S: Our trip to Pacific Northwest July 2011
BC: "Family is what you make it. It is made strong not by number of heads, but by the rituals you help family members create, by the memories you share, by the commitment of time, caring, and love you show you to one another, and by the hopes for the future you have as individuals and as a unit." Happy 70th Grandma & Grandpa!!
FC: Summer in the Pacific Northwest with Thompson/Peterson Family July 2011
1: July 2011 brought the first full Thompson family vacation with spouses and children in quite some time. We ventured to Seattle and beyond, and what a trip it was! All in celebration of a milestone for Grandma and Grandpa: turning 70 years old! The Space Needle, Pikes Market, Museum of flight, Chinatown and Ann's college friend Sondra Chang and family; these were just a few of the fabulous sights and experiences we had in Seattle. Then on to glorious Olympic National park with Grandma and Grandpa as well as Deanna & Neal's family. Crescent Lake, Hurricane Ridge, Sol Duc Falls, the challenging Storm King hike, and Ethan and Evan's illness were some of the high and lowlights. Lastly, a rocking ferry ride onto Victoria, BC capped off the trip. The best part for the kids was ziplining, but parents loved Butchart gardens and Craigdarroch castle. The beautiful city capped off a great trip!
