FC: Properties of Addition and Multiplication | math is the greasiest | math is fun | By Eli Mitchell

Commutative Property of Addition | In a sum you can add the numbers in any order | It is the same as if there were numbers for example 7 + 8 is the same as 8 +7

CommutativeProperty of Multiplication | In a product you can multiply the numbers in any order. | For an example 8(-5) is the same as -5(8)

Associative Property of Multiplication | Changing the grouping of the numbers in a product does not change the product. | For example (3 * 10)*4 is the same as 3*(10*4)

Distributive property | The distributive property is on of the most simplest of the properties but u will use this in all the math u will ever do. | Here is an example 1(2+3a) u will have to times 1 * 2 then + 1 * 3a then add them together then it should equal 2+3a

Associative property of Addition | Changing the grouping of the numbers in a sum does not change the sum. | For example (9+6)+2 is the same as 9+(6+2)

Identity Property of Addition | The sum of a number and the additive identity 0 the number. | For example -6+0=-6

Identity Property of Multiplication | The product of a number and the multiplication identity 1 is the number. | For example 4*1=1
