BC: Disney June 2011
FC: Our Magical Vacation
We left at midnight on Friday and drove through the night until we made it to Jamie's parents in Florida. It was a long 16 hour drive with a few stops along the way. The girls did great riding for so long in the van. One more hour and we made it to the magical world of Disney.
We had just made it into the Magic Kingdom when we had our first opportunity to see some of the princesses. Julianna was the first of our princesses to meet Sleeping Beauty. She even tried to curtsy like a princess.
Ella was the next princess to meet Sleeping Beauty. She wanted her autograph so she had her sign a map of Disney World. | Ashlyn was a little hesitant but was soon ready to give Sleeping Beauty a big hug. She liked being like the big girls and meeting the princesses too.
Belle was the next princess that the girls met. She received big hugs from each girl and was also asked for an autograph. Ashlyn had no trouble sitting in Belle's lap for her picture.
Cinderella was the final princess that the girls were able to meet. They saw three princesses in the first thirty minutes of being at Disney World. Even if they hadn't been able to do anything else all day, I think they would have been happy!
The girls were having a great time talking to Cinderella and getting her autograph. She was a good listener to all of the things they wanted to share with her.
The whole family was able to pose with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. It was great to finally have a picture with everyone in it. | The line for Mickey and Minnie was much longer than the princess line. We got a fast pass and came back a little later. We were able to avoid the large line this way.
Ashlyn was so excited to see Mickey Mouse. She bought a Mickey Mouse doll right away in the gift shop and carried it around all day. Julianna was able to add two more autographs to her autograph book. She was excited to get her picture with Mickey and Minnie so that she could add it to her autograph book later.
The day was really hot and we were tired. Ashlyn was tired enough to take a nap in her stroller for an hour. Julianna, Ella, and I went to Frontierland to watch the parade.
Thanks to the lady next to us, the girls were able to get up front and see the parade up close. She told the couple in front of us that they were blocking the kids view but they would still be able to see over the kids if they let them up front. I was a little further back but held the camera up high to try to get a few good pictures. | The girls loved being able to see the parade and actually get to shake hands with a few of the characters.
Big ears, big nose and a few big smiles for the day! | While we were waiting in line to ride Dumbo the Flying Elephant, we saw a short line for Pinocchio. Julianna and I ran over to get an autograph and picture with Pinocchio. Just as she was about to see him, the lady asked if we would mind if a girl could cut in front of us. She was there through Make-A-Wish. There was no way we would refuse that request.
The carousel is one of the girls favorite rides no matter where we go. It may have been a short ride but everyone enjoyed riding. Ashlyn rode a horse with Jamie and beside Julianna. Ella and I rode a few rows in front of them so that each girl could have the horse they wanted.
One of our longest lines was waiting for the tea cups. The girls wanted a pink tea cup of course and we were actually able to get one.
Julianna wanted to see how fast we could make our tea cup spin. You can see her look of determination. We all worked together to get the tea cup going fast. We were going so fast that Ashlyn got a little scared and cuddled up next to her mommy for the rest of the ride.
 It's A Small World!
We definitely found our favorite family ride. Ashlyn and Ella kept pointing things out for us to ooh and ahh over. Julianna was trying to figure out how everything worked. | The hippo, monkeys and shimmering waterfall were favorites of the girls. There was so much to see that we had to go on this ride twice.
We saw Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too! The girls had a great time riding through the Hundred Acre Woods and getting to see all of the characters that live there. Each car was a honey bucket. It was cute to see them play in Pooh's house after we finished the ride.
The girls enjoyed the many parades throughout the day and this one was no different. It may have been 11:00 at night but they were all captivated by the lights. Ashlyn still had her Mickey Mouse and loved watching the parade with him. I think she has found her new best friend in "Gickey Mouse'.
The day went by quickly but we had a lot of fun at Disney World. Frontierland, Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Main Street USA and Liberty Square were all great. There was so much to do and see all day long. We can't wait to go back again one day soon! | Until then . . . Ch'ao, Aloha, Sayonara, Adios and Good-bye!
