FC: White Sox Road Trip 2010
We left for our trip on June 15. We were gone for 10 days and saw 5 games. "Pittsburgh here we come!"
Game 1 Sox vs Pirates SOX WIN! 6-4
We stayed at the Sheraton in Station Square. We could see Heinz Field from our room!
Game 2 SOX WIN! 7-2 Game 3 SOX WIN! 5-4 Sweep!
We took a ferry from right outside our hotel. It took us across the Three Rivers to PNC Park. | Beckham and Konerko signed our jerseys!
Our last night in Pittsburgh, we decided to go to the original Primanti Bros. When we finally found a cab, the driver told us in was his first night. We then drove around Pittsburgh for 45 minutes with the driver telling us "We will correct ourselves from here!" at every turn. We finally saw another cab, and fled to it. Luckily, we were already close to Primanti's. By 1a.m. we made it. And it was worth it. They were delicious sandwiches!
On to Washington D.C.! | After 3 days in Pittsburgh, we continued on to Washington D.C. We stopped to see Dakota and Hunter. We also visited my Uncle Herc and Aunt Mary. She gave me 4 of her very old shamrock plants that would finish the trip with us. | We drove through mountains and saw a bunch of other cars with IL plates and White Sox stickers. It should have taken about four hours to get there, but it ended up taking almost eight because of the terrible traffic.
When we finally got to D.C. we dropped our bags off at the hotel and jumped on the Metro to get to the game. Our seats were right on the field and we got to see Steven Strasburg pitch. President Obama was there too! | Sox WIN! 2-1 in 11 innings!
On our first day in Washington D.C., we did some sightseeing. The first place we went to was Ford's Theater. We also saw St. Patrick's Church on the way there.
 Madame Taussaude's House of Wax
After having our fun at the Wax Museum, we walked over to the White House.
Since September 11th, Pennsylvania Avenue is open only to foot traffic and is heavily secured and patrolled.
 WWII Memorial
We walked over to the Lincoln Memorial. It was so hot!
 SOX WIN! 6-3 SWEEP!
On Sunday, our last game, we were some of the first fans in the stadium. After waiting for 2 hours in the blistering sun, I finally was able to get Ozzie to autograph the photo of us. Not long after the first inning, I ended up in first aid and ended up being taken to the hospital because of heat stroke!
 The Smithsonian
 The Washington Memorial
On our last night in D.C. we stayed at the Aloft in the National Harbor. We had an awesome dinner at Ketchup which is owned by Aston Kutcher and Wilmer Valderrama.
