2: Mesopotamia is the land between two rivers, Tigris and Euphrates.There are very limited natural resources located in Mesopotamia. The use of irrigation was very popular. The religions controlled the government, if a priest hears "something" it is from the "gods". Mesopotamia was mostly polytheistic, believing in more than one god. City states were always at war with each other. Wheels and sails made transportation a lot easier. Sumeria was thought of and used very often in Mesopotamia. Sumeria is the sixty second unit. Slavery was used back in this time, it was very popular. The written language was cuneiform.

4: Egypt is home to the Nile river. The Nile river is there main source of survival. When the Nile river floods it provides fertile land. It is really hot and dry in Egypt still today. Also surrounded by nothing but desert. Their rivers flow south to north, instead of north to south. Pharaohs ruled as their king, he was seen as a god. They also were polytheistic, sun god is one of the most important to them. Egypt was dived into upper and lower kingdoms until united in 3,000 B.C. They used hieroglyphics as their way of righting. Mummification started in Egypt, which was the process of preserving the body for the "afterlife". Egyptians came up with a system of geometry to create pyramids were they would bury there pharaohs.

6: The Indus Valley is located between the Indus and Ganges river. Monsoons often take place there. Monsoons are seasonal winds that bring rain or dry air. The Himalayas are located to the north of the Indus valley. The Indus valley was considered a subcontinent. They planned their cities on a grid system, examples are like blocks. Indus valley had a strong central government. | The major buildings were normally located in the middle of the cities. The Indus valley were the first people to invent the plumbing and sewage system. The beginning of the Hindu culture originated in the Indus valley. The rivers would flood and provide very fertile soil.

8: China saw their culture as the center of their civilized world. Mandate of heaven, meaning the ruler had device approval no questions asked. Feudalism was used a lot in China. Ancestors were worshiped, they were known to bring blessings upon the family. Everything revolved around the family in China. In China science and technology included flood control and irrigation. Bronze and iron were used a lot including silk, roads and canals.

9: China is located between yellow (Hang He) and Yangtze river. When the rivers flood they leave behind loess. Himalayas mountains are located to the south and Gobi desert to the north.
