1: Your First Year Book | The first year of your life was a journey. Of ups, downs, and the in betweens. You are the one who made us parents... I will never forget these months ahead. It was the most rewarding and challenging times of our lives, but we wouldn't trade it for the world.
2: Your Baby Shower
4: August 2nd, 2010 We had to drive to Indianapolis, IN to deliver you at Indiana University Hospital. | Off to Indy!
5: A planned inducement turned into a very long waiting game..
6: Waiting.... | & waiting...
7: August 4, 2010 | 8lbs 2 oz 20.5 in
8: When you were born you went into immediate surgery to repair the Gastroschisis you were born with. Luckily, being born over 8lbs you were able to have ALL of your intestines put back in, in the same procedure. You spent a total of 3 days in the NICU and an additional 58 days in the PICU.
10: We finally get to hold you - 4 Days after you were born.
12: The Pediatric Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Riley Hospital was absolutely wonderful with you. They took care of you when we couldn't...

18: Goodbye Riley Hospital for Children! | It was the best day. We were finally bringing you home!
19: "Sweet baby of mine you embraced my heart and stole my breath away."
20: To have a child, is to decide FOREVER to have your heart go walking around outside your body.
21: Your first visit to Nana and Poppy's house. They were so excited to have you for the night. It was hard for mom and dad, but it was their first time seeing you since you were born! These lovens were long over due.

25: You had the best personality - still do. You never cried unless you were hungry, you always smiled despite all the obstacles you overcame. You slept when needed and was gaining weight faster than we could keep up. | your perfect
26: YOUR FIRST | NURSERY
30: Emmett and G-Mom | This was G-Mom's first trip visiting you at home. She was so thrilled to be with her first Grand-son.
33: Surprise GMom & Brandon! | Mom and Dad took you on a surprise visit to see GMom and Uncle Brandon in Fort Wayne, Indiana. They had no idea that we were coming! They were so excited to see you for the next few days...
35: As perfect as everything seemed. They simply were not. You were coughing through the night and the doctor recommended an Upper GI XRay. This XRay showed that you had developed a Hiatal Hernia and had to have surgery to repair it. This included a Nissen Fundoplication and a Gtube placed for feeds.
40: Happy First Birthday Emmett! This was such a great day spent with family and friends. It was a tough long year but you showed them whose boss! So proud of you my little man...
42: My dearest Emmett, The first year we had with you was the mot rewarding and most challenging task I had ever been given. Watching you grow, learn new things, go through additional surgeries, and the love that surrounded you and this family was so amazing. I hope this first year book gives you an idea of how amazing you are and how wonderful you made our lives.. Love, Mommy & Daddy
