Just before Christmas Aunt Shannon and I took Nicolas and Mathew to the "Pancake Breakfast" at the Station Mall. It was fun, we ate as many pancakes as we possibly could and I tried to keep Mathew from getting syrup all over himself. It was a nice little outing though. They had tables set up and the kids could sit and make little Christmas tree ornaments. There were snowflake cut outs and the kids would glue little stars or gems to them. I remember thinking "hey this is something Mathew and I can do at home" but when I bought all the stuff and tried later on well lets just say it wasn't happening. | I think it was just because Nick was there that he had so much fun. After all the crafts were done and everyone was covered in glue we took them over to where "Santa Clause" was set up and Nick went and sat on his lap. Mathew was too shy though we tried to coax him but he just had no interest in doing it. Its too bad because I really wanted to get a picture of him on his lap it would have been so cute. There were a ton of people that went too. We didn't even go until it was almost over and the place was still just crowded. We will have to take the kids next year too and maybe then I will get my "Santa Clause" picture.

Most likely the reason we all go so haywire at Christmas time with endless buying of gifts is that we don't quite know how to put our love into words

We made sure to get at least one good picture of the ostomy bag before Logan's reversal surgery. We didn'Â’t really have any pictures of it because we always had to make sure it was covered, if it wasn'Â’t Logan would pull it off. It didn'Â’t happen many times but enough that we knew better than to leave him shirtless even for a second. It was so hard to change too. The older he got the more he would fight us as we did it. We basically needed 3 people to change it. One to hold his arms, one to hold his legs and one to actually change the bag but we only ever had 2 and sometimes only 1...Me, those times were always fun. By 5 months the bag was falling off constantly too because he was moving around so much. There were times when it would come off 3 times in a day. The worse though was when we had to change it at 3, 4 in the morning. It would explode all over and we had to change everything the bag, his clothes, the bedding... yes good times were had. We had to get a couple pictures of Logan lying on his side like that too because it looked hilarious, like he was just hanging out...relaxing. Plus just like we figured he stopped lying like that after the reversal surgery. The bag was in his way when he was on his stomach so he lay on his side to keep off of it.

One thing for sure about being in London is its hard. Mom and I drove down with the kids and everyone was sick. We were all coughing and had runny noses and the kids were extra crabby. At first we weren'Â’t sure if they were going to do the surgery because he was sick but he was well enough come the morning of the surgery so it was a go. The hardest part of the trip though was not the surgery itself, it was what came afterward. Logan pooped so often that his diaper rash turned into 3rd degree burns. Everytime we changed his diaper his bum would bleed and he would just scream, it was rough for everyone most of all Logan. It wouldn'Â’t have been so hard for us though if we wouldn'Â’t have had to be down there for so long. We were there for a total of 27 days. It seemed to go on forever. We kept trying this cream or that cream or these 2 together nothing was working. | Before the Surgery

It wasnÂ’'t until after about 2 weeks of trying that we realized the only way we were going to get his diaper rash under control was to get him home and get him eating properly. It was difficult with Mathew there too but I had to bring him, I couldn't leave him at home for a month. We were all stuck in a little hotel room with no real fridge, stove or laundry. ItÂ’s the little convinces of home that you miss. Like being able to have a smoke when you need one or putting on Mathew's favorite show. The absolute worst part of the whole trip though was the end. Logan got a UTI and went into septic shock. Then a couple of days later they released us with no antibiotics and then on the drive home he went into septic shock again. We basically drove from the London Hospital to the Sault Hospital. It was a rough month and this is only a basic summary of what went on if I went into details I would have pages upon pages, and hours of writing. | After the Surgery

Date: June 8th, 2011 Time: 11:32 am Weight: 10 pounds 12 ounces Height: 21 inches | Cameron Markus Lannigan

Cameron came not a moment to soon because I don't think I could handle being pregnant much longer. I kept drinking raspberry leaf tea to try to put myself in labor but it wasn't working. So one night Brendan made a really strong cup like 10 cups in one and I drank it at about 10:00pm, well that morning at 4:30am I went into labor and fast. As soon as the contractions started they were like half an hour apart and within an hour they were every 5 minutes. We got to the hospital at about 7:30 and I was already 9 cm dilated. It was intense. As soon as I got there they put me in the delivery room they figured the baby was coming right away but of course just my luck I went on for another 4 hours. But finally our big baby came and he was big all the nurses were like, hes huge!! I knew he was going to be big but not that big. We didn't know what to call him for the first couple hours of his life. The names we had picked out were Liam and Galen but they didn't seem right. So we basically looked at him and said to ourselves what names would suit him and Cameron Markus is what we came up with...I think we did well. Aunt Shannon came and was a coach for me and boy am I glad, she was a huge help. I mean I needed Brendan he was my rock I just remember I kept looking at him, I'm not sure why but I think I just needed to see him. But Shannon was there telling me what I needed to do like OK Breathe...Push...slow your breathing down... and I needed someone doing that because it may not seem like much but believe it or not I was forgetting what to do.

