FC: myself at Ben and Jerrys eating my ice cream | Life is so sweet On the Cape trip 2012
We kick the trip off with a juggling contest even though we are still at Wayland Middle School and its not even 8:00 and I am bouncing off the walls. I had to get my energy out somehow so I played soccer. In this trip I had a great time, hard falls and watched some hard falls also. Inside this online scrapbook I will attempt to show you my version of this three day journey. | kids at Wayland in the classic soccer picture.
The first appearance of THE MONKEY. This monkey appears in many parts of this trip.
The monkey On the AMAZING Ritchie bus.
life is great when your flying high but it stinks when you crash back down | myself jumping off the dunes with a painful landing.
A Super moment I steel myself for my moment as the Man of Steel I dig in I feel the wind whip across my face I feel the sand as it burns my feet but in this moment I am The Man of Steel The man who feels no pain there is no kryptonite in sight I feel my burdens simply floating of as I begin my takeoff I feel as free as a bird as powerful as a jet engine and I begin to soar. As I hover in midair my world slows. I feel as if I control gravity but I know that just like the majestic bird and the powerful jet engine I must come back to earth but very much unlike the majestic bird and the powerful jet I am not graceful I did not plan I was free. As I see the ground beneath rapidly approaching I no longer feel super as I feel myself smash face first into the sand that once could bring me no pain now it becomes my true weakness. Along with gravity.
These pictures are of captain johns boat and dock. I was allowed to drive the boat TWICE. We also were taught about marine biology. We learned how to tame lobsters and how to not lose a finger to a big spider crab | The Monkey reappears ready to hit the seas. | Some minor camera troubles . Lucky I brought a digital camera.
A Boat ride As The smell of rotten fish fills my nostrils. I take a leap up to The Captains chair. The fog still surrounds the boat but just barely still here. The Captain tells me to grasp the wheel I instantly have a billion questions about this gizomo and that doohickey. As I make my first turn he compliments me on my drift. I of course have no idea what that means I take the compliment in stride. Suddenly he tells me to let go and stop turning and just like that my adventure is over. | the insane fog covering a small light house.
These are pictures of the title flats at cape cod sea camps | The affects of the grass stopping erosion on the fence. At the tital flats
A HUGE SPIDER CRAB. This Spider Crab did not take any fingers. | A artistic picture of a potential danger to the environment.
a pantoum for the tidal flats I search I sneak I see a massive crab with a giant tail to boot I sneak I grab at a massive crab with a giant tail to boot but it still has some fight in it. I grab at the feisty devil but it still has some fight in it but I will still win this fight.
 The fiesty Devil
A great golf swing at the driving range lots of fun to be had at the sand dunes and a huge gathering at Doane's rock and another picture of kids hanging out at the dunes.
Pictures of the beautifully unique ecosystem of white cedar swamp.
haiku for white cedar swamp bountiful trees they are so white in the swamp
As I reflect back on the cape cod trip in 7th grade I have one regret. It is that I did not take a picture on the way back from Cape Cod but the one thing I did do was sleep and I sure did need that sleep after my hard fall at the dunes and all of my other very intense endeavors. I thought this trip was worth the wait and I thought it was a great way to transition towards the end of the school year. THE END
