S: The River Valley Civilizations

BC: From reading this book you will be able to understand the Mesopotamia, Egypt, Indus Valley, and Chinese River Valleys; which shows pictures and has four pictures for each river valley civilization.

2: Mesopotamia 1. The Mesopotamian Religion did not believe in the afterlife like other religions in Egypt. 2. The Mesopotamians invented the wheel, plow, and irrigation systems 3. Mesopotamia was the very first river valley civilization in the world . 4. In Mesopotamia each city state had its own god. 5. Mesopotamia is located between the Euphrates River and Tigris River. 6. Hammurabi was one of the leaders of Babylon who was the first to put his laws into stone. 7. Hanging Gardens was one of the seven wonders of the world found in Babylon. 8. Cuneiform was the writing system that was used in Mesopotamia. 9. The city states there had nothing food to do with each other but fight wars. 10. The modern day Mesopotamia is now Iraq.

4: Egypt 1. 94 percent of Egyptians are Muslim. 2. The Nile River was used for transportation in Europe. 3. Egypt is surrounded by desert with a hot and dry climate. 4. The Egyptians used hieroglyphics as their form of writing. 5. All of the religions in early Egypt were polytheistic. 6. The Nile River runs at 4184 miles being one of the longest rivers in the world. 7. The hieroglyphics were 700 Egyptian symbols representing actual words. 8. Everyone believed what the pharaoh said and looked at him as a god. 9. In Egypt the women had many rights just like the men did. 10. The pyramids were built for the pharaohs to go to the afterlife.

6: Indus Valley 1. The Indus Valley is between the Indus River and the Ganges River. 2. The Indus Valley planned its cities on a grid system. 3. The Indus Valley was the beginning of the HIndu Culture. 4. The Indus Valley puts its major buildings in the center and had a strong government. 5. The Indus Valley started over 4,000 ago. 6. The people of the Indus Valley made big cities out of brick. 7. The people mostly used camels and oxen for transportation. 8. The Indus Valley had amazing skilled artisans. 9. The religious beliefs were mainly on figures and images. 10. The governments of Indus Valley controlled the people by trade and religion.

8: China 1. The Himalayan Mountains borders China to the south. 2. In China the Mandate of Power gave the ruler divine power. 3. The leaders in China would give land someone with military service which is called feudalism. 4. The Chinese believed that their ancestors could cast spells upon them. 5. One of the first dynasties in China was the Xing lasting from 2200 B.C. to 1700 B.C. 6. The most oldest and famous art was calligraphy. 7. Buddhism has always been the most popular religion in China. 8. Mandarin has always been a big language of the Chinese. 9. The last dynasty established was in 1644. 10. Chinese made many of their building out of wood.
