The Ocean: The ocean is 70% of the Earths surface, and is 97%of the ocean. The ocean is made up of salt water. Also the ocean is the biggest body of water. The 5 main oceans are:Pacific,Atlantic,Arctic,Indian, and the Antarctic ocean.

In the ocean the water cycle is the main reason that the salt is in the ocean. When the water cycle occurs the water evaporates and the salt falls back down into the ocean. The ocean also has many sea creatures.

Waves Waves travel by the the energy of wind, and also by the force of humans. The biggest wave is called a tsunami. As the waves move towards the shore, water particles move up,down, and around in circles.

Harder and longer the wind blows larger the wave. The pulse of energy keeps the water flowing. As a wave rises it falls in the same place.

Waves are strong and soft, but they also cause great damage(As shown in the picture below). The largest tsunami happened in 1971,in Ishigaki island in Japan. Also, the wave crest is the highest point of the wave.

Currents: Ocean water is always in moving in "rivers"=currents.Currents are are causes by prevailing winds.Trade winds are the most predictable moving towards the equator.

Rip currents are the most dangerous currents in the world. In the United States there were more than 100 drownings due to rip currents.

Density Currents flow in the deep water of the ocean below surface currents.Global winds blowing in opposite directions, along the with the earths rotation causes powerful currents. They are called Gyres.

Tides Tides are caused by gravitational force of the moon and sun .All kept in orbit by the gravitational force, between each other. Also spring tides only occur twice a month where the sun, moon, and sun a line in order.

Neap tides have an opposite depth at high and low tides, but it only occurs twice a month, during the first and third quarter phrases of the moon. the figure of bays and can build up the intensity of tides, also narrow and shallow water also tend to dispute incoming tides .

Tides are very dangerous and determined by the moon and sun. | Rip currents have drowned more than 100 people. | The ocean is 97% of Earth's water, and is the big body of water. | All of these ocean terms are things you should watch out of . | Waves are dangerous by there depth and strength. | Interesting facts
