2: Section1: Introduction I am doing the section of the cold war and how it affected people’s lives also how it affects the world today. | The dates were from 1945 to 1991. The cold war was a name given by the USSR and the USA after World War II. They disliked each other because the U.S hated Communism and the USSR hated the Capitalism.
3: Section2: The Marshall Plan
4: The Marshall Plan was aid to Europe to rebuild from World War II so that they could help Europe become strong and avoid turning to communism. | The Truman Doctrine was followed in June 1947 by the European Recovery program. Started because Greece threatened by Communist expansion any country that needs help with war we will be there to back them up.
5: Section3: Alliance Systems
6: One was the Warsaw Pact- Was when the Soviet Union joined with Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland and Romania in a formal military style. NATO created (North Atlantic Treaty Organization)
7: Section4: Arms Race
8: The Arms race had the first ballistic missiles such as the atomic bomb, the hydrogen bomb, etc. The Soviet Union had set off its first atomic bomb in 1949. The rivalry was against India and Pakistan. | The space race launched sputnik into space in 1957. Sputnik was the world’s first Satellite and the U.S got angry because the Russians had beaten them to the Sputnik.
9: Section5: Korean War
10: The Korean war took place in 1950 The sides it involved was North and South Korea The outcome nobody won
11: Section6: Rivalry
12: I would have to say the Rivalry between the Indiana Pacers and the Chicago Bulls. How it is an example of the cold war because they both wanted to win and they both want to go the playoffs. So they are going to practice and train hard to get better.
