people and have helped create many life long memories.
Nelsons | The Nelson family is one of a kind. They have an odd way of showing love to each other, but they're all willing to help anyone. Together they make an amazing, hardworking family. They have all been there for me in the past year and I am so thankful for that. They've become a second family to me and there's not any other family I'd rather have.
Beau | Antigo | Beau is not only my best friend's boyfriend, but my son too. He became my son as an inside joke when Marisa and him started talking. They have now been dating over a year and a half and I am so happy for them. They're perfect. Beau is an overall great guy. He even laughs at my stupid jokes! I am so lucky to have Beau as a friend, he's always there for me! | Marisa and I made our first trip to Antigo on a spur of the moment decision. We had promised never to actually go there because of how immature we were in many of the phone calls made to many people from Antigo. We quickly realized how amazing and fun Antigo people were, one being Kyle Mattek. I have made friends who mean so much to me. Britta, Anna and Rylee are some of the most fun girls I know. They have become great friends to me. Brock is a crazy guy, but I absolutely love his personality. I am so fortunate to have all the friends from Antigo that I do. It's a great place, with even better people!
Sunny Day | I began working at Sunny Day July 20, 2008. I was introduced to to the job by Macy who was already employed. I had come with her after school a few times and immediately fell in love with the kids. Since I began working at Sunny Day, it has become my life. With Waupaca being a small town, I am used to encountering the kids outside of work. My coworkers are awesome and I have become very close with all of them. I have an amazing boss who loves me very much! I believe I have helped many in my time at Sunny Day, but the truth is the kids have helped me. They love life for life and truly bring out my inner child.
State Tournaments | Every March I look forward to one thing, boys basketball state tournaments. I have gone the past 5 years with my dad and his family and the past 3 Marisa has joined. The past couple years we decided to actually watch the games, but they're never more fun than watching the people. We've created unforgettable memories at the Kohl Center and the tradition is something I will always cherish.
Dance Team | I decided to participate on the Waupaca dance team my freshman year. Although I decided not to stay on it, it is still a part of my life. I am the manager on the team and I love it. I am able to travel with the team to their competitions and I am honored to be a part of such a fabulous team. The dance team isn't just a team, it's a family. They work together to be the best, which they are. They have an outstanding coach, Amy, who is willing to do anything for her team. I love spending time with the girls and supporting the best dance team ever.
NITRA | Starting my senior year I made the decision to be the school mascot. Since we are the Waupaca comets our costume is an astronaut. It's an awesome suit with an even cooler helmet. Being the mascot has created many memories for me; I was even able to fight the Ripon tiger. I have loved the experience of beginning the mascot tradition at Waupaca High School and I hope it will carry out for many years.
Frank | Danny | Mike | On my trip to Chicago I met three of the most amazing men. Frank Bertsch, Danny Aielli and Michael Cunningham are all young, talented musicians. They have made two trips to Waupaca since our trip to Chicago which have created unforgettable memories. Although they live in Cincinnati, they are some of my best friends. They're people I turn to for advice and guidance and are there to brighten up my day. All three of them have different personalities, but together they make the perfect team. I love each and every one of them and am so happy fate brought them into my life.
Chicago | The summer following my freshman year I went on my first mission trip. I went to Chicago for a week with 20 youth from my church. We stayed in an old, run down church on the tile floors of classrooms. During my week in Chicago I served at an elderly abuse center. The majority of my work was washing windows for the building, but I was able to work with the elderly too. We helped them with their daily exercises, games and meals. My relationship with them became much stronger than I could have imagined. I saw how much they appreciated our work and it made it difficult to leave. The experience of Young Neighbors in Action is something I will never forget.
St. Louis | Following my sophomore year I ventured to St. Louis, Missouri with my church. We were shocked to see that all the churches were from Wisconsin. We immediately made new friends and started to discover what we were doing that week. We worked hard at The Father Tolton Center, a child day camp. We were able to play games with the kids and by the time we were leaving the entire group was in tears. The kids came from underprivileged homes and appreciated the opportunities offered to them. Working at the day camp inspired me to pursue my dream of being a teacher. I realized how much I am able to help children who need it.
S a n A n t o n i o | Last year I was able to to travel to San Antonio with a few other youth from Saint Mary Magdalene. We made our way down to Texas with two awesome chaperones, one being my mom. We were able to see the city the first day and it was quite a culture shock to many of us. We began our week of service on Sunday when we arrived at the college campus we were staying at. We wandered around, making friends until the meeting began. We found out we were going to work at a church, San Martin de Porres. We worked at a children's bible camp in the morning and played BINGO with the elderly in the afternoon. We not only became close to the people we served, but also the other volunteers. I miss all the people I met in San Antonio, but I hope to someday reunite with them.
NCYC | Haley and I, while both in arguments with our moms, were thrilled for our trip. We didn't realize it then, but it was a trip that was going to change us. We left Waupaca at 7 p.m. and drove down to Appleton with our mom's where we had a simple mass before leaving for Kansas City. We were the only two students going from St. Mary Magdalene to attend the National Catholic Youth Conference. Since our chaperone, Betty Manion, was already in Kansas City we were able to do what we wanted and hopped aboard the coach bus and pulled blankets over our heads for the ten hour bus ride. When we arrived in Kansas City we toured the city for a bit, but I couldn't wait to get to the conference. There were so many students going that on our first night we had to go to a hall with about 2,000 youth from around the nation. The next few days were spent in an arena with 20,000 people. I thought it was going to be great having four days to wander around making new friends, but after the first 10 minutes, I knew it was going to be so much better than that. I realized 22,000 high school students had come for one thing, God. My days were filled worshiping with strangers that seemed like siblings. It was a trip I needed to feel complete in my faith and to bring me even closer to my love, God.
Mr. Phair | Phair dog is the man. He's a fantastic teacher with a passion for it. He inspires his students to succeed and work to their ability. I enjoy his class and his style of teaching. He's already taught me so much, not only about English and writing, but life itself.
