A Wonderful Week August 2010 | A Wonderful Week in Colorado August 2010
It was great to find a large house with lots of bedrooms and bathrooms and large animals on the walls. | We arrived in sunny Colorado and all drove up to the beautiful house in the mountains of Breckenridge.
Lots of time was spent around the kitchen table. It was cute to see the little ones all lined up in their high chairs.
Dan and Lydia set up a tent in the back yard...he was the only one to actually spend a cold night in it.
 Lydia - Age 2 | Colden - Age 1 1/2
On one of the first hikes Dad and Dan explored Continental Falls.
Pretty soon the kids needed in on the exploring so Renee, Mom and Christina took Joshua, Matthew, Lydia, Henry, Colden and Blakely out on a hike. Close to the house there was the perfect trailhead for the little ones.
Matthew managed to loose a sandal in a mountain creek and we had to run down stream to retrieve it. We also came across what the boys were sure was a "bear" print so we were on the lookout.
One beautiful morning we loaded up some kids and went out to explore. We ended up close to the Continental Divide and drove up a single lane path into the mountains and discovered beautiful lakes, a reservoir, and remnants of old mines high up in the cliffs of the mountains. | It was so windy when we got there that Christina stayed in the car with the little ones and Brett and Joshua went out to explore the lower waterfalls . Dan, Stephanie and Jon went up to the reservoir.
Jon and Stephanie braved the wind up at the top
While some of us were up in the mountains Jeremy and Amy took Colden and Blakely down into the town.
One of Moms goals for the week was to have an updated family picture taken...well, there were a lot of us but we sure did miss Brent and Cate ...wonder what the next picture will look like?
 Brett & Christina Joshua - 6 Matthew - 4 Brenna - 1
 Jeremy & Amy Colden - 1 1/2 Blakely - 4 months
 Brian & Lauren Emily - 8 Ryan - 1
 Dan & Renee Lydia - 2 Henry - 4 months
 Jon & Stephanie
Brent & Cate even though they were not with us we thought of them often
To finish out the morning of family pictures we came to the grandkids photo....poor little Brenna wanted nothing to do with this even to the point of covering her face in despair. After all was said and done, we have had some laughs from these pictures and Paca and Nana sure look like their hands were full!
After family pictures... | ...it was a good time to just goof off.
Christina with Brenna, Joshua, and Matthew up at the Kids Fishing Pond.
Dad, Jeremy, Dan and Jon take an afternoon off to go golfing.
Brett, Christina with Jon and Stephanie hiking up into the hills for a picnic.
We even got to celebrate a birthday Happy 1st Birthday Ryan!!
Like Father Like Daughter...What else is there to say
Amy, Renee and Jeremy set off to ride the "People Movers". We are sure they went up and down a few times for pure child entertainment!
 More riding of the Gondola's
All the Dads with the Kiddos up at the top of the mountain! Way to go guys...I think at least 2 are sleeping and the rest are all smiles so it looks like you are doing a great job!
You might wonder what was at the top of the hills. This is where we discovered........ THE SLIDES!!!!!!
Sometimes it was just fun | to hang around the house.
Colden was just the right height to reach the pool table. He played with the pool balls for hours.
Joshua, Matthew, Emily and Brenna enjoying some hot-tub time.
One morning all the girls went out to a beautiful ranch where we rode high into the hills.
Brian & Lauren with Brett & Christina took Emily, Ryan, Joshua and Matthew to the Country Boy Mine for an afternoon outing.
Early one morning Dad and Mom along with Brett, Christina and kids set off on a long hike up to Continental Falls. It was a very cool crisp morning when we began but as we climbed the sun shone bright and we had the most wonderful views of mountain lakes, deserted mining equipment, an old village with log cabins and a great big blue sky.
We found a cabin that has been preserved by hikers through the years...it contains stacks and stacks of journals that those passing by have written in...we added to them too..
