1: Cyber-bullying: is the use of information technology to harm or harass other people in a deliberate, repeated, and hostile manner

3: Cyber-bullying was not a serious problem when the Internet and texting became available | The 1990s leap in the advancement of technology led to the spike of cyber-bullying in the 2000s

5: At the beginning of the 21st century cyber-bullying became the new form of bullying | 2000-2001 were the first years that there was a reported level of cyber-bullying; from then the numbers kept increasing

7: Cyber-bullying starts at a very young | From the age of 8 to 17 cyber-bullying occurs; almost 10 years of possible harassment | Ages 12-13 experience the most cyber-bullying

8: Social media is contributing greatly to the level of cyber-bullying that occurs

9: 2003 - 2007 when websites like MySpace and Facebook were popular there was an increase in cyber-bullying

13: Middle school in 2011-12 had a higher level of bullying than high school in 2011-12 | Kids aged 12-14 have the highest percentage of cyber-bullying
