Hello, I am Jeremy Finch, although most people call me Jem. This is my family, in the top left corner is me and my sister Scout. The bottom right is my father, we call him Atticus. "Atticus, our father said we were both right."
" We were playing' strip poker up yonder by the fish pond" Hi, I am Jem and this is the time that I "misplaced" my pants. How it happened was Dill, Scout, and I were trying to lure Boo Radley out of his house. When running away I got my pants stuck on the fence, they tore and came right off of me! Then I went back to get them and they were stitched and folded by Boo himself.
This is Dill, he is my friend and Scouts fiancé. He comes to stay with a relative each summer so that is the only time that we see him, he is and odd but nice kid. "The fact that I had a permanent fiancé was little compensation for his absence"
This is Mrs. Maudie, she is a great lady. She lets us play in her yard as much as we want as long as we don't mess with her flowers. She also bakes us cake. To the left is when her house burnt down. she was happy because she said she didn't have to keep up with it anymore. At the front door, we saw fire spewing from Miss Maudie’s diningroom windows. "As if to confirm what we saw, the town fire siren wailed up the scale to a treble pitch and remained there, screaming."
This is the first purchase African M.E church. This is (hence the name) the black church in Maycomb county. It is an old building, Scout and I went to this church. | "It was dim inside, with a damp coolness slowly dispelled by the gathering congregation. At each seat was a cheap cardboard fan bearing a garish Garden of | Gethsemane, courtesy Tyndal’s Hardware Co. (You-Name-It-We-Sell-It)."
One night Scout, Dill, and I snuck out of the house and followed Atticus out to town to find him in the middle of a mob! If it weren't for us three sneaking out those men would've hung Mr. Tom Robinson. “Don’t you remember me, Mr. Cunningham? I’m Jean Louise Finch. You brought us some hickory nuts one time, remember?”
The pictures to the left depict the things that went on during the Tom Robinson trial. Scout, Dill, and I saw the entire thing with our own eyes. as you can see there is the judge , the court room, Tom Robinson, and the poster which says all white jury. In Macomb county there is no chance of a black man getting the win with a all white jury. "She was white, and she tempted a negro."
Hey, Jem here. This is going to sound odd but i have a man in my county named Dolphus Raymond . He walks around holding a paper bag with "alcohol" in it. Every one despises him and says he is un-Christian. | Coke not alcohol During the trial dill and scout went outside and saw him, He told them that he had been drinking coca cola this whole time, Dill even had a swig. He said the reason he did it was because the whites wanna hate him and so he gave them a reason to hate him. This just shows how Bad racism is in Macomb county. "folks find things easyer to understand if you give them a reason for it, they see im drinkning out of a bag, and they think, oh well he's on the wiskey thats why he does the way he does"
This represents the morning after we lost the case to the Ewells. This was from the black community. They were so thankful that Atticus Stood up for Tom Robinson, they brought too much food to consume in a whole year! “You better step out here and see what’s in the kitchen, Mr. Finch.”
So after the trial, as if losing the trial hadn't been enough, Mr. Ewell approached Atticus spat in his face and threatened to kill him. Know the stickers that are on the top of the page are the after affects of the trial. I feel that even afterwards people were pointing fingers. “I wish Bob Ewell wouldn't chew tobacco,”
Even whit the fact that atticus was sure that they would appeal Tom Robinson's case tom decided to well run. Its sad because he was so desperate that he ran and didn't stop, he was shot by one of the guards. I didn't figure out until Atticus and Cal went to tell his wife. “They shot him,”
I owe my life to Mr. Aurthur "boo" Radley, If not for him me and scout would be dead. Bob Ewell attacked us both with a knife. Boo came out and attacked Bob and saved me and scout. “Well, it’d be sort of like shootin‘ a mockingbird, wouldn’t it?”
