2: The Indus River Valley The Indus river valley is located between the Indus and Ganges river. The Indus river valley is a subcontinent, which are large landmasses that form a distinct part of a continent.The Indus river valley also had a planned city grid system and major buildings in the middle called a citadel. The Indus people stated using the religion of Hinduism which was polytheistic. The Indus people also had their own written language. In Indus the people had on of the first plumbing and sewage systems. The Indus river valley is also south of the Himalayas. When the rivers flood in Indus it leaves behind silt or fertile soil. The Indus river valley also has monsoons that bring rain or dry air. The Indus river valley also has a strong central government.

4: CHINA China is located between the yellow(Huang He) and Yangtze rivers. When china's river floods it leaves behind loss. Loss is silt that is covered in a yellow dust which gives the Huang he river the nickname the yellow river. The Himalayas are to the the south of China and the Gobi desert is to the north.The Chinese saw their culture as center of their civilization. The Chinese believed in the mandate of heaven in which the ruler had the divine rite to rule.The Chinese also had social classes. For example the kings gave nobles land, the nobles gave military services to the king. The Chinese further more had flood control and irrigation systems. Another thing China had was their own written language. China also had its own wood buildings, roads and canals.

6: Mesopotamia Mesopotamia is located between the 2 rivers the Tigris and Euphrates(in the fertile Crescent).Mesopotamia has only limited natural resources. Mesopotamians also used irrigation for their crops. When the rivers flood they leave behind silt. The Mesopotamian government is controlled by their religion, when their priest hear from the gods.The Mesopotamians were polytheistic which meant they believed in many gods. Mesopotamia used slavery to do their work and their city states were always at war.The Mesopotamians believe in Hammurabi's code (an eye for an eye) The Mesopotamians used the wheel and sail to make transportation easier. The Mesopotamians had their own written language called cuneiform.

8: Egypt The Nile river provided land when the rivers overflowed. Egypt had a hot dry climate with desert surrounding it. The Nile river flows from the south to the north. Pharaohs ruled as Kings and were seen as gods. Egyptians were polytheistic and believed their sun god is one of the most important. the Egyptians used slavery and had upper and lower kingdoms. The Egyptians built pyramids and tombs for their pharaohs. Hieroglyphics were their form of writing.The Egyptians used papyrus to make paper. Egyptians used the art of mummification to preserve the bodies of their past pharaohs.
