BC: We had such amazing trip! I have the best grandparents a kid could ever have! I love them soo much and they mean the world to me! 1: Summer 2011 was a trip of a lifetime for the Carmichael and Wenger families. Fantastic parents and grandparents, Robert and Sharon Carmichael, treated their family to the breathtaking beauty and fantastic family reunions in the countries of Scotland and England. It was so special to get to meet all of Grandpas family and get to see the ones we have missed since their visits to California! Thanks so much! We love you! 2: Europe here we come. The family anxiously waits in the San Fransisco airport excited to depart to the country we have always wanted to visit.
3: We've arrived in London and Grandma is trying our her scooter!

5: Ashlyn and Trevor at the London Eye | Mom, Trevor, Ashlyn at the fountain of Buckingham palace | Our first stop.... LONDON! The Carmichaels and Wengers had a great time together in London whether it was riding the double decker bus, watching the changing of the guards, or the girls and Trevor running through the Tower of London! No matter what it was, we had a great time as a family!!!
7: The family had a fantastic time in Belper! Wells, Jimmy, Ross, Robert, and Grandpa made many memories between sheep shagging jokes , traveling to the Isle of Jura or just talking. The Girls equally had a great time visiting town and enjoying biscuits and clotted cream!! We are so thankful for them opening their doors and letting us enjoy their memorable family!!!! We love you guys!
8: The family spent a day on the pub tour visiting really old pubs or silly pubs such as the all famous Spanker. The family also spent the day at the Heage windmill and the boys enjoyed T-cutting the scratches out of the rental car!
9: The final days were quite bittersweet as the family got excited to see the relatives in Scotland but did not want to leave. | They enjoyed their last few days visiting Beanies "wee hoose" and taking a nice nature walk to the Spanker to attempt to eliminate Wells' Jura shipwreck (hangover:-)
10: York! | The Wenger family took a nice excursion to York on the way to Scotland and enjoyed the gorgeous small town and especially the street called Shambles due to the uneven houses leaning over the street!
11: York Minister was the sight to be seen in York, a church that took over 200 years to build was quite breathtaking! | A view of the river surrounding York on a gorgeous, authentic bridge
12: Grandpa treated the Wenger family to an amazing trip to the Edinburgh Castle where they made some great memories atop the beautiful "rock"! | EDINBURUGH!!!!
14: St. Andrews | It was a memorable time as Grandpa, Wells, Ashlyn and Trevor had the chance to play golf at the well known home of golf, St. Andrews links! Each person shot under 100! INCREDIBLE!
16: Thornhill is where it all began! Grandpa was born to amazing parents here in this small town outside of Dumfries. It is a town with so much history and past that a picture doesn't even express the 1000 words. This was where it all began and this was where the family got to visit the home of their "roots." | The school | Grandpa's locker room! | Where Grandpa was born! | The town roondaboot! | Mom's favorite person used to work here! | The Post Office! | Fusies Restaurant | THORNHILL
17: Without such amazing parents we would not be where we are today and Grandpa and Margaret share a moment remembering them and saying hello at the graveside where they both lay today!

19: FU | N | HO | ME | This is no walk its a F@$&%!# Expedition! Brothers Wattie and Grandpa spend some time together with the family exploring the castles nearby!
20: With an extra day off, Grandpa, Mom, Margaret, Margaret Biggers, and Kerrie all enjoyed visiting the beautiful Sweetheart Abby while Grandpa, Ross, dad, Trevor, and Ashlyn all enjoyed golfing with Grandpas nephews at the Thornhilll golf course!
21: The family had a great time in Scotland whether it was riding in the back of Jimmy's pickup truck, visiting a race in town, meeting up with old friends, going to the Observatory, or walking down Primrose street, we all made memories we will never forget!
22: The Family parties were ever present in Scotland as well! With so much to do in so little time, many nights were spent visiting with relatives!
23: Sweetheart Abby is a very old church in Scotland known for its beautiful architecture but no roof! The family visited together one day after Grandma and Mom visited with Kerrie earlier in the week!
24: The family had a rough 9 hour drive through the highlands of Scotland before they reached the Glenlivet distillery where we learned how Scotch Whiskeys are made! | .The Family enjoyed an amazing boat trip on the Loch Ness! With Margaret as Grandma's stand in. The nine of us shot through the waters of Loch Ness in hopes of seeing Nessie herself. We were all suited up in our waterproof jumpsuits but never really needed them thanks to a gorgeous day on the Lake!!!!

26: On the way home the family visited the mountains of Ben Nevis that Grandpa used to climb as a teenager and also the oldest pub around! This brought back many fond memories for Grandpa when he was our age and brought forward new memories for us!
27: The final night was a blast! The whole family enjoyed the night together for one last goodbye with WAY too much food and getting to visit Kerrie's horse, it was definitely a great night!
