S: Princess Cruise December 2013
BC: The sun sets over another cruise---where will we be on our next trip for a beautiful sunrise?
FC: Engagement Anniversary Cruise
Cynthy was our guest as we boarded the ship for our cruise. We had early boarding and a special lunch together. We then took a tour of the ship before she said bon voyage to us.
As we left the new Houston Cruise Ship Terminal, we had a great view of the Fred Hartman Bridge to Baytown as well as working shrimpers and a yacht race from the Houston Yacht Club. It took the ship two hours to navigate the Houston Ship Channel before we entered the Gulf. We decided to take this cruise to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our wedding engagement which was actually December 15, 1963. We attended a Rice University football game last month to commemorate our first date on November 12. So the celebration continues! Back then who would have guessed we would someday be on a cruise ship in Galveston Bay.
 Sunset over Galveston Bay!
First Port of Call | We could almost reach out and touch our neighbors on the wharf. They were actually quiet noisy as we tried to watch an outdoor movie from the top deck missing much of the dialog.
Since we have been to Cozumel several times, we decided just to spend the day resting and enjoying the sunshine. We took a morning stroll around the shops on the dock and then had lunch at Pancho's enjoying the music (and a little bit of the local drink). Afterward lunch we walked back to the ship and watched "The Lone Ranger" movie on the big screen on the lido deck.
A very small and very poor island off the coast of Honduras, Roatan doesn't have a lot to offer. The cruise company built their own dock and beach area. Walking the shops was much more pleasant than Mexico. | Roatan, Honduras
A short walk to the beach on a nice nature trail or a gondola ride takes you to the nice quiet beach. We had lunch and then a swim in the Caribbean.
Formal | Captain presents the Champaign Tree.
Nights | Thanks to the Giots for the Champaign as our tablemates toast our Anniversary!!!!
Belize | River Cruise and Mayan Ruins | Monkeys! | Minonite Settlement!
George climbs to the top----well, someone had to stay to take the pictures!!!
Egg Drop Challenge | Splat! | What a fun activity this was to watch. Anyone could "engineer" their own apparatus for dropping an egg three floors so that it wouldn't break. Our tablemate, John, above really had the funniest using his wife's bra. However, the winner, which I didn't get a picture of, was a very clever helicopter by a Japanese traveler. Most of the eggs did survive!
Chocolate Buffet Day! | Our singer waiter, Hector! | Baked Alaska Night! | Resting and exercising---mostly resting! Coming back across the Gulf, we hit a cold front and the wind nearly blew us off the ship! | One of many of our self portraits---some worked and then some did not! | ON BOARD