Mathew loved the rides at rotary he wanted to just keep going on them one after another, especially the fun house. He went in like 5 or 6 times. He wouldn't come out he kept running away from the lady in charge of the ride. It was funny and a little embarrassing. he had a blast in the splash area of course anything to do with water. in all fairness though it was pretty cool. he played in the inflatables too but i think the rides were the biggest hit. one thing that was so cute though Mathew went on a ride with a little girl and when they got off they just went hand in hand to the next ride, he didn't look for us or anything. we had a good laugh saying that he wasn't going to have any problems with the girls. | Just for laughs later on I am going to mention that Brendan was a complete grump the whole time we were there. I don't even know why, some little thing that was resolved as soon as we left. So yea GRUMP!!! Thats what you get!

Grandparents are a little bit parents, a little bit teachers, and a little bit best friends

Logan's First Time at the Park

We all had a good time at Bellvue Park this day. The kids played in the playground for a little while but Mathew wasn't to interested in playing. He was the one that asked if we could just go for a walk on the paths. This made it easier for us anyways because its hard having Logan walking all over the playground equipment someone has to be pretty much hovering over him to make sure he doesn't fall off something. So we put Logan in the stroller, got some ice cream and went and fed the ducks. Well more like the geese, they were swarming us Mathew kept trying to chase them off but he was a little nervous of them too. We went for a long walk too. Probably the longest one Mathew's ever been on. We walked for almost 2 hours. It was fun, we went all over the place, all around the water and down the trails at the dog run area. Mathew had a blast and equally nice Logan had a good long nap in the stroller.

 Camping at J.W. Wells

We hardly ever stopped on this trip. We went from eating breakfast, to going on a walk to coming back having a shower, eating some lunch then off to the beach. Plus running after the kids the whole time as well and this all happened before noon. It was fun though. The kids loved it. Mathew tore around like a madman especially when Tye was around they had so much fun together. I hardly knew where he was half the time he just wanted to be outside. Same with Logan I think he was just thrilled with the fact that he could tear around in a huge yard pretty much all day. He was a little more difficult because we had to keep a close eye on him. I'm really glad we went Mathew just had such a good time and myself as well I loved seeing everyone and visiting for a few days. I was really excited that Brendan, Mom and Shannon ended coming down for a couple nights too. It was nice, especially since it was Brendan and Mom's first time there.

 Relaxin on the Beach

 Happy Birthday Lynn..Jackie..Dustin..Kurt.. and Me

Our big group birthday party was the finale for our camping trip. On the last day we all got together at the cabin opened gifts and pigged out on cake and goodies. Right after the "party" we were going to take the yearly group picture. Well everyone got together and then we realized that Mathew and Tye were missing. Well we searched all over for them inside and outside for like 10 minutes. When we found them they were hiding in the bathtub behind the shower curtain! The funniest thing though is when they got out of the tub the bottom was black with footprints.

 "A Mother's love never ages."

"A Grandmother is a Mother with a second chance"

Going to the Apple Dump | SittingDown for a Snack | Mathew's favorite thing is to pick up all the apples put them in his wagon and bring them over to the big pile in the backyard better know as the apple dump. I think the reason he likes doing it so much is because he likes collecting and piling things so he gets to do both when he picks the apples. He's so cute in this picture. | Finally by the end of summer Logan was big enough to sit at the kids picnic table and eat lunch. So cute. He sure loved being at grandma's this summer he didn't go in the pool at all but just being able to meander around outside was enough for him. He would just walk around the yard just like Mathew did at that age I guess its a kid thing.

 Just Hanging Out

I don't think Mathew quite knew what was going on his first day of school. I drove him instead of putting him on the bus so he wouldn't be scared. I think he likes school though, of course I don't know for sure because he never wants to tell me anything about it. The only thing he says when I ask him if he had a good day at school is " yea, they had toys there today" or " no, they didn't have any toys today". I don't know what toys he's talking about and if they're there or not but that is the determining factor on how his day is. We have a routine before he gets on bus now... 2 hugs, 2 kisses and 2 squeezes. It limits him because he would probably stand there hugging and kissing for like 10 minutes no word of a lie. A few times he would start up the stairs and then turn around to come back for more hugs and kisses but the bus driver would shut the door on him...poor kid :).

 wHAT A RASCAL!

A day to remember; Logan sat still long enough for me to get a picture with him!!!
